I wish I had read the reviews here before I started with this company. I wanted to clear out a long overgrown backyard as a passion project for my family. It had been overgrown for 7 years so I knew it was going to be an ongoing project. I spoke at length to them about what I wanted to do and had no expectation of this getting done quickly. After the first walkthrough, I was given an estimate. The second time, the owner came with his wife and I was given another estimate, higher than the previous one but I still felt it was fair. He immediately started WORKING (seconds after the conversation) and left his wife to discuss payment particulars. He showed up again with workers and they cleared out some small trees and some debris. Then he started with the "up charges". I needed to pay more because he didn't factor in the cost to dispose of the debris. Funny, all the scrap metal was taken and disposed of but the trash remains. Like a previous reviewer said, he did not have the equipment to grind the stumps or remove some of the larger items as he had promised. Now he needed more money to complete these agreed up tasks. It goes without saying that he did not finish the job and seemed annoyed when I said I was disappointed. But he would be able to complete everything for THOUSANDS more. I really wanted to believe in this family business. But I should have known when I saw him at my neighbors house soliciting business and working to complete their project before mine. read more

HIRE AT YOUR OWN PERIL. Paid $5,000 for tree and clearing job that was to take 5 days. It could have cost me $8,000, but I am out $5,000. After three weeks, the Mr. McClarin excuse was "my truck is in shop". I have been patient and have asked Mr. McClarin to refund $3,000 and keep $2,000 as compensation for the trees his guys dropped. The job was so bad, the neighbor sent me a bill for tree dropped on his property that blocked his driveway. Good news was no injuries were reported. Unfortunately, this contractor is not credible and was way over his head. I am looking for this gentleman to "man-up" and meet my reasonable request for partial refund. I wish I had known about Mr. McClarin Tree service before he even came to my house. He gave us a flyer stating about all his service. He said he will Cut down the trees, remove and grind stumps. He lies, quote one price changes the price and don't have the equipment to do the job. He said he have to have at least six trees cut before he grind the stumps. That was not in the contract he supposed to grind the stumps after each tree was cut down. He did not do that, He cut down five trees and ask us to give him a week and a half. Saying he will come back to finish. Call him on 8-10-2021 he lie again saying he don't have any money to rent a grinder. We paid him enough money to do what need to be done at the time of service. He is not trustworthy saying he is a man of God. A liar will not tarry in the eye sight of God. Trouble came knotting at my door, when you see him coming don't open your door. read more

These two guys from McClarin Tree Service came by and we talked about a large tree on my property that was very close to my other two neighbors. The focus turned to a large stump in my front yard that was partially grind up but not finish. I stated that the start of the stump is about 4 feet from the house water line. They could complete grinding of that stump for $440. They went off to get a stump grinder and I pulled funds from the bank hoping that they would do a good job. I marked the location of the water line with marking paint (about 4 feet from the start of the stump). They were quick and packed up the stump grinder and started to leave and I said but the start of the stump is still here. He stated the it is too close to the water line and drove off. I talked to all my neighbors about this company and to not have any work done from them. One of my neighbors stated that his big stump that he had grind up only cost $150. Now I just felt like I have over paid and to make matters worst as I was cleaning up the area they did not finish and a large section was still in tacked. All the online reviews were negative and this business is not BBB accredited (Better Business Bureau). One thing that stands out about their tree service that if they did work to cut one of my big trees out and if a limb was to damage my neighbor's property he stated that would be an "Act of God" and they would not be responsible. On their business card stated that they are insured but his attitude is another reason why they will not have work from me or my community. I just don't trust this company. read more

He cut down 2 large Pecan trees and a dead tree for me at a cost of @2800.00. But then he had nothing to grind down the stumps. Also he asked for half the money up front before he had unloaded his truck. I did give him half after he had begun. Then he had to get an older man that he knew to tell him how to cut down one tree so that it would not fall on the house. I still have three tree stumps in my back yard. I would not use him again. Apparently his flyer he handed out was untruthful. 10/2021. read more

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use this company!!! I have never dealt with such an unprofessional group of people in my life!! I hired McClarin's tree service to cut down 4 trees in my backyard. I was told upon hiring them it would only take 2 days to cut and remove the trees, and grind the stumps below the ground so that I could grow grass in my backyard. After the first day that they were here, they didn't return for 4 days, which I later found out was because they were called by other people to do business. Upon returning it took another 3 weeks for them to complete the job- not kidding!! Throughout my nightmare ordeal, I experienced other issues that just sound too bad to be real!! One of the trees had to be climbed and cut piece by piece because it was close to my house and fence. They thought it was a good idea to do this at dusk. In fact it would not have been possible to finish if my backyard lights weren't on. After they finished, I heard two guys talking (with no concerns of me hearing them) about riding together to get their "fix". Also, I served these guys food and drinks throughout the day. All of the paper cups and plates were thrown and left all over my yard. One employee asked my husband for a ride home, which was to a very scary part of town. The employees argued and cursed at each other. In fact, it was so bad, I had to keep my two year old and my neighbor's kid away from my house. The owner of the company (Bobby) was going to leave a spare tire in my backyard. He said he would"come back and get it later". They drove on my grass multiple times after I told them I had a underground sprinkler system. Lastly, after I moved the mulch from them grinding the stumps, I found that they were all still 3-5 inches above the ground. After calling for two weeks with no answer or returned calls I finally called from a different number and of course the call was answered immediately.
