Poutine is typical French Canadian(Québécois) fast food and consists of fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. You can add whatever other toppings on top of that depending on your taste - I recommend the maple bacon! Finding good poutine is difficult even in Canada if you're not in Quebec, so you can understand my excitement. The service was really friendly, he told me about all the various Canadians he's had in the past months. They also have some Canadian beers - Moosehead which is a typical lager and then two selections from the Québécois brewery St-Ambroise. The perfect addition to your poutine! They're only open for lunch and then they close again and open up in the evening for the bar crowd - and stay open until 3 am. Midnight poutine is kind of amazing so if you're hitting the town on Amiens you can stop by on your way home for a delicious midnight meal. A definite recommend from this Canuck!

After hestitating for a while I chose Le Nippon chicken burger, a terriyaki marinated chicken breast covered with melted mozzarella and sauteed shitake mushrooms. It was served in a lovely brioche bun and came with a copious side of sauteed zucchini, a nice "healthy" alernative to the fries, but quite greasy nonetheless. The meal was yummy and super inexpensive (10E if I remember correctly), but towards the end of the meal my eyes started to sting from the steamy smoke from the grill. Once I got home and smelled myself, my worst fears were confirmed -- all of that grill grease had seeped into my clothes. Until Le Mal Barre gets a better airation system, I'm going to pass on this place even though the burger were quite good.

The place is large, it feels a bit like a big chain type of restaurant and thought it was large for nothing (a lot of space not used ) The bun is so-so, the Chili burger was missing something... Maybe spices. The Chili cheese fries were good. Around 15 € per head it is priced fairly compared to the other burger place. I don't know if I would come back as they are so many other burger places in Paris to stick to one.
