I would never touch any food from a place that is rated below 4; Very glad we found Lucky Star where we can eat with confidence. The food is lovely. I love the vast selection of not only Chinese but also Thai. The Thai chicken roll is great, so are the curries and dumpling. We are mostly happy with everything. The only thing I would improve is the Won Ton soup. I love how it has a lot of vegetable in it like cabbage, carrot etc, however I would add spring onion and improve the flavour and consistency a bit. Its still a good soup and the dumplings are some of the best I had from a takeaway in a long time but the broth needs a bit improvement. Lucy Star is a great place to eat with safe and tasty food that is always consistent.

I do find the food a little pricey for what it is, a Chicken Butterfly meal with two sides would cost £14.45, without a drink and any further extras. Prices also seem to be going up very frequently, they seem to be increasing by 20-25p every month or two. The interior is fairly typical of any Nando's, so no surprises there. I did notice far fewer booths and comfortable seating though. You can either order at your table with the QR code or at the counter, I had to do the latter due to having an allergy. Service wasn't too attentive or friendly but it could have been as they were busy, as I visited on a Saturday afternoon. PRO TIP: Despite being a meat restaurant Nando's do NOT have mayonnaise, stocking a vegan alternative instead, offering a perinaise (peri-peri mayo) as a paid sauce, so if you're looking for regular mayo, head into Tesco beforehand. I ordered my usual Nando's order, a medium spiced Chicken Butterfly with Peri Chips and Spicy Rice, the chicken was cooked well and the rice was hot but the chips just seemed to be missing something, and had no colour to them, other than the peri salt. 3* - OK for sure, one of the better places to eat in Leigh, but there are very limited options in the town.

It looks and tastes really healthy and is full of grains like Quinoa and topped with a lovely Avocado based dressing. Now of course I had this alongside my usual staple Chicken Butterfly and Peri-peri Chips, you can now see why I'm happy there is a healthy side to choose! My girlfriend had the Quinoa salad with extra chicken which looked fantastic! Worth noting you get a 20% NHS discount with your NHS card (my girlfriend works for the NHS) - I knew there was a reason I picked her :D

I watched Star Wars, E.T., and Moonwalker here! So it's with quite some disappointment that I found a very run of the mill Wetherspoon bar. I thought, or rather hoped, that something more would have been made of the buildings cinematic heritage. There's a great range of beers, and an extensive food menu. I went for a large mixed grill whilst my dining partner had the scampi. The food was great, no complaints whatsoever. I had expected to find more seating upstairs. Well, if there is any, I couldn't find a staircase to access it!! For such a large bar there doesn't seem to be that many tables. Most of the clientele appeared to be enjoying the keenly priced drinks, not that many people were eating. Downsides: I did have to wait a long time to be served at the bar, and they had run out of fish!! I'm unlikely to rush back, but it's not a bad option for a reliable meal when in the Leigh area.
