Wendy's was the first fast-food place I ever saw offering salads, and now they're the last, because McDonald's and Burger King have stopped offering salads, and I'm not sure that A&W ever did. This location is apparently brand new, and, in line with Wendy's current style in architecture, it's targeted more at selling through the drive through window, although it does at least still have a dining room, although much smaller than the older Wendy's designs. And even though it probably wasn't actually made out of shipping containers, it seems like it's about the right dimensions for that. It also has one of those self-serve drink machines where you can choose a pop, and then choose extras to mix into it. The upside for the customer is a lot more choice in drinks. The downside for the staff is probably having to wrestle a lot more syrup canisters.

This is the first such that I've seen with a storefront and doors to the outside of the Walmart. But apparently, Walmart just couldn't get past their habit of making you go into the store to get to the food. You can exit from the Burger King directly to the parking lot, but the doors only open from the inside. To get to the Burger King, you have to go through the Walmart. Fortunately, I like Burger King more than I dislike Walmart, so this setup was more of an annoyance than a dealbreaker. (At least, for me. Your mileage may vary.) Once you get to the Burger King, it's pretty much the standard setup. It did feel somewhat less busy than I expected, given that we were there at lunchtime. (If I had to guess at the cause for the lower traffic, I would guess that having to run the gauntlet through Walmart to get to the food makes this location less attractive than other fast food joints in the area.)

The squash, beetroot and kale were steaming hot from Pachamama. Thanks for adding shaved Brussels sprouts. That's my new favorite now. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Chips and Salsa didn't feel freshly made but still were surprisingly perfect that our kid gobbled it all. The buffalo burger has a great sauce. The chicken was well coated in hot sauce and had a nice white sauce on it. Great pickles/onions. No lettuce or tomato so the bun ended up mushy. I ended up eating the chicken. I've given them two goes and won't return.
