For THIS one, yes…read more It is situated at the Porte du Nord service area, about 5 miles north of Saint-Jerome, Quebec as the Autoroute begins its slow and scenic ascent through the Laurentians, through quaint towns, en route to Mont-Tremblant. The service area has plenty of parking, gas stations, food choices, the tourist information center, and this McDonald's, housed within a large building resembling a French country manor. I have eaten here many times. The food is typical of McDonald's, so it's reliable, the restaurant is clean, spacious, and well lit, and, mostly, the service at this location is the most pleasant and helpful ever encountered at any McDonald's I've patronized.

The complete café/latté/pastry array and of course all the usual burger stuff. The placement of the building is quite good, not a lot of parking but a big chunck of the clientele take the drive-through. The place is clean, effective and overall a McDonald-y experience.

Each dish is made in front of your eyes and you can order it mild, medium, hot or extra hot. I find a bit humorous is that extra-hot to my taste buds is akin to a medium in many other restaurants (in Thailand it would be a mild-plus). "Spice heat" is a relative scale! On this meal I ordered a red curry chicken. This comes with rice and is a good sized meal for lunch and maybe a smaller amount for dinner. You can make it a combo with an Imperial roll, spring roll, soup or dumplings. Of course a Fast food Asian must have the ubiquitos General Tao's chicken (a Quebec cult classic). Menu items are limited but with each selection you can choose chicken, beef, shrimp or vegetables. You can usually get out of here for a meal with drink for sub $13-14 tax in. For me I enjoy this as a meal any day and twice on Sunday's over Subway! In comparison to Thai Express I believe the quality is similar however my preference would have to go with Thai Express! Thaïzone is however a hair close on second! Come for quick casual Asian, leave satisfied!

The shared platter serves 2 hungry people. We had the pork one, and the roast pork portion of it was very good. Tasty and tender, with a good meat to fat ratio. I often cut off the fatty bits, but for this, I ate the whole thing. The lumpia is pretty good too. Other parts of the platter were good too - deep fried shrimp and rice noodles. All very authentic. Service is friendly. We'll be back.

Honestly, one of the best smash burgers I've had, even compared to some of my favourites in Montreal. The medium poutine was more than enough for two people to share. The cheese curds were fresh and squeaky, the fries were thick and crispy, and the gravy had a rich, unique flavour that really brought everything together. The menu is simple, the food is done right, and the portions are generous. If you're in Saint-Sauveur and craving a great burger, don't skip this spot.

The inside of the restaurant still smells like an old ashtray from the clientele that frequented it back in the days when smoking was allowed in public places. The pizza that I ordered had raw onions on it which also taste of cigarette smoke and were warm at the most, having spent very little time in the oven. The tomato pizza sauce had an over-powering taste of fennel or anise, either of which makes an awful combination in pizza (in my opinion). After dinner I asked the waitress what their specialties were, to my surprise she warned me to stay away from their smoked meat (not a good sign when even the staff doesn't like the food they serve), and then boasted that their pizza was recognized as one of the best in Saint-Jerome. As another reviewer pointed out, I also noticed their menu spelled Scotch whisky "Skotch"... What a classy joint. I wish I could say something positive about this restaurant, but the fact is that I will never be going back.
