As we were walking there someone walked on from the other side and she proceeded to give the last seat to them even though she made eye contact and spoke to us. We just left. One of my favorite breakfast places. I don't usually critic restaurants based on their breakfast. I mean you have to be really dumb or the worst cook on the planet to mess up eggs and toast or hash browns. Look! I am not saying you won't find such restaurants, you will always find some! However, McDuff's has really nice, decent priced, good portion breakfast. Most of all their service is very good. They have very nice people on their staff that makes you always feel welcomed. They are located in downtown Redlands CA and its definitely a hole in the wall!. Please visit them and make sure to get their Omelettes. Not that their other dishes does not taste good, but their Omelettes are the best. McDuff - Breakfast and lunch Cafe on State & 7th. Cute little Cafe with less then a dozen tables & a counter. Servers will greet you and take your name down if all tables are full. Well I ordered the waffle combo and unfortunately the waffle did seem like it was frozen waffles. So, I ordered the Home fries which was a better side with my eggs & bacon. Delicious. Next time I will order French toast or pancakes. All in all McDuffs is a nice local breakfast and lunch place that everyone should try. Friendly staff and good food. read more

McDuff's is such a hidden gem! We just found this place while we were looking for breakfast places on Yelp and so glad we did. They seem like a small mom & pop shop and really has a homey feel. Unfortunately, they are only open until 2 pm so get there early. We had the McDuff's hash and McDuff's scramble with bacon. We also ordered their cinnamon roll after our main dishes, which came out warm and delicious. All the dishes come with a lot of food so we definitely had to pack some to go. Every time I visit the Redlands area, I make it a point to stop by for breakfast. A tiny restaurant which usually has a wait. Today the wait was less than 10 minutes, not bad at all. Our party of five was seated at a table next to the counter. Today it seemed they were short staffed as we waited 8 minutes for a waitress to come over and ask us our drink order. Our meals came out quickly and hot off the grill. The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon cooked to crisp perfection. They make their own sausage patty and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste and generous size. The Italian sausage they put in their omelette is something I highly recommend. A simple mistake was made on one of our orders. When it was shared with our waitress she defended herself saying she was not told to add this missing item to the omelette. However, we kindly shared in unison we heard that item ordered and reminded her the original order statement "I'm going to order five items in my omelette." She seemed a bit perturbed by it, but agreed to fix the order. We were wondering why she didn't come around to give us a refill on our water or coffee. As she was putting away cutlery behind the counter, we asked if our table could get coffee refills. Her response was a bit surprising when she said "In a minute." She finished putting away her cutlery for three minutes actually, then came over to serve us. A waitress is a reflection on the business. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Met my son here for breakfast and service was excellent. This was our first time here, my son had actually noticed them tucked away between various businesses. We walked in and we were greeted and seated right away. It is a small little place and during Covid 19 they have about five tables for indoor dining. We ordered the ham and two eggs breakfast, the McDuff's hash, a cinnamon roll and a side of biscuits and gravy. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The coffee was good and she kept our cups full which we appreciate. We shared the cinnamon roll and the biscuits and gravy and I think I preferred the cinnamon roll. Our breakfast was good but nothing really stood out. I did see other things I'd like to try like their version of a monte cristo sandwich and their oat pancakes, the omelettes look pretty good too. So this morning I ordered breakfast the steak and eggs. And I asked for WELL DONE on my steak. I guess Pink is the new well done or something I don't know. Then I called and they asked me to bring my steak back in and they'll throw it back on the grill a little longer. the cook should have temperature checked the steak to ensure its well done. I'm really upset About this because it's really pink like a lot. I can see if there was some dark pink fine but bright pink basically the cook threw it on the grill for 5 min. This is teeny tiny cafe that you could easily drive by. I'm so glad we didn't. We stopped by looking to load up on some breakfast to start our Saturday shenanigans. We ordered some mimosas and I was so impressed that they use 100% local fresh squeezed orange juice. I honestly don't think I can have a mimosa any other way. The staff were quick, attentive and very friendly. I got eggs benedict and my bf got their french toast with eggs and bacon. Now their eggs benny was great but i was blown away by their french toast. I didn't go here for breakfast but for lunch. I've always seen this place but had no idea what it was, I always thought it was a restaurant and to my surprise it was a diner. Well it looks like a smaller version of Denny's, so I guess you could say it's a step up. It's way better than Denny's. It is really small in there and when we got there, there was only two other people there, but after about 10 minutes more people started coming in. The interior is brown, think grey maple color (if I'm remembering correctly). Was greeted when I walked in (I was meeting my sister), and it was self seating which was pretty cool. The menu isn't that big, but that's okay, because this little place seems to be made for breakfast and lunch only. The prices were reasonable. I ordered the Chicken Ranchero Sandwich (which is open faced). It comes with a grilled chicken breast, with chili's, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and avocado slices. A side salad and steak fries. And only for $10! It was really good. The seasoning blended really well, and it was really big, I had to pace myself so i could eat it all.
