I bought my property just shy of two years ago and I've been using another aggregate supplier for the three-quarter AB and mulch I've needed. I've spent probably $5,000+ with them a little last year or so and I didn't expect them to give me something for free, but I was a bit shocked when I called and inquired about the leadtime and cost of 18 yards of rip rap for my front culvert. That particular vendor didn't bother return my call so I called back two weeks later and when they quoted me a price, they did it by text as if it were a pain in the ass to even speak to me. So I thought I better double check this price. I gave Bobby over at McHenry and Myer (They just recently changed their name from McHenry Excavating) a jingle and not only was he super nice, but he was exceptionally professional, offering me a quote on the spot, and availability in three days. He said they could've done it at the same day but they're just slammed with deliveries and I can see why. Bobby's quote was exactly $500 less than the other vendor who I will no longer be doing business with. Everyone is entitled to make a profit, but that was obscene and insulting. They were trying to charge me that much more (33%!) Billy was my delivery driver and not only did he show up right on time but I'm a material was fantastic, exactly what I was hoping for, and believe me, some of these vendors will bring you material that's too large or too small and then try to pawn it off on you or guilt you into taking it. Not the case here. Not only did Billy show up on time with the right material, but he carefully evaluated my property and the approach to a job site with special attention to powerlines and other utilities. This required him to completely reposition and he did so without a single complaint. Then he surgically placed all of my rock, and I doubt that I'll have to move much of it very far up the hill. All in all, a really great experience. And one of the things will really shock you is that this is the only business I found since moving here two years ago that does not charge a credit card fee on any transaction.
