We wanted to get an idea of where we were at after 1.5 yrs of use on our 53 yr old septic system. We've had some serious concerns since the neighbors have all had problems with there septic drainage. Steve was very helpful and answered my questions on how the system works and what he looks for if there's a problem. That's what I needed to know. This company has also pumped two of my neighbors septic systems. He did report good news with our system and I'm thankful for all the vinformation I gleaned from him. Update, I had them come out again in January (1 month later) because we were having drain problems when it rained. Bob came out and did a quick inspection and confirmed that my septic system is not draining into the leach field when it rains. It's one of those things that's fine when no rain and terrible when it does rain. So bummed. Bob said I need it pumped out right away so it doesn't backflow into the house. Next day Manny came out and pumped it and wrote down a full report of everything. Now on to the next step of solving this problem. Unfortunately the only solution is a self treatment system because we have high ground water. They have the ability to do that and their price is same as others. Our first time dealing with a backed up septic tank was not very pleasant so we called McKenna Septic to help us along. We spoke to Kim and she was kind and patient enough to walk us through what to expect. She was also kind enough to squeeze us in on the same day. This was the 2nd time we used McKenna on an emergency basis and just like the 1st time, I'm extremely happy with their service. Dave was exactly on time, made a courtesy call when he was 15 min out to let us know he would be arriving on time and asked us if driveway was clear (I left a note with the dispatcher that our driveway is steep and there would be no way to turn the truck at the bottom, so best to back down when "light" and drive back up in forward when "heavy"). Dave was professional, efficient, very courteous, and informative during his diagnosis and later demonstration that the backup was totally fixed. The price was the lowest when I first used McKenna 4 yrs ago and got multiple estimates. This time I didn't bother to make multiple calls...and I was a bit apprehensive that maybe their prices got hiked multiple times in 4 yrs...but the price this time was only $25 higher than 4 yrs ago, so I remain very happy with McKenna and with their great guy Dave and their overall outstanding service. read more

N. Lake Wohlford, Valley Center First Service I called several local Septic Companies, a couple called back and said they could not get to us for up to a week. I got lucky when I reached out to McKenna Septic and Sewer Services. Excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE from initial call which was after hours to first thing the next day to pump a full septic that was backing up in the property. This was initially a home warranty call with Old Republic Home Warranty where they (OPHW) dispatched a Riverside company for Valley Center after 24 hours with no appt from the Septic/Plumber in Riverside said they would not come to Valley Center. (OPHW) said we could call a local Septic company out of their contract and get reimbursed. The pump guy Dave was very patient, once he arrived at 8:00 am as promised I had to get on the phone with the home warranty company and him, so he had could explain the back up so they could approved over the phone. I reached out to McKenna Septic & Sewer Services for a routine pumping after a different local septic company, Diamond Environmental Service, no-showed for the appointment we had set up and didn't bother to call to apologize either. My experience with McKenna couldn't have been more different. Laura was friendly and provided excellent customer service: she set up an appointment for the following morning and was able to answer all of my questions. I uncovered the septic lids myself, but McKenna Septic & Sewer offers digging for an extra charge, a nice option to have. First thing on the day of the appointment, Manny gave me a call to give me a more specific arrival time, and then called again when he was on his way. Manny was friendly, quick, and laid the hose carefully as to not damage my newly landscaped front yard. Thank you McKenna!! This was perfect service, from beginning to end (which wasn't very long). We contacted them on Tuesday night and they were out Wednesday morning. I put out a recommendation request on Facebook, and literally EVERY reply was for McKenna, so naturally we contacted them. Our tech, Manuel, was helpful, prompt, professional, educational, and very good at what he does. We have a little bit of an odd set up with our tank, but that did not slow him down one bit. I had my septic cleaned today. I called the office of McKenna's and I spoke with Laura. She (Laura) is very competent at her job. She setup the appointment and kept in contact. My neighbor had his tank cleaned at the same time. Dave was the sanitation engineer that cleaned the tank. He was fast and efficient at getting the job done so we did not have that lingering odor. This is the second time that we had our tank cleaned. We are satisfied customers with the office worker and the cleaner. We will use them again and again. We you find something that works stick with it. We are sticking with McKenna Septic and sewer service. If you use this service write me and let me know your experiences with them. My wife and I are real estate brokers. We needed to get a client's septic system checked & certified in order to close the deal on the sale of his home. I called 5 companies, and McKenna was the only one who answered their phone! First we had to locate, and uncover the tank. That was Todd, who showed up exactly at the time they promised, and worked like a dozen demons were after him for 90 minutes to move about 2 cubic yards with a shovel, all by himself. The next day it was Dave who came out to pump and inspect. He actually arrived about 20 minutes early, and got right to work. He was quick, efficient, and clearly knew what he was doing. My sewer linens were completely backed up. I had tried to snake the line myself and couldn't clear it. I assumed it was my septic tank. After several calls McKenna was the only company to offer to be out within a few hours vs days. Even with the additional small fee it was well worth it. Their service man was very polite. He was very patient with me, explaining the problems, showing me how they test for them. He tried to explain to me that the problem probably wasn't the tanks being backed up. I still requested them to be emptied and cleaned. He was right. But, he kindly stayed and tried to help me locate the clog and clear it. Moved into Escondido 3 years ago, thus it was time to pump out my septic. I first called Diamond because they had done the pump out at the time I bought the home. When I called them they were unaccommodating and more expensive than McKenna. McKenna septic were super professional and customer friendly. Janet answered all my questions. She sent Todd to assist me in finding the openings in order to make the pumping possible. This is something Diamond refused to do even though I called them twice. Dave appeared at our gate and he quickly completed the pumping and wrote up his recommendations for putting in risers so that I don't have to dig for the opening 3-4 years from now. All in all I have become a McKenna customer and will make them my go to septic tank company for years to come. Saved us in a pinch! We had a septic tank backup into the house and called over 25 local companies and they were all booked up until the middle of the following week. We started calling companies outside our local area and McKenna came to our rescue! They arrived within the 1 hour window time frame they told us on the phone. Not only did they come service outside their normal service area they rerouted a truck to us. The two employees that arrived were very professional and informative. They educated us on proper workings of septic system, gave helpful tips on how to keep a septic system working effectively and showed us what to do to prevent a backup from happening again. Must say this was the first time for septic service ever and did not know what to expect from it at all. From the first minutes of my initial phone call I was impressed with the friendly staff and their excellent customer service. I didn't know what to ask but the 2 ladies in the front office they had all the right questions and answers about what I might need. The prices quoted were in my case almost exactly because I was thinking more with tax and that was already figured in. Manuel was the driver and he brought everything he needed with him including a long hose 200' it was a lot of work for him but he was also very knowledgeable and nice. The 2 guys from the first day were friendly and found the caps and spent time digging down 2+ feet to tank. Over all was great service they provided and very competitive prices. Community Baptist Church had the office flood on Jan 26/17. In figuring it out we summarized our options and the septic tank was thought to be the culprit. Called 2 other services locally and none was available at 3:30-4-00pm. We were starting to panic, when we called McKenna. Told them our problem and we were told that Dave was on his way back for Encinitas and would head directly our way. At 5:30pm he was pumping out our tank and during his investigation found that the tank was aok, but the line into the tank had a blockage. Dave work with Jeff Smith from Fallbrook Rooter and Drain Service to validate the blockage. Dave was patient, pleasant and made our worry disappear. We are buying a house in Valley Center that has a septic system. Being "city-folk", we know nothing about septic systems, and being on a deadline to complete inspections under the purchase contract, we were under some pressure. We were referred to McKenna. Right from the start, Laura was extremely helpful, explaining how the process works and patiently answering all our questions. More importantly, because the tank is two feet below the surface, rather than 6 inches, she scheduled diggers for one day and the inspection for the next day on extremely short notice. McKenna had a truck on our property servicing our septic system within 3 hours of our call to help us with an urgent service need. Their normal appointment was available for next day service but it worked out and they went above and beyond to help us out. The other services we called could not service our property until next week. On top of timing of their response time McKenna's price was more competitive than the three other services we called. When Dave arrived, he was super nice, very informative, and took the time answer our questions and to show us any maintenance concerns he observed. Every person in this company was super polite, knowledgeable, helpful, efficient and honest-- from Jonette in the office, to Bob, the owner, who really knows his business, and Todd, who patiently diagnosed our leach line problem, and Dave who pumped our tank, and finally, Dominick and his crew who constructed the 250-foot leach line repair on our property -- all of them were first class. Had a great experience with this company. When we needed same day service they were able to fit us in when all the other companies I called had a several-day wait. The two women I spoke to on the phone we're very helpful and getting us an appointment and understood our needs. Dave was great. He called when he was on his way and was able to switch our appointment with his next stop so that we could continue getting the covers exposed and that way we didn't delay anyone. When he arrived he was very professional and went right to work. McKenna sent Dave to pump our ancient three-chamber concrete septic tank that had never been pumped and was not accepting any flushed or drained water which was now backing up into the house. The tank has been used for over 60 years. When we dug and removed the three concrete "lids" we saw only solids inside. Digging some out with a post-hole digger, the stuff was only damp and didn't even drip. I didn't think it could be pumped, but Dave got to work with his steel rod and slowly broke up the solids, adding water and sucking out the local mud as he progressed. It was hard work and took a long time, but he persisted. Now the ancient tank is clean inside. In addition, Dave explained how our tank was configured inside and what repairs are needed. McKenna and their sister companies all had top notch service. I ended up speaking with Laura at McKenna, and Sierra at their sister plumbing company. They both were so professional and went above and beyond to be sure the right service was provided, even going so far as pulling up schematics of plumbing from the County. Eddie was the primary service provider at the house and he was super professional, explained the situation and recommendations clearly, and worked efficiently. I don't remember the name of the guy who assisted him, but he was also friendly and professional. I appreciated that he did not push the upsell on what we need and let us know realistically when we might need to pursue some fixes to our system.
