Yes gave me a car (no rental fee to leave the state) oh and at the time I was not a US resident either. (Greanted he had my car...) I was gone 10 days and when I got back it was ready in 2 more days. (I stayed with the mechanic whom I have stayed friends with till this day). It needed a top end rebuild and the turbo and it took 12 days and the car ran flawless. The following year on my annual trip to the keys I lost the transmission and I rented a Uhaul and towed it to Boatrights and was on my way again in a few days. In about 2 year time frame I basically replaced my cars drive train I did love that car and I sold it a few years later for 12k. With over 500K miles on it still running like a top. I missed the small "No Trespassing" sign, and the gate was wide open. While I understand I should have noticed the sign, I was also a paying customer and had no intention of doing anything inappropriate. Instead of being approached with understanding, I was met with intense hostility, sarcasm, and even a threat that a gun could be pulled out. That was incredibly alarming and completely unnecessary. I apologized multiple times and explained that I had simply missed the sign, but there was no grace or professionalism shown throughout the interaction. Everyone has bad days, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will never return to this shop.

I am happy to say that the nice folks at Gerber Collison in Brunswick recommended Bob and his staff at Barnes Auto, in Brunswick. Years ago I had an older car towed to Bob. It needed a new fuel pump. I wasn't going to drop the gas tank on a gravel driveway. Bob called me up prior to replacing the pump. He informed me that the PCM (power control module, the main computer) was bad. And since that part wasn't available he suggested scraping the car. A Saturn station wagon with approximately 295,000 miles had served me well. Lots of other places would have been happy to charge me hundreds of dollars to replace the fuel pump and then call me with the bad news. I recommend Bob and his staff at Barnes Auto to anyone looking for an honest shop where INTEGRITY is more important than a making a quick dollar. Thank you very much Bob, Tammy and the techs in back. I had my local mechanic to rebuild the front end on my Dodge Ram 2500 4wd pickup, using the Carli…read moredrag bar and rebuildable super heavy duty upper and lower ball joints, along with the Synergy "T-style" steering linkage assembly, and other front end parts, along with a heavy duty steering box and bracket, and a quality power steering pump. I needed to have the front end aligned, as I had spoke to Kendall Barnes, to find out if his shop could do this. Kendall told me, they could align anything. So I drove there, and being I didn't have an appointment, had to wait a short time, then they got me inside and on their alignment machine. Joe was the alignment 'tech', as he did a superb job, making sure the steering wheel was lined up correctly with wheels, taking his time to make sure it was done correctly. I would have waited all day, but Barnes had me in and out in less than a couple of hours. My truck now drives like a dream. I would highly recommend Barnes Tire on Community Road in Brunswick GA. Now need a new set of Nitto Dura Grappler 10 ply tires, as Barnes Tire can order these as well.
