They responded quickly and the issue was resolved asap. They took the time to explain what needed to be done.

Cindy, it pains me to write this review…read more We used this company to put in a water filtration system on our new home in 10/2020. They suggested a greensand filter with calcite and corosex media to treat iron and manganese, and also an ultra-violet system to treat bacteria ($3700). They came back every year to do "maintenance" on the system (cost $300-$400 each year). In Aug of 2023 (not even three full years from installation), I started getting red tinted water that smelled of iron. I contacted Cindy, who came out and did another water test. After filter test showed high levels of iron, manganese, and also a tad bit high PH. Cindy suggested that they come out and change the filter media within the greensand filter, add a 20" jumbo cartridge filter with a dual gradient 25:1 micron cartridge, and also do their yearly maintenance ($1926). I did not get clear water. I waited about 6 weeks, hoping the filter would kick in and start working, but it never cleared up. I contacted Cindy telling her we were still getting smelly water and would also turn orange when heated (cold water looked clear but still smelled of iron). She came out and tested and we still had high levels of iron, manganese, and a high PH. Changing the filter media and adding the dual gradient filter did nothing! $2000 worth of work and nothing changed. You can imagine my frustration. When I asked what the solution was, I was told she wanted to try adding calcite media (which I thought was already in there with the changing of the media, it's what was in our original filter), here are her exact words: "If we try adding media to the existing tank and installing a flow restrictor, the cost would be about $270.00, depending on how much calcite we can actually add (this is the issue). If we add an acid neutralizer, it is $2600.00 installed." So, now I'm supposed to TRY something at the cost of $2900 and it may not work??! At this point I lost all confidence in this company. I had another company come out and look at the problem. Turns out the system we have won't work at all AND it was not installed up to code (something about the outflow going directly into septic system. If the septic system ever backs up the ick water would end up in our drinking water). Just a shame.

They were there for 3 days without an email, call, or text. Then they send me an invoice two weeks later for 120% OVER the quoted price. On top of that. They claimed it was a dry well and it COMPLETELY FULL OF WATER!!! I pumped it out and have a flow rate of over 5 gpm at 100 feet down. There intentions right from the get go were to rip me off! Now they leaned the property, all part of the original criminal plan, because they know I'm selling it. CRIMINALS! I'm filing criminal charges and taking them to court from fraud, negligence, breaking state well drilling mandates etc etc etc. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! SCAM!!!

I had a few companies come out and let me know what I needed. First thing Chris did was test the…read morewater (which no one else did ) and then go over the results with me in detail. I never felt rushed or pushed for a sale. He made sure I understood each result and answered all my questions. We then went over the systems and again wasn't pushed to go more then needed. I had asked about something another company told me i needed but based on my water results he let me know I didn't need it and save the money. Installation went smooth and the install tech walked me through the system and how to make changes if I wanted to. I would recommend Chris and Pure Water to anyone looking for a system. Not just a great system that Im very happy with but great service and folks that care

After a year having a new water system installed, one tank started spurting water. I called,…read moree-mailed and texted Chris, the seller, to no avail, (two weeks). After I called another number I was told that another tech from Augusta would come down. The man told me that the tank that was spurting had a crack in the head. He turned the bypass off and it stopped leaking after a while. He told me there were three tanks I did not need and to fix it, it would take another $8,000.00 and that was at a discount. I had already paid the Pure Experts almost $14,000.00, so I told him I was going to get another opinion with another accredited water system company (the Pure Experts and Aerus are not accredited by the BBB). I wouldn't recommend the company to anyone!!! Since this writing, I have found out things I cannot divulge. "The Pure Experts" on Warren Avenue, Portland,ME are scammers! Period!!!!

DO NOT USE Follow up- I called Jeff twice only and the other number was his cell number (how would I have that if he did not do work with me before), I wasn't sure if it was the same person which is why there was a second call. He was also very rude about that and was being condescending. Ironically our entire conversation and receipt of payment for our last job was still there so him saying he doesn't know me or never did work is a lie as there is the proof below.

American Mechanical & Plumbing was recommended by someone on a local community Facebook page so I contacted him by phone. He was very easy to talk to and he confirmed my suspicions about the old well line being no good. He recommended trying to lay a temporary poly line above ground but given the distance and grade it just wouldn't work but it wasn't from lack of trying. Jeff and his partner tried for a few hours with no luck and then only charged us for the fittings. Fast forward a week and we had another great guy doing all the excavation and he and Jeff linked up and came up with a plan to get water back on. Excavation guy did his thing and then this morning (July 12th) he showed up and had everything connected and water flowing in two hours. He came up with the idea to ditch our old shallow well jet pump and put a pump in the well with a 20 gallon pressure tank in our basement. What an upgrade. We really can't recommend him enough. I'll be passing his name along to anyone who needs a great plumber. Thanks Jeff and crew @ American Mechanical & Plumbing!! The Waters Family
