I would recommend this service to anyone who needs help loading things onto a truck and unloading. It made our moving process more efficient, because we were able to clean our old place as they cleared out rooms. We packed ourselves and tried to make it as easy possible for the movers (i.e. sealed boxes, everything out of closets, etc) which it made it smoother for both us and them. The only thing preventing me from giving 5-stars is the communication ahead of the move. I never received a response from the email address I had sent a question and ended up calling a week ahead of the move with my question. I was told i would get a check-in call the day prior to the move and didn't get that; I assumed it was because we chatted the week prior. But I was still a little uneasy hoping they didn't forget about us! I also just like over-communication (and my husband will tell you I am very Type-A haha) so that's just my preference! also FYI they prefer cash or check so have that handy day-of move!

Some of the other moving companies I contacted never returned my voicemail. We got my move scheduled a few weeks before it was to happen. This was very easy with me discussing the details with Pam as well as texting her photos of the rooms and larger items. There were some blips in the delivery of the Pod and I am so grateful that Pam was able to reschedule with such short notice. Our move was a bit more complex. Double D's had to meet us at a location in Camp Hill to pick up a truck full of furniture. This was brought to our Harrisburg home. And then this as well as everything in our house was loaded into a 16 foot pod. Part of the reason I picked double D's was because of their glowing reviews and their ability to load a POD very tight. They exceeded expectations and used every bit of the pod from floor to ceiling. (A 16 foot POD is for a house up to 1400 ft.². This of course doesn't include your basement, attic, and garage.) They did an amazing job! We had a few items that did not fit and we expected this because a 16" pod is not as big as you expect it to be. (No big deal because we will drive them at another date to our new location.) They then drove these items back to the Camp Hill address where we could store them. The price was very fair. I can't say enough good things about this group.

I moved from Philadelphia to Red Lion, which is a 2 hour drive (without traffic, which never happens). Tony contacted me immediately when I originally sent a yelp message, he stuck to his quoted price, there were no surprise fees. Tony and I scheduled the move a week in advance and he kept me up to date when he and Vince were driving to Philadelphia and they arrived on time. Within 1 hour they loaded the truck with all my furniture (sectional couch, mattress, bed frame, dresser, 2 things like dressers, ottoman, and a desk). I went ahead of them to Red Lion and when they arrived they unloaded the truck and put the furniture in the rooms I needed, and it was all done fast! I highly HIGHLY recommend them! I could not imagine moving without these guys, plus they do long distance moving (more than my move). I'd definitely hire them again when I move again.

They were not overpaid by any means EXCEPT that they damaged almost every piece of my best furniture in a 4 mile move. For instance: Guest bedroom box spring and mattress (scraped off fabric on edge/corner and dirty from dragging even though it was in a UHAUL mattress/box protector), Living room couch (dirt on back of couch from footprint? & metal gliders yanked out of couch legs by dragging) TV cabinet, (at least 9 half-dime or larger dings to the moldings and edges & metal gliders yanked out), Master bedroom bedside table 1 (large wide scrape to the finish on top), Master bedroom bedside table 2 (several nicks/dings), Master bedroom cedar chest (large gouge to side). The contents of at least one box were shattered - it was pottery that was very special to me - There are many boxes I have not yet opened - be aware they do not guarantee boxes will not be damaged. They did not properly wrap furniture before putting it on the dolly. I should have insisted that we look carefully at all pieces of furniture before they left, but Matt Toney was in a big hurry to "get the truck back". My foolish mistake.
