I loved her little shop and really loved getting a little perspective from a generational potter. Both her mother's and father's family were potters and she was one of five kids who were raised making pottery and feeding the farm animals. She talked to me about how as a small kid- you would make 100 coaster a day to start. Once you were consistent enough, you could move onto bowls. Her shop was filled with production pottery and I felt a little sad that this was work for these families and not the artistic outlet that pottery is to me. She also shared one technique I had never heard of and now I am itching to try! I picked out two little syrup pitchers from her shop- I thought they were adorable and our Bed and Breakfast was using them- so I was inspired to bring some home with me. I truly enjoyed this little stop and Mrs. Potts made a lasting impression on me!
