I connected with them on Facebook.. Last week, a much more deep and personal need arose, with the passing of our dear mother. The normal thing to do would've been to call the funeral home that has provided care to our family for generations. However, when the question was asked, the name that came out of my mouth was "Smith's". I won't say that I didn't waffle inside of my head, but after my brothers and I met with Jason, we were reassured that we made the right decision. Jason and Cathy are the epitome of a perfect team. They were patient (and boy was their patience tested with me) and kind, forthright and accomodating. I know our momma was so proud of the care that she received. I, personally, felt an overpowering sense of family. On the day of the funeral, I prepared a touching and accurate eulogy. However, technology and I weren't working so well together over the last couple days. I had to decide whether to forego my personal eulogy to my mother or wing it. Jason snapped me out of my emotions and told me to trust him, speak from the heart and don't sweat the small stuff. I didn't remember everything I had written but I feel like I was able to appropriately convey what my mother meant to us. As with any service provider, any of the local funeral homes could care for your loved one, but none will care for your loved one like Cathy and Jason. It wasn't a business contract, it was family taking care of family. I rarely, if ever, give a 5 star rating, because rarely is anything perfect. Our experience with Jason and Cathy was nothing less than perfect. There wasn't a request that they couldn't accommodate. There is nothing they couldn't/wouldn't do. Their chocolate lab (comfort companion), Coco, adds to the atmosphere of family with our mother being the center of attention. I would ask, do you want a service or do you want a family experience? We made the right choice.

From the moment they opened the door to welcome us in they began to help put at us ease and help us through this difficult process. They are warm and caring people that realize how difficult this process is and are there to support you through the entire process. Dotty is excellent at listening to the family and pulling out details that are incorporated into the service to make it as personal and as unique as the loved one was. The facility is fantastic. Plenty of parking, a full kitchen and child play room complete with Fish tank and plenty of things to help keep the little ones busy. The chapel is large and they allow you to personalize the decor, encouraging you to bring personal items that reflect your loved one's life. Dotty and Pat were there for anything we needed or wanted. They were professional and personal, if that is even possible. I cannot thank them enough for all they did and all their help through the entire process. I was particularly impressed with the respect they showed for my husband and our family during one of the hardest times in our lives. Please be wary of other places that may quote you lower prices. If you ask questions, by the time you are actually done, there are additional fees which make their costs well above what Affordable Cremations charges. The prices on the Affordable Cremation website are the actual cost with no hidden fees. I would highly recommend their services.

Well, I was wrong.The owner, Danielle, does not know the laws r/t POA and legal decision-making which cost my loved one's estate thousands of dollars in attorney's fees. She also made changes to the obituary at the request of an individual who did not have the authority to make any decisions. Not only did Danielle change the obituary without my approval, she didn't even have the courtesy to let me know that she made changes. The owner was unprofessional and refused to do the right thing for my loved one who ended up spending 21 days in their care because she refused to "get involved." She had no problem taking my loved one's money. Shameful behavior from a so called "professional" who cares about the people she supposedly cares for in the end.
