MD market is one of my favorite Asian food markets in the region. My wife and I have shopped here for years and love the unique assortment of goodies available here. The service is good and any time I have been in search of something the staff have been there to help me find it. Tonight it was woodeard mushrooms for Tom Yum soup, Thai Basel, mushrooms, mochi, and boba pearls. What a great meal we had. We certainly will be back.

Love MD Oriental! I don't get by there as often as I used to, since I don't live close by any more. But when I do go, I load up on goodies. The vegetables here are awesome, and seem to last two to three times as long in the fridge, as the veggies I buy elsewhere.

Needed meat n sense I dropped the kid in college i said why not! Found a decent size fresh Lobster for $15.28 n found Quail! I want to crack em n grill em nicely. Probably do a nice lobster bisque or do a nice lobster Risotto! Saw a couple more cute cups n dishes. Frog legs in the freezer isles. I bought them before, very tasty done by smoking them in nice soy, n spice rubs.

I LOVEEEE the MD. They're my closest Asian market so of course I go here often for anything I need, and they always have it. They just expanded and I love it ! They've got a section for fresh baked goods and Boba now (I haven't tried the Boba yet, but I will soon). I love their fresh bread, the red bean bun might be my favorite. I bought some frozen Mantou (Wei Chuan and Chef Hon brands) here recently, it was so delicious. The prices are very cheap and the products good quality ! I will warn that there is a strong fish smell, but that's normal in places where they keep live fish and serve it fresh. if you're looking for somewhere to stock up on Asian food stuffs, look no farther because MD will have it 90% of the time.

Except for making Filipino Lumpia (& requiring the frozen Spring Roll wrappers to make it), I am a novice w/ regard to Oriental Markets, so keep that in mind as you read this review. I found this to be a nice market for anyone seeking foods & beverages from approximately 14 countries: Australia; China; Cambodia; Canada; Hong Kong; India; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; Nepal; Philippines; Singapore; & Sri Lanka. There is a very good variety, & it's a relatively large store. The are four MD markets in the Tampa Bay area. If it's saute pans, flying pans; pots, woks, steamers; kitchen tools; bowls; cups; chopsticks; an insulated thermos; coffee cups & pots; tea pots & accessories; & rice cookers (etc.) you seek, the aisles are long & well-stocked-- just an extensive variety @ decent prices. SEE PIC. In the far back of this market is a seafood counter w/ tanks. Some of the tanks could use a good cleaning, but the fishes; lobster; crab; eel; frogs; & other interesting live sea creatures appeared healthy. Two somber-looking staffers were working behind the counter-- see pic. There is one long refrigerated case of packaged meat along the back wall; & at least two displays of fresh produce. The produce was BEAUTIFUL-- ALL very fresh. The meat was very good in color & texture. I had fun checking out the pork kidney, pork spleen, & pork liver, as well as the duck tongue. There are also refrigerator cases of packaged fish & other such water creatures. Vertical & horizontal floor freezer cases hold MANY food items: a variety of eggs; Tofu; buns; dumplings; spring rolls; desserts; ice-creams; appetizers; veggies; meats; & a gazillion more food items that I found fascinating. (This is a market that makes browsing fun.) There were also many refrigerator cases; I was especially surprised to find many varieties of hotdogs-- SEE PIC. Within the walls of this store is an elongated aisle of rice & one of noodles (and a refrigerator case of them to the far left as you enter). There's also an aisle of teas-- SO many teas. Many other food items sat in plastic bags & cartons on selves, including kelp & dried fungi. Almost all the aisles were well-stocked except one. The store was not spotless, but it was satisfactory. All food products were price-marked-- shelves were labeled & prices were visible. Not one of the items I handled had an expiration date that had passed. I had difficulty locating a staff member to assist me in my trek for frozen Bao Buns (Korean). Once I finally located an older gentleman, he didn't seem to understand me. In fact, he kept pointing to the non-frozen rack of dessert rolls. I was on my own. Employees spoke Chinese; however, the manager spoke English at the register while discussing payment. I love hearing foreign languages (and expect to hear them in an Oriental Market), but it would have been nice to have at least one employee on the clock who was fluent in English for those of us who unfortunately took five years of French. Additionally, not one of the five employees I encountered was friendly-- not even the female cashier who was at the register as I checked out. Basic eye contact & a smile would have been appreciated. Perhaps there was a language barrier & she was afraid I'd initiate conversation and/or it's a cultural aspect-- who knows. Perhaps I'm too picky-- could be. As Oriental markets go, prices here appear lower to me than that of the other markets I've frequented. The checkouts have plexiglass & accept cash, credit & debit cards. Masks are mandatory for customers & employees. There is generous parking. Currently, no business shares the lot. Standard metal grocery carts are located in front of the store, & there are plastic carry ones stacked just inside the door. I'll definitely return for additional Spring Roll wrappers to make Lumpia, & to grab more Bao Buns (which are located in a floor freezer case near checkout). The colorful, fresh produce will draw me back in as well. Yup, this three-market chain that serves North & South Tampa, Brandon, as well as Pinellas Park, is definitely worth your time.

St. Pete's location is without a doubt the best one. This one is too smelly and a bit disorganized. I really couldn't find much of what I was looking for. There's not much filipino items here. Items I'd find before is not available. I'm sure shipping is much more difficult since Covid, but why does the other store have more and why are they much more organized. I know it's bc of the space being different, but I won't be back here in a long time. Customer Service also is ehh.

Do they sell sushi grade tuna?

This is an old question... but thought I would answer. Kotobuki Japanese market does sell frozen sushi grade Tuna, as well as other fish and seafood. It is excellent!

2nd time visiting and it is never enough time to go through the whole store lol this was at 3:30pm…read more I first stopped at the Korean beauty store and bought myself two things. The two ladies were so nice and one helped me pick out sunscreen that was similar to another brand they don't carry. They even gave me a free face mask with my purchase. Second stop with the bakery place and got me a matcha. It wasn't the best matcha I've had but wasn't the worst. They had so many baked goods that I had to just keep walking because I would've spent some moneyyyy in there. Next, I hit up the small food court and got me a Korean corn dog (just sausage, no cheese because.... Well Iykyk) and it was so delicious. I'm still thinking about it as I'm laying here in bed. Lastly, I walked around and got me some unique flavored chips and drinks along with some Ube flavored items If you love Asian food, snacks, drinks, skincare... this is your place!

I finally got to go back and experience everything without the crowd. It's still a strong 4. Food…read morecourt is optimized where you order from the kiosk so that was quick and easy. The only restaurant not participating in that was bbq Korean and no one was at the front so I guess no business for them. Plenty of fruit selections as well as meats and side dishes. Snacks and pots and cookers -- it's everything you needed before you knew you needed it. Loved the selection and prefer this one over the Orlando location, it's still just too far out but great prices and got what we needed and wanted.
