Never been to PR to surf before so received some quick tips (avoid the anemone's!) and off we went to Surfers beach. You have to drive down there, so not exactly "on the water" but very close. You could walk it if you wanted to. Probably should have asked for more details because there are two main places to "launch" (basically west or east of the point) and the waves are different. Lots of current that you have to fight initially to get out to deeper water. Overall, the shop provided good / quick service and the price for the day was $33 so happy with the choice.

When we first walked in, the owner started complaining that we didn't come in earlier (what?) My husband found a few shirts for himself and some other things, minimum purchase $200- the owner started turning off the lights and said to my husband very rudely, "5:00 is 5:00," while we were headed to the register. We put our purchases back and started walking out. I commented to my husband that the " "5:00 is 5:00," comment really upset me. The owner, as he closed the door said to us "Whatever!" So I guess he didn't want that sale. Regardless, we won't be returning, nor recommending the shop for anyone coming to town. On the positive side, the woman was very nice!
