It is a very modern park that is lined with the rubbery surface that most of the new parks are using. It has a half basketball court with an adjustable rim. The court is in great shape and has a bench along the baseline for spectators to sit and watch. You will find a very nice paved walking/jogging trail that goes around the perimeter of the park, as well as trails leading to the park from nearby neighborhoods. The bathroom facility at the park is very well maintained and is one of the better ones that I have seen in a park. They serviced the restrooms and trash while I was there. The park has two picnic shelters with tables under it and one has a couple of grills just outside of it. The playground is awesome. It has top-notch modern equipment. One side of the playground area has a very nice large jungle gym with a couple of slides, one of which is a spiral slide. There is also a bank of swings with traditional and ADA swings, a spinning net sphere, a pull up bar, and an interactive light game. This side is intended for 5 and older, but my 3 year old spent most of his time over here. On the other side is play equipment for smaller kids. There is a bank of toddler swings, a small jungle gym with a tunnel and slides, a couple of see-saws, a modern merry-go-round, and an expression swing. In between both area is some picnic tables and percussion musical instruments. Both play areas have benches on one side of it for parents to sit and on the other side (outer perimeter) are some workout equipment between some more benches, under a nice shade bearing awning. The workout equipment is intended for those over 14 years old. The equipment happens to face the respective playgrounds, so parents can get their workout on while keeping an eye on their littles. On final feature of the park is its green space. There is a patch of grass that can be used for playing catch, soccer, football, or flying a kite. It can also be used for working out or having a picnic. The only downfall of this space is that it is like in like a little crater. So, it gets very soggy after rain and snowfall and takes a while to dry. I really like this park. My littles and I spent about 2 hours here. It is not very big, spanning 5 acres, but still has a lot to do. This is definitely a destination park and was well worth the 40 minute ride for me to get here.

The playgrounds are great and seemed pretty inclusive of most age ranges. There's a lot of climbing areas, some more like steps and some ropes and ladders, so they vary the challenge level. This was great for the littles I was with (4-5 yo) and still interesting for older kids I saw playing. Toddlers have their own little playground off to the side. They do have a glider for wheelchair users, but I don't think the rest of the main equipment would be accessible. Maybe the swings for some. There are a lot of mature trees off to one side and at least one picnic table over there. When the trees bloom for the year, it's going to be beautiful! They have a sand volleyball court, paved walking path, and I spotted a few more sports areas--basketball, soccer. There's potentially a lot to do here! Bathrooms were close to the playground and clean. It's close enough to go grab coffee or ice cream after as well, which in my opinion, makes it great for a day of fun. I'll look forward to seeing the park again later this spring/summer!

You will also find an aquatics center, picnic areas, playgrounds, a merry-go-round, Tom Thumb mini golf, a disc golf course and tons of wide-open green space. It is adjacent to a golf course, as well. On this day, we were going to visit the pool area but found that the majority of pool chairs had already been claimed, so we opted for a picnic instead. We stopped by the nearby KFC and grabbed some chicken and sides. I keep folding chairs and blankets in the trunk of my car for just this sort of occasion, so we laid out a couple of blankets and enjoyed some fresh air, vitamin D directly from the sun, and literally touched grass. It was nostalgic, calming and peaceful. There were several other groups of people present. There were parents with young children on the playground. There was a group hosting a baby shower underneath one of the picnic shelters. There were several young ladies and women enjoying the swings. There was a group of teenagers/young adults listening to music and tossing a ball around. We also observed several young men enjoying the skate park (I forgot to mention the skate park earlier) and riding e-bikes and bicycles around the park as well. There were several barbecues/cookouts taking place as well. There is, indeed, something for everyone to do and enjoy here. I was happy to see such a mix of people of all ages, ethnicities, and sexes present to enjoy this beautiful space.

Nothing to write home about. The field itself is decent and can be used for flying a kite, playing football, playing soccer, or playing catch. There is an unpaved jogging/walking/running trail that looks like it is a quarter of a mile that goes around the field. There is also a have court basketball goal that is ok. The goal is in good shape, but the court itself could use some TLC. Still a decent spot to make it rain though. There is a covered pavilion with a grill and picnic tables under it. It was well maintained as well as the fields. There is a small playground on the park's grounds. There you will find some older model swings, a see-saw and a jungle gym with a slide. A more accurate rating would be 3.5 stars, but I went with the higher end. It is a nice park and there were a few people there while I was. Some were on the playground, a few were running the trail and there was a guy doing pitching practice on the field. I admit that there are better parks in the area, but this serves it purpose and is a decent alternative.

The park is one of Indy's better…read moreequipped residential parks - certainly not a destination park, however, it's a more inclusive and family friendly park with some ADA features worth noting. Greene Park has a comfort station with a mural of Dr. Maya Angelou on it. There's also a memorial here dedicated to Indiana AIDS advocate Ryan White, whose story continues to resonate. Greene Park has relatively new playground equipment including ADA and toddler swings, an ADA jungle gym, a percussion set, monkey bars, tunnels, and lots of places for the kids to play including a splash pad. There's also four tennis courts. The park has quite a bit of green space (seems appropriate, eh?) with picnic tables that offer some distance from the park's features to allow for family time or quiet time. There are also some short, easy walking paths within and around the park. Jake Greene Park is relatively small at 10.1 acres and was founded in 1971. Like Yelper Tank G., I wrestled with whether to offer this park a 3 or 4-star rating and leaned heavily toward 3-stars. However, I'm also somebody who appreciates parks with ADA features and despite this park needing some love I do feel like those ADA features have been well cared for here. So, I'm going to go with a 4-star review while noting this really isn't a destination park and could definitely use some additional upgrades.

It is on a bed of wood chips and its equipment includes a bank of ADA/toddler/traditional swings, a percussion set, a quad pod spinner, a merry-go-round, and a large jungle gym with a bunch of slides, monkey bars, and tunnels. The jungle gym is ADA accessible with a ramp that leads to the top.The equipment is in good repair. The park has a large patch of clear green space that could be used for picnics, football games, soccer games, flying a kite, or playing catch. Off to the side of the green space is where you will find a nice tree shaded area with some picnic tables and benches to sit. It look like there is a meeting area over there with benches around a big rock too. There are paved paths that run through the shaded area and around the permiter of the park. The last amenity that the park has is a very nice set of 4 tennis courts that are side by side and fenced in together. The park could use a bit of maintenance and was riddled with trash all over, but it is still good. I was on the fence between a 3 and 4 star review with this one, and thought that it was closer to a 4 than a 3. This is definitely a park to check out, especially in the Summer when the splash pad is up and running.

They also have three covered pavilions, with picnic tables and grills that are available to rent. I actually had one of my kids birthday parties there. There is also a restroom facility, which is closed during the winter. They had two porta-pottys set up in front of the facility when I was there. Additionally, the park has a wheelchair accessible trail (zero grade, 1/4 mile asphalt) and a 3/4 mile asphalt hiking trail. It is open from dusk to dawn. The playground is all accessible have some nice equipment, including an interactive arch. The ground is made of the rubbery service that does not get your kids dirty, and protects them from scrapes. Right next to the playground is the sensory music area and a little kids basketball goal, that stands about 3 or 4 feet high. I dunked a few balls to make sure it was in good working order. The park is well maintained. The hiking trail is dual purpose, it is a story trail and a fitness trail. There are kids' storyboards all along the trail to read as you move from one to the next. The story is changed seasonally. There is also fitness equipment, such as pull up bars and parallel bars, spaced along the trail as well for those that want the fitness option. The basketball court is a full court and is decent. The rims have nets, which is a plus. What I really like about the park is that it is far off of the road, giving it a more quiet and tranquil feel. At the front of the park as an art exhibit consisting of painted rocks signifying how everyone is different.

There is a 3/4 mile paved walking trail that has a bit of a slope, not enough to stress about just enough to get you blood flowing and heart beating. There are a few covered picnic areas. A basketball court. Bathroom facilities open in the summer (in the winter they sometimes offer porta-potties but I'd definitely use the restroom at home prior to my visit - just in case!) For those of you who play Pokémon go the park has 4 gyms and a few stops. Always a fun place to play. It opens at dawn and closes at dusk and has a locking gate, so no stragglers will be left behind
