If you're in Brampton/Mississauga and are Hindu, this is a great place to go for services. Staff is very sensitive & caring, they asked a lot of pertinent questions and were able to do DocuSign so I didn't have to keep going in person. They also sent me a casket brochure so I could make the choice at home. I didn't even ask for it, but soft, south Indian music was playing during my dad's ceremony. They also had ghee lamps & dhoopam (incense sticks) ready, as well as an enclosed homam/havan pit that was portable and had its own exhaust system. I hadn't asked for any of this thinking it wouldn't be available, but they anticipated my needs and had it all ready. We sent pictures of my dad and they had them rotating on a slideshow during the ceremony. So you don't have to bring a physical photo. The place is BIG so the cremation facility is not connected to the main office building. But everything inside is so cozy and comfortable, and there are couches & carpeting in both main halls. For my dad, they transported his casket in a hearse to the cremation facility, and our family drove down the laneway behind it. They also had the ashes ready for me the very next morning upon my request. Really caring and professional staff. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Unfortunately, my grandpa passed away last week and we held his funeral service here at Meadowvale. My grandpa wished to be cremated and Meadowvale was the place he specifically chose in his will. Kasey and Abby were absolutely wonderful. Working at a cremation and funeral center definitely isn't an easy job and you're working with people during some of the most difficult times of their lives, but they were so, so, so kind and made everything easy as can be. Meadowvale itself is beautiful and modern, the furthest thing I'd expect a funeral center to be (I was imagining something from Six Feet Under ha!). There's a visitation room, lounge, a funeral room, and reception room, so everything is under one roof. The day of the funeral everything was already set up for us by the time we got there and my grandpa's ashes were displayed in a beautiful urn at the front of the services room. In the reception room, they had AV equipment and TVs, so that we could play a tribute video throughout the reception. They also bring in a caterer (Jan & Jan, I believe), who provided the best little finger sandwiches and cookies. They also have colouring books for the little ones (I also partook in colouring), so that they're distracted and not running wild. I love that they have an online obituary where guests can leave messages for the family and people can send flowers directly to the funeral home. Even though it was a sad day, I was beyond impressed with how organized and smooth everything ran. This is all thanks to Meadowvale. So... a review about a funeral home. I've been here twice, once for a not so close family member's funeral and another for a funeral that we booked ourselves. I have to say, if I die, let me get a viewing here fam cause I really like this place. I'm not sure if they do multiple funerals at the same time, but ours was alone and it was really quiet and peaceful. The foyer/lobby was really spectacular but I just really enjoyed the architecture of the whole place. They have extremely high ceilings for the "viewing room" and there's lots of seats as well as tissue boxes and stuff everywhere. They have many rooms, including a lounge where coffee and tea is served, as well as other rooms that we did not really use. There's so much space everywhere and not once did it ever feel crowded or overwhelming. It's also very clean. Our funeral director was Ben, and he is great. He made sure everything was running smoothly and he knew many different traditions so we were able to do everything we needed to do. The employees were all very accommodating, respectful, made sure to direct our guests properly, and never made it about themselves. So in conclusion, if you come to my funeral, I'll be here if I can't find a better one in Markham! read more

My sister was buried at meadow vale, the funeral home said my sister was being send to an different place where she would be dressed and makeup to be done and then brought back to the home. The day of the funeral, we was in shock to see how poorly the make up was done, even her eyebrows was not done. It look like the funeral slap on some poor color paste on my sister face.It was awful for the family to see my sister like this. My niece and myself had to put makeup on my sister.I believe she was never send out to get her make up done. read more

We chose to use the funeral services at Meadowvale because my father was already buried there, and because of the continuing Covid restrictions - we thought we could save ourselves and our guests some trouble by using their funeral facility before the internment, since the grounds are very beautiful, and the facility had everything we needed. The trouble with the place is the staff. I heard more than once about how much experience this and that person had, but their lack of attention to detail and their tendency to be rude showed that they don't really care about their clients, and don't seem to understand that the quality of service is in those details. I felt like they were doing the bare minimum, since it's not like your grief is anything unique or special to them. So don't be taken in with how nice the place looks - I would recommend using a different place for the funeral services. read more

Nice grounds at Meadowvale. My parents are resting there. I had thought about pre-planning/paying my own funeral with Mount Pleasant Group until last week when I purchased two small urns for $140. I spent $140 on those two very small urns and did not even hear a word of thanks. You see, manners and gratitude are extremely important to me and when I go into the community and spend my money, I really want to hear "thank you" from the person serving me as they are representing the business. If they cannot thank me for my $140, there is no way I would spend a penny more with them by pre-planning/paying for my own funeral. read more
