I live alone and I was finding my groceries often go bad before I can ever eat them myself. I've been looking for a meal delivery service for years and years and have tried them all over that timespan and never found out that stuck. I'm so thankful to have finally given Mealbox a try after hearing about it a few years back. I never ended up trying it because it wasn't customizable at the time for the packs and I don't eat any seafood but now they have added the ability to subscribe and choose your meals every week. As soon as I tried my first meal I immediately was on the website ordering next weeks meals. I was super impressed with the quality and taste. No other meal delivery plan even comes close to these. I love the variety of the menu changing every week and giving me the opportunity to try new things and find my favorites. There will always be things I don't like as much as others but the stuff I've liked I've LOVED! I see myself continuing to subscribe to Mealbox which has made it super convenient for me and supports local business. They also offer Family Packs if you do have a big family for easy yummy meals and delivery is free with weekly delivery! Don't know if this is a good eatery and food delivery service or not. The cost of individual meals is "far" in excess of what I can make a quality, tasty meal for at home. As I age and being single, and having been poisoned by the camp lejeune toxic water with growing health issues, sometimes being on my feet long enough to make a gourmet meal here is prohibitive, thus some pre-prepared quality meals would have been nice despite the cost. Further, I live nearby his business and expressed to save him a tad of effort and cost for his and my benefit, I could simply stop by and pick up my orders as they became available. I emailed my query to him soas to not disturb him if he was elbows deep in something, to be respectful and considerate, versus a call. What I do know is I used his own website email to ask I think 3 basic, easy questions. I also provided a phone number to share his responses so he need not type it out for his convenience, but I did not get a professional, courteous, respectful response at all. In fact I received zero response! Apparently the owner didn't see my business as valuable, nor take into account I may belong to 3 major size clubs in Omaha, all with at minimum 600 members .... whom I would have shared positive reviews with to help grow his business. This is a poor business model, disrespectful, denigrating, and my business was not wanted. When a business person refuses to dial a phone and take literally 30 seconds or so to reply to an inquiry, usually tells me all I care to know. I guess it was beneath his dignity to respond to a smaller volume potential customer's inquiry. I have immense life and large scale management experience over decades - in life and death businesses, and a good grasp on human thought and how it manifests itself to others, and this gent sent some very negative energy. I had the privilege of trying out MealBox Omaha at LITfest this year and was absolutely blown away by the flavor and quality of the food! I came to the buffet line around 8pm -- 2 hours after they started serving but all the food was served hot, and the flavors were absolutely bursting! The sauces sounded strange to me (especially vegan queso paired with the roasted cauliflower) but I'm so glad I trusted their pairings since every sauce absolutely complimented its counter dish! The vegan queso may have been my favorite--so impressive that they made this vegan! Sweet potato bites were a close second with what I believe was a balsamic reduction, the perfect sweet compliment to the bite. This past Friday, I had the opportunity to try delicious foods catered by MealBox, for an event that my office was hosting. We worked with Rachel to get everything set up. Her attention to detail, personality, and setup was all amazing, not to mention the APPEARANCE of the food and the enticing AROMA of the hot dishes. Even before I tried the food, it was very pleasing to the senses. I tried every hot dish, and will provide reviews of those items here. However, I want to make it clear that MealBox's main business on their website (www.mealboxomaha.com) is premade meals, expertly prepared by head chef Will Birge. Chef Will has worked in a variety of restaurants and attended the Metro Culinary Institute. In 2022, he was voted 1st Place for Best of Omaha's Best Chef. As of today (10/17/2022), they offer Weekly Meal Delivery (Sunday delivery), Special Occasion Catering (Small to large with customizable menu, served individually or buffet style), and Personal Chef Services. The meal delivery looks delicious with chef-crafted meals delivered right to your door and are made to warmed up in around 2 minutes. Current offerings include Honey-Garlic Pork Tenderloin, Berry Chicken Salad, Carne Asada and more! You can order them individually starting at $15, order them in a FAMILYBOX, or in a "Meal Deal" for larger quantities and a small discount. Let me get the charcuterie platter reviewed first. The presentation was amazing! A wide assortment of meats, cheeses, etc. The pickles, the honeycomb, and the various pastes/sauces were all very displayed well and complimented everything well. I also have no idea how to make a deli meat look like a flower, but it was on here and it was spectacular! My only critique here (and maybe the only in this whole review lol) was that it was served with large crackers, which were too big for the cheese cubes, so I might have gone with smaller crackers or thick cheeses. The first item I noticed was the deviled eggs, made with aioli, dijon, and smoked paprika. These had a hint of lemon, olive oil, and chives. First off, as someone that loves deviled eggs but hates making them, I appreciated the enormous platter. The perfectly peeled eggs and a perfect presentation immediately jumped out to me, but the taste was great too! I definitely picked up on flavors that I don't taste in deviled eggs (aioli, lemon, dijon), but definitely took these to the next level! Incredible taste, great texture, and a wonderful start! (10/10 for these) Next up, I tried the spinach and artichoke dip, paired with lavosh. I've always had this dip with cheap crackers or bread, but the lavosh was a clever pairing. The dip itself had great consistency, thick enough to sit on the lavosh but very creamy. The fontina cheese added great depth to this as well! (solid 9/10 here). The pot stickers were also delicious (everything was - I CANNOT overstate that). The filling was tasty but simple, and the matching ginger-sesame sauce was delicious on top. The presentation was very classy with black sesame seeds, which also added texture to the potstickers. Personally, this was the least favorite of all the items BUT that's only because everything was so good! I would eat these anytime if the other items weren't available (in fact, we had leftovers of these and I'm happy about that!) (8/10) Next up is the honey sriracha chicken meatballs with a honey-sesame glaze/sriracha aioli. I love spicy, but on this one, I tried the aioli, but on repeat servings, I went with just the meatballs. I felt that the aioli took away from the simple and very flavorful glaze. These were my second favorite item that we had. The meatballs had excellent texture, held together well and tasted delicious. There was a bit of heat and sweet that complimented each other really well. The slaw made a great compliment as well to cool down the tongue if you need. Good glaze, great texture, and simple yet delectible. (10/10 - great party food). Finally, my favorite item...I had to stop myself from eating these because I needed to make sure there were some for our guests, but the highlight for me was the smoked brisket bites. These were so tender - they held together on the fork but broke down as soon as they hit my mouth. There was a perfect compliment of meat and fat, and there is not a single word for how good these were. The Omaha sauce added a bit of sweetness, but these would be good with or without the sauce depending on what you like. (12/10 - this is my rating scale, so I'm going higher than 10). If I had to eat only these for my whole life, I would be a very big and happy man! I was extremely impressed with MealBox and strongly recommend that you give them a try! I did not get a chance to meat Chef Will, but the food he created was amazing and spoke for itself. It was nice to meet Rachel and she did an excellent job setting up and making sure we were ready to go. This is an award winning chef, and an amazing local company - highly recommended!! read more

I first learned of Mealbox recently from a local food influencer whose opinion I trust and then I started following their social media to learn a little more about the business and see what to expect. I took the plunge and placed my first order for the "Variety Pack" which includes 5 regular meals, 3 Leanbox meals and a couple of extras including the overnight oats flavor of the week and a roast beef wrap. So far my expectations have been met and exceeded! Ordering online was easy, the meals were delivered promptly at the time anticipated on Sunday, and the meals themselves have been incredible. Some I like better than others as expected but haven't had a bad one yet. It's amazing how they cook for 2-3 minutes in the microwave but they taste fresh and flavorful. The veggies are still crunchy and the meat isn't rubbery. It's like magic! The single portion meals are labeled for nutritional value and calorie count. They are very healthy and indicate whether they are gluten free, dairy free, spicy, low carb, or contain nuts. My spouse and I can easily share one container and be satisfied which makes the meals stretch further. I wish I had known about this service a few months ago when I had surgery! The chef, Will Birge, works with nearby farms so everything is fresh, organic and locally sourced. This is such a huge time saver for me on weekday evenings when I don't have the time or energy to cook a good quality meal after work. I highly recommend this delivery service. read more

I first ordered for a co-worker's meal train and it looked so delicious that I decided to try some for myself. I'm now on my fourth week straight of ordering. They offer a different variety each week, including larger portions for family meals. Prices are reasonable and I usually split one meal into two servings but you could surely each an entire one if you're hungry enough. All of the meals that I've ordered so far are a breeze to heat up, with each one taking only 2 - 2.5 minutes in the microwave. Extra bonus that you can reuse the containers for future leftovers. Free delivery to your porch on Sundays or $5 fee if you don't meet a certain minimum. The food always tastes fresh. The hummus snack plate I ordered had a great variety of veggies with such vibrant colors that it almost looked too pretty to eat. There is a membership program that you can sign up for and while I haven't investigated too deeply into that yet, it's on my list to do.
