Plus the most modern kitchen gadgets for today's gourmet chefs. I was blown away by the vintage glassware, cookware and the classic Tupperware Storage. All of it was in mint condition. All the Tupperware had their lids - lol. If you're into entertaining with vintage items, this is the place to shop. You will find stemware, serving dishes and cookware, as well. In addition to the vintage, the modern items were the same caliber as a Williams-Sonoma store, but with a privately owned flare. I enjoyed looking at all the little kitchen gadgets that fill my drawers back home. I also got overwhelmed looking at all of the whimsical cocktail napkins and tea towels. Both of those items are my weakness and I caved in a bought a couple of each. The owner was working the sales floor and was charming. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and helpful.

I would have been thrilled if you could get all 3 bottles for a discount, but that wasn't happening. They have a ton of t shirts for sale here. We picked up one for Ely, MN for about $25. They have a men's side and a women's side. The women's side had a ton of apparel. I found a cute shirt and shorts on sale. The fitting room is right there by the stairwell. I love a good sale. These times were not for Ely, they were just hiking/camping brands of clothing, but that's ok. A lot of the women's stuff was fairly plain. The back of the store has restrooms, art, and camping/fishing supplies. The front of the store has weapons and shoes. In fact, the gal who makes the moccasins was right there in the store, putting them together in real time! It was so cool to see how she was manipulating the leather. We did not take the stairs up to the second level; it appeared to be more of a bookstore up there. Parking is on the street.

It is staffed by one of the artist, so if you stop by you'll be able to meet one of these talented local artist. I was attracted to the jewelry and pottery. The beauty of the hand-crafted jewelry was amazing. The attention in detail, blew my mind. The pottery was so beautiful, I had to buy a piece for my master en-suite. The photography and paintings were mostly nature themed, which is not my personal taste, but they were something to behold. If you want a painting or photo of wild animals, they have something for you. The artist working the gallery the day we visited was delightful. She was so energetic and thrilled to talk about the artist we liked. If you're in Ely, take and make the time to stroll through this gallery and experience the amazing talent of these Boundary Waters artist.

My experience with the person running the store was not as 'friendly' as some of the other posters. I was greeted pleasantly and made small talk while browsing. All was going well until the man at the desk asked me if I was taking pictures on my cell phone. I was standing near the front counter using my cellphone to text my friend where to meet me. I was so insulted and embarrassed in front of other customers. So be warned - phones away and hands up if you shop there.

From first glance you may think this might be some antique or thrift store but it's not quite that at all. It's an art gallery and most of the items are made from separte dealers. There is so much to look at from dishes, to home decorations, pieces of art to hang on the wall, jewlery, magnets, and other great things to fill your home. The service here was wonderful and I managed to find a nature themed picture frame that had bark all around it. Cant wait to ad it to our nature area in our home from all of our hikes and kayaking trips. My only one complaint is that it is an art/ thrift store and they charge for the "fine" art that is there. We purchased an almost $3,000 couch one year ago in February. My husband was told that it was rated…read morefor weight much higher than him and that it was leather. The couch seat has sunk and is no longer comfortable; in fact, it causes him back pain. He has Stage IV cancer and his treatments cause severe fatigue so he needs a place to recline lest he spend entire days in bed. He called Slumberland to see what could be done to remedy this and someone came to look at it and confirmed that yes, it is need of repair. The manager called and my husband was told that the one-year warranty had expired in February, two months prior, and that they could give him a number for someone in Ely to fix it. The "leather" on the headrest is peeling and the manager told him that sometimes leather reacts to certain things in a person's body and causes that. My husband informed her that no, leather doesn't do that but "pleather" does and he was told that the couch was leather. She then looked up the specs and sent them to him (see photo).So, apparently the back part is made of something different than the seating??? She said that he was already given a $700 some dollar discount because it was a floor model and there was nothing more they could do. So, really? We are supposed to stick more money into a couch that we already paid over $2,000 for? We paid extra for the extended plan but of course, since the peeling leather wasn't an "accident" it isn't covered. I guess we should have lied. Buyer beware! Slumberland claims on their website that satisfaction is guaranteed but when it comes down to it, it is not.
