We visited The Mean Cow around 7 pm hoping for a decent dinner, but unfortunately, the experience was poor from start to finish. Accessibility Issues: The restaurant is difficult to find, located on the second floor of a Mexican Plaza mall. The elevators and escalators were both out of order during our visit. Having to carry an infant car seat and a stroller up a flight of stairs was a significant and unexpected hurdle that made simply reaching the restaurant a stressful experience. Not to mention to area is extremely sketchy! Poor Customer Service: Upon arrival, my family and I were denied indoor seating despite the cold weather, while carrying a newborn. We were forced to sit outside, which was very uncomfortable given the circumstances. This lack of accommodation was surprising and unwelcoming. Keep in mind we still had 45 min until they close. Food Quality: We ordered the double patty smash burger with fries. The food quality was underwhelming. The burger itself lacked flavor and was very mediocre. The fries were stale and seemed to be refried, not fresh. Final Thoughts: While we appreciate that this is a halal spot, the combination of the accessibility challenges, poor service regarding seating arrangements, and the subpar food quality means we will not be returning. The gps took me right there, but it's upstairs which I had to look around some. It's small but plenty of seating while I was there it appeared to be 50/50 eat in and take out. The people are super friendly and help me pick, I went with the number 2 which is a sandwich a tender(as big as a sandwich) and fries. I've always craved those animal-style fries from In-N-Out, and now I've found a spot that serves them with halal Australian wagyu! The burgers were absolutely to die for! My friends and I essentially ordered the same things but in different combinations. I got Combo #2 in medium spicy which came with a sandwich, tender, and fries. The tender stuffed in the sandwich was juicy with a crispy batter. Oddly enough, despite the deep red color of it being heavily coated in spice, it was not spicy at all for me. I could've definitely gone higher. That said, the tender was the perfect vehicle for the house sauce and it was made even better with the mac and cheese. I asked the owner what makes his mild chicken so tasty? He replied, "It's all in my seasoning! I use Lebanese spices too!" Needless to say it's authentic Nashville chicken WITH A TWIST (it does have a fusion taste) but it's good and flavorful. Everyone I know who comes through Mean Chix likes it spicy or extra spicy, but I'm out here ranting about mild and medium, so the "hot" and "extra hot" must be delicious! The fried pickles are on point too (hard to find). The sliders are solid. The "box" is good it comes with a bed of French fries (similar to the type served in middle school) you can get melted cheese on them, your sliders and the pickles, cabbage toppings. The tacos are good, for some reason the last two or three times I've had them they were cold which definitely makes them less enjoyable but my nephew pointed out it might be due to the coleslaw? It would be exciting to see quesadillas on the menu. I bet those would be fire! Btw this is located in plaza Mexico! The quickest way to access the restaurant is the parking lot next to Planet Fitness! Take the escalator up one flight and make a quick left turn! You can't miss it! Their Nashville chicken is pretty good too, better than all the other ones I've ever had, except for Howlin Rays, but it's still really good!
