Established in 2023.

Merkle Educational Counselling & Consulting officially launched in August, 2023. Jennifer Merkle (founder) has 20+ years of experience working in social services and education. She has experience working and volunteering for various social service agencies. Jennifer began her career working as a Personal Support Worker for K-W Habilitation Services and has a history of volunteering for Big Brothers-Big Sisters Peel, Peel Learning Foundation, and K-W Childcare Services. Jennifer has also held various educational roles which include: secondary school educator, Curricular Head of Social Sciences and Humanities, Instructional Coach (K-12), Vice Principal for Peel District School Board. With additional qualifications in Special Education and Guidance Counselling, Jennifer has the skillset needed to meet the complex needs of students and their families.

Meet the Business Owner: Jennifer M.

I am a proud mother, wife, aunt, educator, social justice advocate, and special education advocate. I have a Bachelor Arts Degree, am an Ontario Certified Teacher, and am currently completing my Master of Education. As a parent to three children who have very different learning needs, I have experienced the school system from the unique perspective of a parent as well as an educator. Advocating for loved ones who have special needs in Ontario’s education system has helped me recognize and appreciate the emotional strain families face as they make decisions about the education of their children. As a service provider in the education system, I know and understand the importance of involving family in the decision-making process. My personal and professional experiences have motivated me to offer private educational counselling and consulting services to students, families, and educators so that individuals can receive the time and attention that they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
