Whilst I was overseas, Mecca Cosmetica developed into the most important luxury brand beauty company in Melbourne and I'm ever so grateful that this store exists. All my favourite beauty brands are here - Stila, Nars, Laura Mercier, Bumble & Bumble - and others I didn't know about but that I'm so glad to have become acquainted with. One of the lovely things about Mecca is that they employ both male and female staff members. That was one thing I loved about Georges too. More men should work in make-up, it just totally works. The Mecca peeps are very careful to greet you and ask if you need assistance almost immediately upon entering their store, which is very nice unless you just want to be left alone to 'play' and each and every staff member approaches you in turn to ask you if you need help. Still, they're just trying to be helpful. And the great thing is that they don't mind if you do just want to have a play with all their make-up. You can apply and reapply lipstick to your heart's desire and there's never a shortage of tissues and make-up remover to keep the looks you want to create ever evolving. Excellent fun.
