Great service and honest. Perfect for the non-mechanically minded, he will explain everything in plain English. Not expensive either. He does everything including tyres and 4wd parts. Need performance parts this guy has got it covered too. read more

The Car Doctor

Imagine a world where the conversation you have with your mechanic is so simple that you walk away feeling like you're not going to walk into a thousand dollar bill because your brand new car needed new spark plugs, oils, tires, window tints, and more cup holders. Just imagine. Now stop imagining. The Car Doctor is that world. The service and the price provided to me by The Car Doctor has been astounding. Sure they are not your 5-star-esque mechanic, where you are greeted with champagne, a guy in a tux and crystal classes, no. They are your stereotypical mechanic, oil-stricken, men in wellworn overalls and smelling of every combination of car product in the universe, but their service is sublime. I walked into The Car Doctor worried that my incredibly overdue car would require servicing in the thousands. It was fifteen thousand kilometres overdue, and I was quite certain that it would require a few things replaced. However, as I walked in and had a conversation with the person manning the front desk I was assured that even in the worst case scenario it wouldn't even break the thousands. The person seemed confident, and so with a small doubt in my mind I gave them my keys and left to take an Uber to work. Eight hours later, my wife dropped me back off at The Car Doctor. With my wallet and trust clenched in my hand I walked in and asked the person that I've come back for the car. He asked for my name, my car and found the piece of paper which belonged to my vehicle. Stunned. Looking at the paper, he told me that they had completely replaced all of the car-things that they needed to replace. This included the oils, the filters, and a systematic check of all the functions of the car. And the cost? $300. My mouth dropped as this was significantly better than their 'worst case' scenario, and a significantly lower than the mechanics' quote from the dealer. It was fantastic. The experience I've had with The Car Doctor has been fantastic. It's not often that you find a mechanic who is upfront with their costs, honest with what they think they'll do, and actually maintain their integrity by charging exactly what they quoted you. I highly rate The Car Doctor, and will most definitely be back for my next service.

I absolutely do NOT recommend Alpine Motors in Phillip. I…read morehave never been more baffled by a business' conduct in both being taken advantage of and being subject to severe rudeness. My partner took my car there as it was displaying warnings about the suspension system. They diagnosed the problem as being the high pressure pump for the suspension and to replace this they would charge $800-900 to repair, $2600 for a new one. While investigating, they did not replace the large plastic cover that sits over the engine etc in the front bonnet. When my partner rang up to enquire (once he finally got through after a few days) the owner got on the phone and said he would have a look for it. He rang back and claimed they don't have it, they didn't remove it because they had no need to remove it for what they did. Said that without proof it was on there they don't believe they did it. Then to top off the insult he said that they were very picky about who they service and that "I don't think we'd do your car again" I took my car elsewhere and it turns out that there was an issue with a sensor and it cost a total of $284 to repair.
