(that I've seen) The building itself is extremely clean and maintained. and the MD, and NP's are knowledgeable and considerate. The hours of operation are very convenient and they accept almost any type of health insurance. *Not to mention they do drive up covid test (They do NOT do the Rapid covid test only the PCR test, which is the one that takes 3-5 days to get the results) I would definitely recommend this urgent care to anyone. read more

The only reason I'm leaving two stars here is because the ladies in the back who give you the PCR test are very nice. The two ladies upfront are extremely rude and very unpersonal. My husband and I had to get PCR test to leave the country and we were both called back at the same time and got swabbed. 30+ minutes go by and my husband walks up to ask the lady how long it's supposed to take and the one lady said " I don't know! When it comes out!"The other lady upfront responded 15 minutes per each test. We literally got our test done back to back within 60 seconds of each other. Absolutely RUDE to us and we were nice and waiting very patiently. On the way out we let them know they were rude. Our tests were negative btw. At $75 a pop You would think they could be kind. We even said thank you to the lady on the way out to which she turned her head and didn't say anything. It was after that that we told them how rude they were. read more

It's tough when you come down with a horrible cold while far from home. I'm from NYC, and was staying in Columbus for a few days before heading to Savannah, and I came down with a combination of bronchitis and a bad sinus infection. MedCare was the earliest clinic open, so I stopped in and hoped they took walk-ins without an issue. They do. The wait wasn't too bad, but as they didn't take my insurance I had to pay $100 up-front. But I got $25 back after I was seen, though I'm not sure why. I was examined by Dr. Ditaranto, who was very kind and straightforward. Out of the 4 medications he prescribed for me, two of them he found samples of in the back so I wouldn't have to spend as much money at the pharmacy. I can't exactly say "go here", since I don't wish anyone to be sick enough to need it, but if you do require medical attention that's not quite hospital-worthy, this is a good place to go. read more

Sadly this doctors office was not welcoming and they felt it necessary to impose a political agenda on me as a patient when coming to the office. I was seeking a simple procedure that I have had done nearly every 3 months for 25 years. This time however due to the pandemic they chose to make this a horrific nightmare. They also only feel that masks should be used and that face shields for those with underlying medical conditions involving oxygen is not acceptable. Due to my underlying conditions I can't wear a mask but at least I make an effort to protect others with a face shield. They insulted me and shamed me even for my attempt to be socially responsible. read more

I have been to Medcare twice in 30 days because I couldn't get an appointment with my doctor on short notice. I called my insurance company to get a list of urgent care facilities that take my insurance. I chose this one because it was the closest. The front desk staff were super nice and I saw Dr. Flynn back in March and yesterday when I returned again with different symptoms Dr. Flynn saw me again and he remembered me! He's a really conscientious doctor and listens to his patient to take care of their ailments and concerns. I will return again whenever I can't get an appointment with my PCP. The nurses in the back were nice also. I'd recommend Medcare to anyone needing to see a doctor in short notice. read more

My provider is Melissa, a beautiful, intelligent person who cares deeply and passionately about her patients. I hope to be seen by her for the rest of my life. Carmen is a sweetheart, she has always been there for me, never gave me hard time when I had to reschedule appointments because I lost a ride. Lovely lady indeed. Jennifer, the office manager goes way beyond her call of duty to help me with anything I need: paperwork, emotional support...heck, she even draws my blood because the phlebotomist they have is too rough and freaks me out (I have a phobia of needles). Waste of time. They don't have any M.D.s that work here, so they can't write a prescription for anything other than antibiotics. I came here after moving to the area to find a doc to keep tabs on my ADHD meds, but you need an actual Dr for that. They list a doctor on the sign, but nope not really...and only told me that after they got my paperwork, with my reason for visiting, and I spent an hour in the waiting room. read more

The front office staff today was rude and acted as if they didn't want to be there and like I was bothering them. Went to check in and older lady with pink glasses and rhinestones who I think is Carmen was just rude to me the whole time. One of those people that you feel like she hates her job and could care less why you are there. I didn't say anything but I tried to call office manager to let her know the front desk needs some human decency training but they were out to lunch so I'm writing a review on Yelp. I came here two years ago with my baby who had an ear infection and I had to fly back to Vegas the next day. My sister and brother-in-law come here and referred us since we're from out of town and not familiar with urgent cares here. I was disappointed with the front office staff and my interaction with them and watching their interaction with others. The Nurse Practitioner however was very nice and helpful. The girl at check out barely acknowledged me. I think her name on her uniform was Brittany? I'm sick and can't remember. Both were just simply rude today. I guess I should have read the reviews before I took my child. I don't think the staff realize a poor attitude while working with children only show it's ok to have a poor attitude while at work. If your scheduled to work until a certain time, if people come in an hour or even half an hour before that time it's not the patients fault that you are still OPEN. Your being paid to do your job and have a job. Nurse was rude until she found out something was actually wrong with my child. Ridiculous! When my child notices someone is providing poor customer service and she is a child you should be ashamed of yourself. I won't be going back and would not recommend this to anyone with a child that is hurt. It's been over 24 hours and still no answer! Thanks for taking my money and not helping. I went in to this doctor because I was out of town, and had been in intense pain for about 5 days. By pain I mean every joint in my body, and my head. That is all. The doctor didn't listen to a thing I said, and diagnosed me with pharyngitis to which I told her my throat is one of the few things that doesn't hurt at all, and I have no drainage, but again she didn't listen. i went to medcare with many symptoms. i never saw the dr. but a doctors assistant. when i described my symptoms she would seem very confused when i clearly explained them very well. the doctors assistant gave me a prescription and sent me on my way with no answers and a 170 fee for.......... no answers... 4 days later my symptoms are worse and i decided to visit open arms near zaxbys on bradley park. the doctor provided me with a chest xray and asked multiple questions while taking blood samples. all these things only added up to be cheaper than medcare, and the results were serious. read more

I was in Columbus, GA with my husband over a long holiday weekend for a softball tournament, and developed a mild earache on the trip here from Charleston, SC. We were both fighting off early symptoms of a cold, and I hoped the ear discomfort would go away, or at least stay mild enough until we got back home and I could go to my preferred urgent care place back home. Of course, that's not what happened. The earache got worse by the day, and after the 2nd painful night I started thinking about finding an urgent care place in Columbus. The online reviews for most of the places weren't promising, and once I stopped hemming and hawing over whether to go or not, MedCare (the place with the worst reviews) was the only place left open. Faced with another sleepless night with a painful earache, I decided to take my chances at MedCare. We got there late in the day on a Saturday afternoon Labor Day weekend, and there were only a few cars in the parking lot, so it was a slow time. We were greeted as soon as we opened the door, quickly signed in and given paperwork to fill out. The paperwork CLEARLY stated their payment policies and required a signature that you read and understood. It included the requirement of $100 in advance without insurance coverage (as described in one of the reviews) with a statement that any amounts left over above the clinic visit charges would be refunded after the visit. (That's why the reviewer got $25 back!) My insurance WAS accepted, but since I have a flat 20% co-insurance, I had to pay $50 in advance with the same conditions (as spelled out in the paperwork). There are no surprises if people are truthful when they sign their name stating 'I have read and agree to these terms'. (That means you actually read what you signed!) We didn't have long to wait once I had all the paperwork filled out and insurance details taken care of. They got us back quickly after that and the nurse took vitals and a quick strep check (I had sore throat too). Doc came in soon after (Dr. Anderson), and examined me. He was kind, thorough, and listened to what I had to say. We talked about treatment options (injections/prescription meds), I told him my preferences, and he wrote the orders. With the office visit, a strep test, two injections (steroid/antibiotic) and 4 prescriptions (oral steroid, oral antibiotic, ear drops, and pain meds), my part of the total bill was $59. (I paid an additional $9 at checkout). I couldn't have asked for better care anywhere else. The doctor and I made the treatment decisions together, he was willing to be as aggressive or as conservative with treatment as I was comfortable with. And we walked out less than an hour after walking in. That was 24 hours ago. Already my earache is resolving, and I'm glad I went. I couldn't have asked for better treatment. The place wasn't the most state of the art facility, and late on a Saturday on a holiday weekend we could have easily been met by staff impatient to close and get out of there for the holiday, especially since things were so slow. But that didn't happen. The receptionist, the 1st nurse (or med asst?) who initially took my vitals and strep test, the 2nd nurse who did an awesome job with the injections in my hip (hardly felt them!), and of course Dr. Anderson, ALL of them provided 1st class care, and that's what matters! If I'm ever back in Columbus, GA and need urgent care again while I am here, I won't hesitate to return to MedCare! read more

Horrible service. The front desk staff sits back and chit-chats rather than checking people in- resulting in a 30-40 minute waiting period to only be put on a list AGAIN to wait for the actual doctor. After finally seeing the doctor you're asked to wait, a third time, for another 10-15 minutes for them to hand you a simple prescription. The entire staff that I have personally encountered was rude and passive aggressive. If there is another option available to you I STRONGLY suggest going elsewhere. read more

The most unprofessional doctor's office I have EVER seen. Dr. Mecca should be ashamed of his front desk staff. I went with my husband and the entire time I sat in the lobby the ladies at the desk complained about every little thing, from their workload due to short staff to patient phone calls (many HIPAA violations there also) . So, my husband was in for a simple RX refill for blood pressure meds. He had an expired medication that works well but the NP (didn't see the doctor and was not offered a chance to). He was already taking one medication that worked well (Rx expired) but the NP insisted that it was not a "first line" treatment and prescribed another medication instead. After leaving the office reading the possible side effects and conflicts of the new med, my husband went back to see if there was any other option. The NP responded with "are you kidding me?" And said no. He explained that it did not have to be the same medication he was on before but she said there was no other option to treat high blood pressure, which is in fact an obvious lie. It seems she was offended as if he was questioning her ability which was not the case at all. We will never return to this place. read more

The physician, tamera, took one look and shrugged her shoulders. We were waiting for 2 hours to be seen when there was only a few (around 3 - 4) other patients. Next, she took one look at the problem and couldn't tell us anything else. She did not want to prescribe pain medicine, and eventually after being asked several times, gave us a sample which was dated 01/2009. The sample meds did nothing, and we learned after words that the dose was the lowest possible dose. This was a legitimate medical emergency which they did not even help. We thought it might be diabetes, because the entire family has it and NO BLOOD TEST WAS TAKEN, they could have just pricked her finger to test her blood sugar but she stated that its NOT WHAT IT WAS. THEY SAID IT WASN'T DIABETES WITHOUT EVEN TAKING A BLOOD SAMPLE TO TEST HER SUGAR LEVEL!!!!!!!! Now the problem has worsened and we are out of our money with no answer and 8 little sample pills which do nothing for the pain. The attitudes there were just absurd. They do not care. I wish i would have read these reviews before going. The only thing these people might be good for is taking money. I am looking into our options for recourse. I feel as if medical malpractice is a big issue with this place. After reading other reviews, I am willing to bet money that this place won't be around for long. read more

I would not take your child there!! My experience at this clinic was a nightmare! It was my first time there and my last. I took my two year old daughter to the clinic to have a cut by her eyebrow examined. The doctor that saw us wanted to use Dermabond, the liquid stitches. Since it was near the eye, the doctor was suppose to put Vaseline around the eye to prevent any run on entering the eye and gauze the eye shut. The doctor and her assistant failed to do both in order to protect my daughter's eye. When she applied the liquid it rubbed off into my child's eye! My kid was screaming. It was just awful! The corner of her eye was glued shut. And it stung my child's eye. They had to call 911. The staff was clearly not prepared using this product. They thought rubbing alcohol might take it off. I did not let them try and the doctor's assistant tried to tell me water would do the trick to take it off. Its common sense that once Dermabond dries it is like superglue, water was not going to work. We were rushed to an eye specialist that told me he would have to cut her lashes and place her under anesthesia but seeing my child so distressed he did not want too. If it does not dissolve within a week, we will have to go back have this done. I hope we do not have too because the lashes will not grow back for months if they are cut. It is now the second day since this has happened and my child's eye is red, irritated, and the corner of her eye is still glued shut! Something so simple turned so complicated! read more
