My PCP is leaving a different MedFirst Primary location, so I attempted to become a patient here. Because there are controlled substances prescribed to me for fibromyalgia, they refuse to take me on. Even though those prescriptions can be moved to my fibromyalgia specialist. Literally said, "Because you are prescribed controlled substances, we cannot take you on as a patient." Of all the health discriminatory practices.. I've never been made to feel more like dirt by a health facility. These doctors should be ashamed of themselves for their health shaming. read more

Scheduled an appointment approximately 2 months in advance as a first time patient. Received a confirmation email. Upon arriving and attempting to check in the front desk associate advises me they do not have me scheduled. She asks if I booked online and I advised I did and received a confirmation email. She then proceeds to tell me their online system doesn't work and that I need to call the office to book. Which A. as a first time patient how would I know their online system doesn't work and B. If this is a continued problem they are aware of, how come they have not corrected it. She then proceeds to tell me they called and left a voicemail cancelling my appointment which they never did leave a VM. I cannot say if they truly called or not but I definitely never received a VM advising me it was cancelled. All and all not a great first impression with scheduling and in addition their front desk staff attempted to make me feel as though it was my fault for not calling in advance/claiming they left a VM. Would highly recommend seeking care elsewhere as they clearly do not sympathize with their clients nor make an effort to correct their errors and try to put blame on the client for their mistakes. read more

I have been going here for 16 years, first with a doctor that went somewhere else and then my nurse practitioner, and they are excellent primary care physicians. I have been very unhappy with the people at the front desk for a long time but I just let it go because I liked my PCP. Lately it has been getting worse with how they treat not only me but I also hear how they treat other people. Depending on the situation they can be very rude and disrespectful to certain people. I have canceled my future appointments with them and I told them that I am going somewhere else they couldn't care less. I am in the process of finding another doctor's office with more respectful employees. It's a shame how this office has gone downhill since I first started going there. read more

Worst customer service from the front desk. I called as a new patient to setup an appointment. The person that answered was very rude and kept cutting me off instead of letting me finish. My appt was at 1020, it's now 1200 & I haven't even been seen yet. But you can hear all the staff laughing & having a grand time in the hallways. The front desk was so rude to patients coming in, I felt bad seeing it happen. This place has gone downhill since the last time I was here in 2018. Will def be finding a new place to go. read more

The MOST unprofessional and unorganized practice I have ever experienced. I scheduled an appointment with the PCP for a referral over a week ago. At the time of the first appointment, the PA never even called me and when I called to find out if she was running late, I was told she had already left for the day. The second (rescheduled) appointment, the PA was an hour late. When we did spoke, I was told she would send a referral to my dermatologist which she never did. The dermatologist office called me a day before my scheduled appt only to find out they never received the referral and needed to cancel my appt. seriously, this is a simple task for this office to complete and failed. I can't imagine if something major came up for them to handle. Scary to even think about it. Your office really needs to get it together. It's not that difficult. read more

Awful service! Dr doesn't listen and rushes you out of the office. Not very knowledgeable. Just prefers to push meds that are not relevant to your sickness. Poor return time for questions. First - my doctor (Dr. Bauer) is awesome!!! No complaints at all about the medical care I receive from Dr. Bauer. I am a Veteran and received care in the community until such time as there is availability at Audie Murphy or a nearby VA clinic. The office staff at this location has zero customer service skills. Medfirst practices in general are poor in this area. My prescriptions are filled by Audie Murphy. The prescriptions have to be faxed (can't be sent electronically). I followed-up with the office staff - via the Patient Portal - to remind them that the prescription needed to be faxed. I received a reply stating that I needed to provide them with the fax number of the Audie Murphy pharmacy. Contact AM and was told they only give medical staff the fax number and not too patients. Sent this message to MedFirst Overlook and provided them with the phone number and extension to the pharmacy; asked them to get the fax number and annotate on my records and share with all the admin staff to help future Veterans. Received a reply from Daniella at MedFirst Overlook telling me that 'unfortunately we cannon fax' and I would have to come to the clinic to get a hard copy of the prescription and then take it to the VA. I tried many times to call the clinic (wanted to speak to Bart - the clinic manager who is always helpful). Each time I called, it rang over to the answering service who told me that MedFirst Overlook changed the process and the answering service can no longer take messages (why the heck do you even have an answering service then?). They told me that I would just have to keep calling the clinic until I reach someone or suggested that I go to the clinic in person. The last time I went to the clinic for assistance, I was told by the receptionist that since I did not have an appointment, I would have to contact Dr. Bauer's medical assistance via the patient portal as 'they don't come out and talk to patients'. It's just crazy. Again, I really like Dr. Bauer but the office staff and Medfirst processes leave a great deal to be desired when it comes to customer service. read more

The office cancelled my appointment with Dr. Ormeno due to allegedly not having my insurance information on file, even though you must provide your insurance information to schedule an appointment. They also stated they were trying to reach me "all day"...I had 1 missed call from them (photos of my call log available upon request). Fine by me, I'll take my money elsewhere - just don't blame the patient when your office overbooked. read more

Made appointment online as they requested, 6 weeks in advance. Received email notice that was no longer available, so rescheduled. Arrived 30 minutes prior to appointment as requested. Completed paperwork and turned in 10 minutes prior to appointment time. Waited until 25 minutes PAST appointment time. Inquired at front desk as to status and was told it would be AT LEAST another hour, and that is typical for provider. Ended up seeing PA who was friendly and thorough, but is leaving practice shortly, so defeated entire purpose of my visit to establish care and rapport with a new PCM. She ordered fasting labs, which I returned to clinic to have drawn the following week. Lab SUPPOSEDLY opens at 8am. I arrived at 8:10 and lab was closed. Inquired at window and was told they were unsure if lab would be open today, and wouldn't know 'until they arrive or don't.' Was told to wait. Given fasting status and how many others were waiting, I chose to leave and try another day. Staff was extremely rude and unprofessional during each interaction. Every trip here has been a great stress and I am not impressed. read more

First, I have to say I adore Dr. Chopra. But, the reception clerks at MedFirst do not answer the phone! It is hard to get in touch with them. The off-chance they answer, you can bet your last dollar that they will immediately put you on hold. The hold time is so long you will hang up without speaking to anyone. This is the cycle every time I call. After my upcoming appointment I will be seeking another doctor. I will not run behind a business to give them money!! I'm done! read more

Took my 95 year old mother for an appointment there. Waited an hour and a half and still hadn't been called back for the appointment. Went to the desk to ask if they were planning on seeing her and they said was told after all that time the doctor was late. Couldn't even tell us how long it would be. After they finished yelling at me to put my mask back on (slid it down so she could understand me) we said we were leaving and would not be back. Please consider all the negative comments before making an appointment at this office. So unprofessional. read more

I wish I could rate it a zero. Their phones do not work, and they do not allow you to cancel appointments through their app, however you also cannot call the office and ask someone to cancel your appointment. The phone either rings incessantly without anyone answering it, or you get a recording that puts you on hold and then eventually send you to the voicemail and then the voicemail tells you that you cannot leave a message because the mailbox is full. I have made probably 20 phone calls over the last 3 months and 100% of the time this is the case. The medical staff who called me with my test results inaccurately reported them to me, then insulted me when I asked for clarification because the lab values she gave me were completely off base from the test that was ordered. This Clinic also knowingly withheld those lab results from me for 3 weeks when I repeatedly asked for them. Then, they only read the results over the phone and would not post them to my online chart so that I could see them for myself, saying they "didn't know how" to do it. Once I threatened to report them to the state because that is a federal violation of my patient rights, all of the sudden my test results showed up in my chart that day. And yes, I was 100% correct about the medical staff misinterpretation of my lab results. There were other serious red flags but there is only so much space to leave a review. This is one of the most abhorrent doctors offices I have ever dealt with. read more

This practice has piss-poor service. My wife was seen by Jessica Barrientos (PA) for a knee injury, she was referred to an imaging center for a MRI, the following week my wife tried numerous times to get ahold of anyone at MedFirst Primary Care to get the MRI results. She left numerous messages for a callback which were never returned. After 3 days of calling my wife received a call from a physical therapy practice trying to schedule an appointment. Apparently Jessica Barrientos / MedFirst's referral management team think it's ok to put in referrals without talking to the patient about their diagnosis and prognosis! On day 4 of calling MedFirst, we were "lucky" enough to get a call back from a nurse who gave no further insight regarding the situation, to add insult to injury, it was obvious the nurse had her mouth full of food during the conversation which made it difficult to understand her. So we are forced to go to physical therapy without understanding the knee pain diagnosis and prognosis. We will never go back to this practice, I've seen fast food joints better managed. read more

These people put grandma on tramadol for years. She's suffering withdrawals for 3 weeks now because her prescription wasn't called in. She's left message after message and gets nothing but the run-around. They managed to call in 5 days' worth because she's been out so long, but they can't get her regular prescription called in?? Nightmare!!!!! Do not schedule appointments with them in person, on the phone nor on their website as they stated to do. They confirmed we had an appointment with them and made sure we were going to the appointment, Without any notification the staff cancelled the appointment just three days prior now saying that he can't see new patients for three more months. I booked this appointment weeks ago, like six. The staff then tried to reschedule with another Dr but found out they scheduled at another location with a PA. Not acceptable. DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL. They are incompetent. There is not excuse for all the trouble in getting an appointment in the first place. I scheduled online to see Dr. Ramerez-Estrada. She had good reviews and the only negative stuff I saw was about the office staff. So I went on the MedFirst website Med1st.com which is the website on the business card I had from when my husband went previously. I booked an appointment with Dr. Ramerez-Estrada and it was 6 weeks away. Ok no big deal. Got an email said the appointment was pending, then the next day got an email saying it was confirmed. I got a text yesterday reminding me of my appointment. I show up today and the receptionist was so rude stating that I didn't have an appointment after I had been standing there waiting for a few minutes and wasn't even acknowledged. She then asked if I booked online. I said I did, and she said that they don't accept online appointments She through zocdoc anymore.. except that is where their website sent me to... so if they don't accept online appointment booking, why even offer it in the first place? She made is seem like it was my fault for not having an appointment booked correctly, and never apologized for the inconvenience. I had to leave work early, drive 35 minutes through traffic and the best she could do was schedule me with the PA next week and a follow up with the doctor for 3 months away... yep. Not good enough. When she asked what I wanted to see the doctor for I told her just a general exam and to talk to the doctor about some concerns I have. Then she asked "like what?" In a very rude manner. I'm sorry, that's between me and my doctor not some office staff. These people aren't worth your time. I'd recommend staying away. read more

I have never had a scheduled appt booked months in advance for a 10:45 appt time and wait 2 hours to see Dr Estrada! She offered no excuse, just a sorry about the weight in a scripted tone. It was a simple medication refill but b/c my blood pressure was so high after all this I got a new pill for that. read more

I have several issues with this provider. First they require that everything goes through their patient portal. Anytime you want to make an appointment, or even talk to your doc it's all through the portal. The times I have communicated with my doc his replies were very short so I ended up sending several messages soliciting more information. Something that could have been done much quicker than over a course of several days if I would have just been able to talk with him over the phone. Second it takes FOREVER to get an appointment with a doctor, not nurse practitioner... even for established clients. I was told the wait for my doctor was 6 weeks which is ridiculous. Third when I went in for an appointment on 9/13 the doctor was running AN HOUR AND A HALF LATE I was told I could reschedule but next appointment wouldn't be until 10/31. The doctor I see (Dr. Bauer) is very thorough but because of these other issues I am switching practices. read more

After reading these reviews I see that there are 2 people that don't understand their own insurance policy and another that doesn't know the difference between primary care and urgent care. This place is full of quality care givers. I have had two appointments for a physical and a few minor illnesses and my flu shot. Dr. Bauer is a wonderful man that loves his patients. He takes the time need to sit and talk with you. Dr. Estrada is also a caring provider, however sometimes this causes an excessive wait time. Have I had problems with scheduling at this office, yes. But after sitting with management, I understand that scheduling is partly done by a call center. Not in this office! I have noticed a major overhaul of employees in recent past, and since that has happened I have to say...they provide premier healthcare and pretty good customer service for its daily throughput of over 100 patients a day... They are short handed in my opinion so 4 bad reviews over a 2 year span isn't that bad... Keep up the good work!! read more
