I was there yesterday and I do not recommend looking at any of the 45's, they are unbelievably overpriced, they should be selling at $1 or LESS, all of them, instead, most are well over $1, most are $3 and up, I couldn't believe it, they are not worth that much money at all, and they have scratches on them as well, not just a few either, do not waste your time!! read more

I tried to buy a Beach Boys record online from these guys for $39.99. It's already an overinflated price for what it is, but I'm a fan so I was willing to pay. A few days later I received an e-mail from PayPal saying that my order was inexplicably cancelled (the store didn't bother to contact me to explain why). Come to find out the record was now relisted on the store's website for $129.95. It's not my fault that you didn't realize the value of the record you were selling when you put the original listing online. You must be really desperate for $100. I won't be (attempting to) buy anything from this place ever again. read more

Over priced they want $150 for a sealed copy of Pokémon y I can buy SEALED for $50 anywhere else everything else is extremely over priced wouldn't suggest doing business with these folks also destroyed two personal games of mine because they don't know how to properly resurface a disc read more

Media Mania has the largest selection of vinyl records (including a large number of 45 rpm singles), comics, movies, cds, and video games in the South Atlanta area. All of the employees are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the products they sell. I appreciate that the records are sorted first by genre and then by artist/group name, which makes looking for something specific very easy. They also have a Discogs online store where they have a list of over 10,000 records from their giant collection for sale. I am a vinyl collector and if they don't have something I'm looking for, they will try their best to find it for me. In response to the review above mine, yes, the store smells a little smoky, but that is due to the "pre-owned" items they sell there. Before the United States saw fit to deem cigarettes as harmful, pretty much everyone smoked everywhere, in their homes, in their cars, and in public (and a lot of people still do). This means that a lot of the older record sleeves will reek of old cigarette smoke, which will permeate throughout the store. You can launder your clothing and wash your hair and that smell will come right out, so don't let that review discourage you from coming here. I don't know too many people who still carry cash around...most use credit/debit cards, which Media Mania gladly accepts. I'm pretty sure they usually accept cash, perhaps the reviewer caught them on a weekend when their usual bank was closed and they ran out of change? If you are a vinyl collector, need a game for an older game console, or are looking for that new issue of your favorite comic, you really should make the drive to Stockbridge to visit this place! read more

Me and my boyfriend recently came to this place for the first time on RSD. My boyfriend was interested in buying original pressings of 2 different albums and inspected both of them at the front counter (as the signs on every corner of the store instructed us to do) for signs of damage or disrepair, as one does when buying a used record. the labels on both of the records listed that they were original pressings so we both figured we could trust the store/the labels they placed on the records and just buy them. The entire time my boyfriend is inspecting the records he is planning to purchase, we are both receiving the dirtiest looks from the dude behind the counter who we both assume is the owner. For anyone who hasn't been to the store, imagine a dude who looks like he would ask a female customer if she REALLY listens to the classic rock band she's purchasing a record by. I didn't buy anything, but I'm 100% sure if I did, I would've been quizzed on whatever I ended up buying because of just how annoyed this dude seemed by our existence. He purchased the records and we left, just to find out that one of the records he purchased was not only not an original pressing, but was labeled 8 years off of what it was supposed to be after he paid over $50 for this record. He reached out to the store via email, asking if he could exchange it for another record or receive a refund considering that the one he purchased was labeled incorrectly. He received a reply basically saying that he should've caught that it was labeled incorrectly when he inspected it, even though it is literally the job of the store to label their products correctly. The record is practically untouched as well, he hasn't even played it yet and was basically denied on the premise that he could've swapped them out and then returned a fake, which honestly sounds like an excuse to not own up to their own mistakes. We don't plan to return to this store, and I'll be telling everyone I know who is interested in records that there are plenty of actually honest and trustworthy record stores with decent prices in the area. read more

I am a one-time customer of Media Mania with a less than desirable experience. I purchased a PS4 Pro during Christmas 2021 for my nine-year-old son. I looked online but I was not an online shopper because of uncertainties with the product and the mail. I was happy to locate the product locally but paid a higher price than the game stores or the online offers. The closer to Christmas, the harder it became to locate a used game. So for my son's sake, I paid this higher price. It was in what appeared to be the original box with a price. Near Christmas, I decided to open to make sure the game system was ready. Once I opened the box, the console was marked with a price of 100.00 less than the outer box. I went to the store and also talked to the owner/ manager by phone but he was not willing to discuss the pricing difference. read more

My girlfriend and I shopped at this establishment for the first time during RSD. I purchased a copy of Led Zeppelin II which was labeled on the sleeve as a 1969 pressing. I asked, who I assumed was the owner, if the year on the label is the year that it was pressed. I was told, yes. I made a selection of albums and took them up to the front counter to inspect. I looked at the condition of the records along with matrix numbers. I ended up purchasing both Led Zeppelin II and Rumors. The next day when I went to input my purchases into Discogs, I discovered that the Led Zeppelin II album was not a 1969 pressing as advertised, but a 1977 repress. I contacted the store to tell them that they had mislabeled their product and asked if I could get either a refund or an exchange. I was denied both. I was told in the email that it was my job to inspect the records before I purchase them to make sure that I am happy with the albums that I am purchasing even though it is the job of the store to label their product correctly. For a record store that holds themselves to a higher standard I would expect that they would be able to label their product correctly and be willing to work with customers when the store makes a mistake on their end. On top of all of this, both my girlfriend and I were treated incredibly rudely by the owner who acted as if we were inconveniencing him while I inspected the records, even though there are signs posted every few feet that stated that all records must be taken to the front of the store to be inspected. He also gave both of us nasty looks the entire time we were inside of the store. He not only did this to just us, but to other customers that walked in as well. The other employee, however, was incredibly kind and was very welcoming to us. This has been the worst record store interaction and experience I have ever had and needless to say neither my girlfriend or I will ever be returning again. read more
