Came here for one night with a girl friends and loved the resort so much. It was a little…read moreconcerning driving up because you pass a few questionable areas but it was lovely once inside. The Teepees were over the hot pools and it was a nice feel. Very tastefully done. The front desk team was amazing and very friendly. The grounds were very well taken care of and quite lush. I was happy there were so many local walking paths as well. I enjoyed how many rooms and seating areas they had for you to enjoy coffee or just relax and read a book. The food for dinner room service was fairly lackluster, however the breakfast buffet was nice and filled us up. The main reason for taken off a star was because of the horrible bus. I left with almost 15-20 bug bites after just one day there. Definitely need to put in some bug safeguards like lavender or citronella plants. The bites lasted for weeks and tainted the experience. Overall 4/5 stars.

I was raised in Saratoga so I kind of go off of the older name of The Saratoga Inn. Since I have…read morefamily nearby there isn't much need to get a room here or any other lodging business in town. But I do enjoy coming here for lunch. I usually go to the bar section of the place in which they have their own craft beer. The lunches are good and have hearty portions. And often my visits can have an exhaustive nature to them so escaping to this bar which is fairly quiet during the day for a pint is very nice. Getting a craft beer pint reminds me of where I live now where defaulted beer that everyone associates with beer drinking isn't the norm. It's been a while since I have had an evening meal here but I recently have had their breakfast buffet which is very nice. The food is nice and fresh and flavorful! Last year my father passed away and we did a private catering event in the dining room which was very nice. They got us in on very short notice and the event went quite smoothly. The organizer was extremely helpful and organized and laid out all the options for the event we were needing to do after the funeral. So that went quite smoothly. I am not sure when my next visit back will be but if it's a trip of a recreational and casual nature I will definitely stop by the bar for a pint of beer!

I would very much recommend the Hood House as a great option when visiting anywhere in the Platt Valley. But wait, when I arrived for my two day stay I found beautiful, nicely waxed wood floors. My dog Rigal will not walk on a slippery floor, not for anything. So it's a little late and no one is around so I figure I will just carry him up the steep, narrow stairs, he thinks otherwise. Three steps up and he wiggles out and I take a few very fast steps back to the landing. Second attempt was a scary ride for both of us but successful. We were in the Saratoga area to photograph fall color so we get up before the sun, and the fire escape looks much less scary in the dark. Rigal was not thrilled but more cooperative then last night. What he, nor I saw was the fact the last five or six feet of steps are not there, it is a fire escape. I just didn't see that one coming. Luckily Rigel took a leap of faith into my arms and we were off to shoot that color. I forgot to mention, Rigel is the most beautiful 105 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback you will ever see! Thank you Carol for understanding and refunding me the second night.

One step above a Motel 8 (no disrespect to Motel 8), however this place is a joke when they charge…read more$338 per night for a "suite" which is literally to closet rooms with a hole between them. The only thing short on this hotel is bed bugs, we did not find any bed bugs but were very very disappointed in our three night get-a-way!! Also this place charged my credit card for one night when I made reservations (which is fine), however received a call from the night before our reservation confirming our arrival and when we showed up there were two credit charge slips for the $1000 for three nights already ran the day before we arrived. I was like what.... Crazy, they should be reported for this practice! Here is a small list of some of the highlights of nasty: 1) there is no room for any toiletries 2) the toilet sub floor is destroyed and the toilet rocks and is hanging on by a small bolt. 3) the ceiling fan vent is as disgusting and full of grossness 4) a mixture of mold/grout and just pure nastyness in the shower and ceiling. (However the shower insert is newer but you know there has to be mold and such growing behind it 5) broken window in bathroom so they cut a piece of plexy glass to cover it up, however it squeals with air pressure window or change. 6) carpet is nasty and literally pieced and cut out with very visible pieces...... 7) give the Saratoga Inn marketing department koodoes as there explanation for literally "ear plugs" is very creative and softens the blow that you will need ear plugs for sleeping.... 8) the 37" TV is literally setup in the other room and it's so small you can't even see it that great from bed. Absolutely no TV guide reading.... Take a peek at my pics, they tell the true story!! I have stayed in some nice places and I don't mind paying for nice accommodations, but this is "rape" and they should really look deep at this property being kept together with duct tape and lipstick!! This property is "LIPSTICK on a PIG"!!!!
