Saratoga is the only place that still brings in visitors and makes money in the county so of course the drug dealers will come here. To imagine a typical week as a Saratoga police officer must be a very sad story. Just by reading the police report indicates how boring and sad their lives must truly be. A lost item turned in from the town's Hobo Pool hot springs, noise complaints about a barking dog, etc. The police here relish when a weekend event happens in the valley because they love to give DUI's out like candy...especially if it is someone from out of state AND especially if they are from Colorado! That leads me to my latest misadventure with the police. I was leaving my high school class reunion and getting ready to go see my brother who was at a festival in a neighboring town. Now being in the sticks you can get pulled over for not dimming your lights to oncoming traffic. Now in hicksville that just isn't polite damn it! I did dim my lights and one of my dimmer bulbs was burnt out so I got pulled over. I went through the usual junk of license, registration, proof of insurance, yadda yadda. They asked if I was drinking which I said yes. Stunned by the answer he proceeded to make me do sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer which I passed with flying colors so they had to let me go. I met up with my bro, watched the tail end of the festival and took dirt roads all the way home to avoid anymore cops because they were just leering around that festival just waiting to bust a bunch of people. You know I would have been in deep doo doo if Saratoga, like Colorado excelled in carrying many microbrews on tap. Maybe Saratoga should get on the bandwagon and open a really good tap house so the Colorado tourists can get loaded and then the police would really look good with all of the DUI paperwork rolling in. But in reality they don't and that is what saved my ass. The bars in town just have cheap, corporate beer which sucks and that is why I only had one drink and one shot through the whole night. Didn't get me suckers! What is really sad is that the locals get drunk off of this junk beer and get busted for being intoxicated. Now that is a crying shame getting loaded off of bad beer, if your going to get a DUI one would hope you had some really good craft beer running through your system.

But of course I don't run around with a burn light. I did run around with leds mabey next time you'll know where they are and go the opposite way like everyone else ..
