Jerry was very prompt in responding to my request to get an estimate for an interior paint job for the entire house. He arrived at the scheduled time and was extremely professional throughout our interaction. He went around the house to get measurements and asked questions when he needed clarification. Absolutely love Medina Paint and Design! My wife and I got in WAY over our heads with our DIY home renovation. We had removed all the popcorn ceiling from our home but soon realized compounding the ceiling, smoothing it out, and priming and painting the entire house, from the ceiling, to the walls, to the baseboards was too much work for just the two of us. We called Jerry and he had a fast response. He came over to look at the house on Friday to give us a quote and was very courteous and professional. We were on a very tight schedule (we needed to have everything done by next Friday) and he was the only painter who promised us he could have it done in time, and he delivered, and for a very good price (half the price of any of the other painters). Jerry and his men were able complete the rest of our home renovation for us and did a phenomenal job! They even stayed late Wednesday and Thursday night to get the job done in time. Now, the ceiling is no longer an ugly beige popcorn ceiling but a smooth, flat, white. The walls look amazing and the doors and baseboards look brand new with their new coat of paint. Jerry Medina was flexible with time when we asked if he could paint on a Saturday instead of a weekday because with the kids doing online learning during the week we figure the weekend would be a better time. He was on time and what would have taken me almost a full day to just prep to paint took him a couple of minutes and was able to paint the kitchen stairway and hallway within a day. Textured cracked ceiling repair, painted downstairs and upstairs ceiling which really brightens up the space, he also installed new lights in my kitchen and several lights and ceiling fixtures throughout my house. I can't recommend Medina Paint Design highly enough! We had our house replumbed, and the plumbers had to make several holes in our walls, including a hole in the tile in one shower. We called Gerardo when the first guy we made an appointment with never showed up and never called back. Gerardo arrived on time, looked everything over, took photos, and then provided his quote. His prices were extremely fair, so we scheduled him to do the work. Every day he was here, he arrived on time, was very professional, and was very communicative throughout the project. He's also friendly and it was a pleasure to have him in our home. In addition, the two team members he brought in to help him with the tile and painting were also very professional. The gentleman who did the tile, Jose, went above and beyond. Our shower looks better than it did before! And Gerardo isn't just skilled in his trade--he's an artist. Our walls have a custom finish that we thought would be difficult to duplicate. Well, he did it, and you can't even tell there were ever holes in our walls. I am so very very pleased with the work Jerry did at my mom's place. He was very helpful and prompt from the get-go. I live in California and my mom lives in San Antonio. I wanted to have some dry wall repairs done in her house for her but was really worried about being able to coordinate everything from so far away. My husband and I recently purchased our home and hired Medina Paint Design to paint the living room, dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom. The price offered was a pretty good deal, made better by the discount we got for our house being vacant. We also used the Yelp deal available which gave us another $100 off. The price was the good part. The things we weren't happy with were definitely enough to justify a 2.5 or 3 star rating though. The biggest thing was all the touch up work I had to do. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations, but I really didn't anticipate needing to get out my own roller and brush after a professional paint job. We purchased high quality paint from Sherwin Williams that covered the old colors perfectly in the rooms I personally painted, but after Medina was finished here were many places in our house that looked like they were only covered in one coat and had pale yellow (the old color) showing through. This was especially noticeable around our windows. I'm a pretty easy going person, but it was definitely frustrating to pay over a thousand dollars to have our home painted and then have to touch up the work myself. The other issues were that several of the clips that hold the front of our blinds were broken when removed/replaced for painting. Now I need to replace the clips and figure out why we're missing pieces to the blinds. There was also deep blue paint that was spilled near the baseboard on our brand new bedroom carpet. Definitely not happy about that. I wasn't home during the painting, so I'm unsure if drop clothes were used or not. Nothing was said to us about the spilled paint or the broken blinds, so be sure to check your home throughly for any problems if you hire Gerardo. Overall, the job done wasn't bad. If not for the paint on the carpet, I likely wouldn't be leaving this review. The lines were clean along the ceiling and baseboards and the paint in our master bedroom needed zero touch up. The price was fair too as I mentioned before. read more

Gerardo did a good job then he just stopped showing up and stopped answering his phone! The kitchen islands that he refinished started chipping off and scratching off. When I asked him for help to touch them up or show me how to touch them up, he never showed and when I called him he would not answer.
