This is my husband favorite place to get his gyros and they definitely have the best gyros I've tasted in Baltimore. The completely overstuff the gyros. My eldest son could barely finish his. Omg I love this food truck with my whole heart. Chicken over rice is my go-to meal always, and they did not let me down. They heap on the chicken (it's 2 meals for me), the chicken is flavorful, it's freaking cheap for the amount they give you, and it's soooo good. I ask for extra white sauce and red sauce (spicy!) and it's amazing. I'm brown and Muslim, so my halal food opinion matters, too (lol). Definitely would recommend. I've gotten the combination over rice with white sauce 4 times in 4 days and I'm still not tired of it (red sauce was tasty but way too spicy for me). I feel like I could eat the tender lamb and flavorful chicken everyday, and the white sauce makes it over the top good. The rice is cooked very well and the lettuce/tomatoes are fresh. Regarding the meat, they don't skimp at all and that is why they'll get my business if they come into my field of vision. Please note that it is pretty carb heavy meal. Delicious chicken and lamb lunch options for $8-9 with a can of soda within walking distance of the Convention Center. Nice guy staffing the cart. My first foray was a combo over salad with a little spice (he asked), and it was a generous lunch. If I had access to a fridge, I'd split it for dinner. $8 lamb in pita was slightly smaller and so tasty a couple days later. It's a cart in a business area, so expect to take your lunch elsewhere (down to the water, back to the HVAC) , but a great Baltimore experience with no scary people read more

Actually if you do that, the Baltimore PD will probably shoot you, but you know what I mean. NYC is famous for Halal Carts, and now they're popping up in other cities around the country. Philly and DC, to name just a couple. Some of the newbies are pretty awful, but this one is excellent. It would go cart-to-cart (I was going to say toe but Carts don't have toes) with most of the better NYC ones. It's significantly better than the ones I've tried in Philly, and as for the famous "Halal Guys", don't get me started. This is much more enjoyable, and closer to the level of Sammy's Halal or King Of Falafel & Shawarma or Zaiqa (all 3 are in Queens). Or Rafiqi's or Tony Dragonas of Manhattan. Not to mention the guy serving was doing so without any power, and still managed to concoct me a delicious combo. I enjoyed every bite, more than most meals I've had in Baltimore. Spicy sauce is a little more spicy than expected (we're not in the Midwest no more!) but I love heat so it was perfect. No chicken and rice cart can be mentioned without comparison to the 53rd and lex halal cart in NYC, and this one is no exception. From a food standpoint, this cart holds its own. The meat, rice and salad are great. Hot sauce and white sauce just as good as any. (The NYC halal has an awesome BBQ sauce which this one doesn't tho). BUT, in my opinions, what makes the NYC halal cart so good, is going there late at night at 3-4am after a night of partying, chilling with friends, and whatever other shinanagans you might dream up of in NYC, and then treking to 53rd to see lines of other late night New Yorkers come to the same chicken and rice craving that you and your buddies have..... Was visiting Baltimore for the weekend from Seattle and found this place on Yelp. Reviews were good and was within walking distance of my hotel so I decided to check it out. First seeing the cart, I questioned whether this was the right place, being a tiny food cart on a random corner in Baltimore. Upon getting my food, chicken and lamb, over rice I realized that this was a FIND. $7 for a bowl and drink? You won't find that in Seattle! Took it back to my hotel and upon first bite, I realized that this was some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. The truck is located next to the royal farms arena downtown. And you get a box full of deliciousness with a soda for $7! So the only con is the location of the food truck but I really would love to see them branch out and open up restaurants like the halal guys. And they are better than the halal guys in my opinion. Good food, great service, great price. however.... Heard about this place after a recent trip to NYC, many reviews gave it favorable comparisons to 53rd and 6th. This afternoon, I was craving some halal cart so instead of traveling the 4 hrs from MD to NY, I opted for the 30 minute drive from Gaithersburg to Baltimore. Let me reiterate, the Baltimore cart serves good food, but it is no way comparable to the NYC cart. I got the combo with rice. The chicken was nice, but the lamb was nothing special. One of the biggest difference between NY and Baltimore carts is the lamb. NY has chopped lamb, but Baltimore has chopped gyro meat. The rice was nothing special, the NY cart has flavorful buttery rice, but the Baltimore cart tasted like colored plain basmati rice. Both have same white sauces, but vastly different red sauces. If you've ever been the the NY cart, you understand how extremely hot the red sauce is, flavorful but very hot. I got a good amount of red sauce at the Baltimore cart but it was not that spicy. All in all, this is a good cart to try if you are in the area, but don't expect it to be anywhere near to what the Halal Guys make. On that note, time to buy another Bolt Bus ticket. read more

In NYC these are on nearly every corner, so what luck I should have with one right outside my hotel. I spoke with the owner, he is from NY and has one more cart in Baltimore. This is the first Halal cart I have seen outside NY metro area. Very friendly people too. Hot sauce is nice and hot, and they have spiced rice which is a bonus. $6 for chicken/lamb over rice (with soda). So not only is this something special to the Baltimore area, it is actually a good representation of a NYC Halal cart. Now you will see why only tourists in NYC eat hot dogs.
