What a little gem this spot is. Amazing delicious tender meats and beautiful presentation. My husband and I shared the beef shawarma sandwich and chicken shawarma plate w sides of baba ganoush, garlic and hummus which were all outstanding. The interior is decorated nicely, establishment is clean. Restroom was clean also but no toilet seat covers nor paper towels- no biggie at least it was clean. First visit with coworkers for lunch. Friendly staff, somewhat quick service (but worth a little wait), delicious food, and clean dining area. The cashier was quite helpful to our group of first timers, explaining the various dishes and offering suggestions. Order at the counter, but the food is brought out to your table. They even clean up your table when you're done. The food was downright amazing. We tried the Lentil Soup served with chips, an order of the Falafel (4 piece), Greek & Chicken Salad, Beef Shawarma Sandwich combo, and the Kofta Kabob Sandwich combo. Craving something healthy and decided to try this spot which is just around the neighborhood. Besides someone at the counter to take your order, they offer a kiosk for self order. You can sit anywhere, I personally love the leather brown chairs because they're so comfy! Public restroom also available to customers. Their menu is straightforward which also offers a kid's menu. Here is what was ordered: 1. Mix Grill Kabob Plate: served with salad, rice and hummus. It comes with their well cooked chicken, you can appreciate the charred flavor and their juicy beef, easy to chew and evenly flavored. Overall a 10/10! 2. Ordered to go from here twice and both times were a let down! The chicken shawarma was overcooked both times and not as flavorful as when I ate it at the restaurant. The salad was also old, the color was not as green so I didn't eat it. Got the hummus this time and it was bland. The falafel was ok tasting but a bit hard. Cute "Kebob" sign and decor - very welcoming! I just had to try a new (ish) Mediterranean location! Even when I was ordering with the screen, the staff still told me to let them know if I had any questions, which was very nice of them. The falafel plate I ordered was amazing!! It came with pita bread, rice, hummus, and salad with a garlicky lemon dressing. It's very filling for one person, but I still couldn't help but finish the whole thing because it was such a comforting meal after a long week. The falafel was crispy on the outside and softer in the inside (and dare I say, probably the best falafel I've had in a while!). The salad was very refreshing and goes well with the rice and falafel. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich which was described a "grilled chicken, nestled in fresh bread with crisp lettuce, tomatoes and tangy sauce " The chicken was delicious,perfectly seasoned and juicy. I went to this Mediterranean spot with a friend yesterday, and I was absolutely amazed! It's so close to my house, which makes it even better. I tried the baba ghanoush for the first time, and it quickly became my favorite part the flavor was incredible. I've had Mediterranean food before, so I had a rough idea of what I wanted, but with so many choices, I ended up trying the shrimp for the first time and got my usual chicken. While the service is great here, the food to price proportion was very disappointing as well as the flavors. I ordered the mixed kebab plate ~$25 for 8 pieces of meat, which does not feel worth at all . Normally kebabs are large enough to fill the whole container horizontally but that was not the case here. So happy to have this option for Mediterranean food in Walnut! I called in my order and it was ready in 15 minutes. Ordered: falafel, baba ghanoush, and the chicken schwarma plate (comes with salad, hummus, garlic sauce, saffron rice) and the total came out to ~$30. The saffron rice was SO fragrant, and everything else was also delicious--not a single miss. The space inside is modern and well decorated. Decent parking in the lot. Yelp brought us here, with their rave reviews. It's located in a strip mall with ample parking. We arrived in a Saturday afternoon and parked in front. Inside, the decor is clean, with modern wall panels and high ceilings. The ornate light fixtures remind me of a Moroccan restaurant I went to many years ago. To order, there's a huge menu board above the counter. There's also a kiosk off to the left. The menu is pretty extensive for a small place. For a first timer, we always like to sample, so we got the combo,'which is a 3 meat plate with rice, salad, pitas and hummus. The plate is a bit much for one person but not quite enough for 2, so we also tried a beef shawarma sandwich. The rice on the combo plate was fluffy and fragrant. The meats were great with a slight charred flavor, but the steak (filet?) was ironically a little tough and dry. The sandwich had fresh onions and tomatoes with tender beef. This can be ordered as a combo with fries and a drink, or a la carte. I hoped for the garlic paste to be more potent, but understand many people cannot handle it. The pitas were fresh and soft, great for wrapping the kebab proteins. Our interaction with I believe was the owner, was great. He was personable and it showed he really cared about the customer service and the overall location. The food was a 4.5, with slight room for improvement. The vibe, decor, ethnic music playing and speaking to the owner made this a 5 star. read more

Appreciate that there's a Mediterranean option in the area. Something new and different from the other food options in the area. They did a very good job of remodeling the interior. It looks totally different from the previous business - didn't even recognize it. Interior is fresh and inviting. We got a few items to go. Staff is very attentive asking me if I had any questions, while I was staring at the menu trying to decide what I want. I ended up with beef shawarma sandwich. It's really a wrap though. My friend got the beef shawarma plate honestly it looks better. The price point is decent for the quantity, tasted really good. Next time I'll try to fries and get a plate instead. The plaza across the street from Mt. Sac just recently had a few new restaurants open and my son and decided to walk around and explore. We happened to walk by Kabob Station right as they were preparing a catering order for 70 and were attacked, assaulted, and downright bullied by the fragrant smells of grilling meat. Have you ever walked by a bakery that happens to both be baking and blasting out the smells onto the sidewalk? How the suction created by these aromas exert an almost physical pull that causes you to swerve while walking? Same basic effect. We ended up ordering a combo plate and some babaganoush to try and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Here are few notes. Saffron Rice - Strangely enough, the saffron rice was the star of the show. Very well seasoned, flavorful without being overpowering, opened with saffron with an aftertaste of what we thought were cloves. Really good rice. The whole family approved. Kabobs - The kids really appreciated the beef schwarma and the beef skewer and I thought the chicken skewers were well done also. You could taste the flame, seasoning was balanced and well done, and the meat was tender. The smell didn't lie. Garlic Spread / Hummus - I enjoyed both of these quite a bit. Definitely better than the average spread, good stuff, though I've had better in different places. My wife swears by Zankou Chicken's garlic sauce and for her it's not quite there. I still appreciate it. The hummus was quality restaurant hummus. Babaganoush - I'm on the fence with the babaganoush. The best I've ever had was in a little mom and pop shop in downtown LA in a little alley behind a parking lot and I think that one spoiled me for all babaganoush. Kabob Station's version tastes similar to their hummus with a similar consistency, which isn't bad, but I really wanted a stronger eggplant flavor and some chunks. Might be a preference thing, your mileage may vary. Overall, I think this place is worth a try. Everything here was well seasoned and well cooked and the people are very nice. This isn't cheap, but the quality was good when we visited and I think they're close to market rate with prices the way they are nowadays. MUST TRY! So happy to have amazing Mediterranean food near me. Overall service and ambience were a 10 out of 10, and I'm excited to share the details because I cannot wait to go back and try more. I remember when this spot was still under construction, so it genuinely surprised me when I swung by Wingstop and saw the doors open and the place buzzing. They're open until 8 pm for now. I wish the hours went a little later, and I'm hoping as business picks up they extend them. Even on a Thursday the dining room had great energy, which already says a lot for a new place. The room is thoughtfully done. Comfortable chairs, clean tables, and a look that reads restaurant first and fast casual second. Ordering off the kiosk was quick and modern. The receipt actually prints a table number, but there aren't number stands to place on the table after you order, so runners have to ask guests which meal is theirs. Out of curiosity I timed the wait. We sat for about fifteen minutes before checking in, gave my phone number, and two minutes later our food arrived. Under twenty minutes total on a busy night is perfectly reasonable for fresh cooking. I did see our sampler briefly presented toward another table before being redirected, which is an easy fix once they add table markers. We split the sampler because I wanted a little of everything. The freshness jumps out immediately. Tender, well-seasoned meats, fluffy rice, crisp salad, warm pita, and bright herbs with sauces that tasted made that day. My partner is Persian and this is his realm of food, so his take matters. He gave it a nine out of ten, with the only knock being price, which feels understandable in this economy and fair for the quality. We live five minutes away and I can already see this becoming a regular stop. There were no leftovers and that should tell you everything. Service deserves its own paragraph. Amir, who I congratulated at the end of the night, worked the room like a true host. He checked on older guests, made anyone who looked unsure feel comfortable, and smoothed over the small opening-week kinks with warmth. That gracious hospitality is exactly what I love about the best Middle Eastern restaurants, and it set the tone here in the best way. Congratulations to the team. You are doing a great job. A few suggestions to help a good place become a neighborhood staple. Add small table number stands so the kiosk number can live on the table and runners can deliver without asking. A self-serve water station would be a strong addition for guests who skip soda. If the future brings extended evening hours and maybe a small beer or wine list, I can see this turning into a favorite for nearby college students and locals. Parking is in a high-traffic area, so you might walk an extra minute at peak times, but it's absolutely worth it. Bottom line, Walnut just gained a winner. Fresh food, thoughtful design, warm hospitality, and the kind of potential that makes you excited to come back. I'll be back in a few months to try more, and if the consistency holds, my five stars stay put. Edit: Another feedback is the combination of a ceramic plate and eating it with a plastic fork for dine in. If that could be changed, it would really change the experience in my opinion. Kabob Station has been in the works for a while now, taking over the previous Queen's Kitchen location - next to Wingstop and across from the Habit. I've been waiting for them to open their doors and they finally opened last Friday. The owners are very nice and welcoming. I went to pick up some items for dinner tonight. I walked in to find the cutest interior with cute lamps overhead. You can order at the kiosk or from the employee. They also sell baklava that they make in house. Yum. I decided on the: Chicken Kabob Plate Shawarma sandwich Mix Shawarma Plate Mix Grill Kabob Plate 4 piece Falafel The plates come with salad (with a spicy dressing!), hummus and pita with garlic sauce and tahini. I really enjoyed the chicken kabobs, they were juicy and tender. The family said the beef was pretty good. Unfortunately the chicken shawarma meat was dry and kind of flavorless, and the side salads were obviously old, as the lettuce had the tell tale signs of red/browning at the edges. Falafel was good and came with a side of pickled veggies and tahini. I kind of wish they offered more sides options for the plates like the other local Mediterranean chain in the area. While their prices seem to be a bit higher than other similar restaurants, they do offer a couple lunch special options: bowl or chicken shawarma wrap. I'll definitely be back... maybe even tomorrow with my coworkers! :-) Every part of the lunch bowl was delicious, especially the chicken which was juicy. Salad was fresh and balanced. Note: There is no protein choice for the lunch bowl, it'll be chicken! Plus, the restaurant is beautifully decorated (comfy chairs!). The music is catchy and not too loud, which I appreciate a lot. Oh my goodness, I have found my new favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly-- the chicken was SUPER juicy and flavorful. The salad was also SO delicious and fresh! (I normally don't like side salads) Every bite of my meal was so freaking good. Pretty good food they ran out of chicken Shawarma around 6 PM when I got there and they also didn't take any phone orders once they got really busy. They need to hire someone so someone can run the phones and the register. They have one guy working cooking register phone all during when it's busy. The food was good. My favorite part is the pita bread, but this pita bread is thin and not thick not a lot of flavor in the pita bread. Also drinks they come in a can so no refills. This is one of my go-to spots for a post workout meal. The food is excellent! I usually get the "combo kabob plate." It's 3 different, appropriately sized kabobs (chicken, beef, kafta). I prefer some variety in my plate so this one hits the spot. All three kabobs have their own distinct, great flavor. Furthermore, the way they cook their chicken is pretty much the bar. It maintains the taste of the marinade and seasoning, but the chicken remains juicy and even has some char to it! They also offer a salmon plate as well in case you're skipping the other three types of meat. Also, what's very underrated about this place is the portions they serve. It's just enough without overdoing the rice. I come out of my meal feeling full, but not bloated and not lazy. Even if you tend to like having more rice (because let's be real who doesn't want a little more rice), I think you'll find their portions more than satisfying. I typically don't leave reviews all that often, but I've been coming here since they opened (less than a year ago), and the owner was nice enough to recognize a familiar face and ask for a good public word. Given that him and his crew have always been nice and accommodating to me, how could I not spread the word about this gem in my backyard? I don't have a photo because I've scarfed down this food while writing, but soon enough I'll come back to this page with one. For what it's worth, it feels like they do put more thought into presentation and I think it shows. The ambience is pretty dope to be honest. There's neon lighting that jumps out at you as you pass by the store, but their chairs are actually elite tier in terms of comfort and aesthetic. If you decide to eat inside, you'll be comfortable all the while. The only "critique" I have my spot is that they're only open til 8pm and closed on Sundays! Sigh, we can't have it all, right?
