My home computer had a fault last week when I was unable to turn it on or off - this fault had only been repaired at PC World 3 months beforehand . Unfortunately, this Colliers Wood branch was still shut after having been hit in the London riots
So, I went to PC World in New Malden only to find that they didn't repair computers on-site and sent them away up north for 28 days. I dropped into Currys next door, who were brilliant - the tech guy said they also sent their computers away but he recommended Megabytes in Worcester Park for a speedier service.
Megabyte's website said that the shop was in the midst of changing premises but they were offering a free collection and drop off service! I spoke on the phone to Brad and arranged to meet
He had a look at my PC and said that it wouldn't be a problem. 2 days later, he rung me to recommend getting a new case as the on/off switch problem wouid recur due to a design flaw (don't buy an Advent Centurion CPD 1301, folks!).
2 days later, he rung again to confirm that he had sourced a suitable new case and that he had found a load of rubbish on the computer, which was slowing it down and would I mind if he serviced my computer? Bonus! The great thing was that he sounded so excited to be getting my PC to run better.
We met up again 6 days after i dropped the computer off to him to collect it. While my spec will never make it a ninja computer, Brad has turned it at least into a black belt computer - boot time slashed, Norton now working fully again, other programs running faster. My sister is so impressed that she's going to send her laptop for a service!
They will be in new premises soon and I'll update the business details when they've moved in but you can get their contact number in the meantime from the website read more
