I have been using the South Haven Meijer pharmacy for several years for my prescriptions and my wifes presciptions. We have had only 1 bad experience when the doctor sent an incorrect prescription to Meijer. When we went to pick it up, we questioned the pharmacist, he reviewed the information, discovered it was sent wrong, contacted the doctor and got it corrected. AVOID using South Haven Meijer's Pharmacy. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience to help others avoid the frustration I went through with the South Haven Meijer Pharmacy. I went to have a prescription filled, only to be told they didn't have the medication in stock. They claimed it was on backorder and could take months to arrive. This was surprising since it's a common medication, and I've never encountered such an issue before. The woman at the window suggested I call every few days to check on their stock instead of calling daily. Two days later, I called back and learned they had received a new shipment--but by that time, my prescription had expired. When I originally visited, my script was still valid, but they couldn't fill it due to lack of supply. Now that the medication was available, they refused to fill it because the prescription had expired just one day earlier. What made the situation worse was how I was treated. The staff were incredibly unprofessional. The woman at the counter condescendingly told me it was "the law" and even offered to explain it to me, speaking over me in a rude manner. Meanwhile, her coworker in the background made additional disrespectful comments. She had the nerve to blame me for letting the prescription expire, even though the issue stemmed from their lack of inventory. This entire experience was frustrating and unnecessarily unpleasant. So I go there on Tuesday and they tell me insurance we'll pay for it on Friday and the charge is zero So I say OK cool I'll come back Friday Well I made it there on Saturday And they charged me like 60 bucks for my prescription at the drive through and argued with me So I went Inside and found the lady in the pharmacy That told me it was going to cost zero dollars And she admitted that she told me that but they still stuck with charging me 60 bucks and another six bucks in gas Did I pay to pick up the prescription Yeah I really don't like being lied to And of course she blamed it on the computer but most of the time they say that they don't receive the prescription from my doctor when they send it of which my doctor says they send it so I have my doctor now talk personally to them with all my prescriptions but I'm done when they lie to you about it not costing anything with insurance and then they charge you 60 bucks when you get there hey enough is enough. When you tell me it's $0 when you come back Friday or after and then you charge me 60 bucks I really don't like being lied to I'm done. So if you have a chance to go somewhere else that might be your best bet. read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could! Takes forever to get an RX filled. They won't fill some RX's on time and even if you call for a time it will be ready....it isn't! Somehow my RX got sent to Meijer by mistake but after 3 months....I'm getting it sent back to Walmart! read more

Worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. Absolute worst ever. My husband has had major back surgery and had hurt his back outside a couple of weeks ago. I had to help him get up and walk him into the house. We went to Urgent Care at Zeeland Hospital, he was seen by a doctor, and the doctor called in two prescriptions to Meijer Pharmacy in South Haven. My husband got a text saying they were ready, and there was a "problem" with one - we're used to this from this pharmacy. Problem after problem time after time... He said he'd call and work it out with them while I drove there to pick up the Rx's. I pulled up to the window and an employee said they only had one ready, there was a problem with the other. My husband called me on my way down and said he talked to Meijer pharmacy, then called the Urgent Care and spoke with the nurse we talked with there. I said, "No, you have two, I guess there was just some confusion with one, but my husband talked to the nurse at the hospital and she told him she was calling your pharmacist to straighten out what his issue was with filling it." The pharmacist came to the window. Somebody had some serious power issues and thought they were going to get smart-a----y with me. My husband called my cell, which was on speaker through the car. He didn't know I was talking to the pharmacist and had just spoken with the nurse at the hospital. She told my husband this pharmacist had the arrogance to say to her, "I want to know where that doctor got his medical degree!" -- Case in point: he has one. He's a physician. He selects medications for patients he sees. Pill-packer boy isn't and doesn't. My husband, who had been in horrible pain for several hours by now and had this self-important pharm-boy refusing to fill his prescription said to me, "What an a-----!" By this point, Pharm-boy had been ranting at me in quite a mini tantrum, insisting, "I'M a doctor TOO! I'M a doctor TOO!" I said yeah, a doctor of pharmacology, not an MD. He continued his foot stomping tirade, saying it's HIS job to decide if he's going to fill a prescription a physician sends out! After this is when my husband, home on the couch on a heating pad, said the guy was being an a------. I said, "Yeah, he's an a---------." I couldn't see the pharmacist through the window, because the window was darkened halfway up and was difficult to look through. Then the pharmacist said, "You have to talk respectfully to me or I'm not going to give you your prescription." It was like being on a playground with a six year old. I hadn't been talking to him disrespectfully, what he heard that he didn't like was something my husband said to me while I was in my car, and what I responded to my husband, not even knowing if he was still standing there. THEN he actually held up my husband's prescription and said, "I have your prescription right here! If you want it you have to talk to me respectfully! Or else you can cancel the prescription! There's a Walgreens right across the street!" This was a first. I'm almost 60 years old and in all my years of picking up prescriptions I had never had to deal with someone who was being so arrogant and self important. I called Meijer before I left the parking lot. The Customer Service rep was aghast at how the pharmacist acted, and said that this was a huge problem and she transferred me to someone for the Regional Manager for Meijer Pharmacies. While I was calling, my husband was at home - STILL waiting for the medicine he needed for the pain he was in such that he could barely walk. When I got home he told me he, too, had reached out to Meijer, contacting Meijer corporate. We got a call back a couple of days later from the Regional Manager for Meijer pharmacies. She assured us this would be addressed with the pharmacist. Maybe somebody should let him know there's another pharmacy right across the street... read more
