Highly recommend! I took an 8 week class this year (May/June 2021 via Zoom) with Mel called Book the Audition Room. As a result, I am much more confident with my acting skills, continue to do several self-tapes and book gigs. And isn't that what all actors want? What's great is our class had 6 people (all different levels) in it so we all got to know one another and Mel gave each of us her undivided attention. I consider my fellow students friends for life...and we need readers too...right? Mel is warm, funny, kind, helpful and wants us to succeed. This is why it is critical that we rehearsed scenes outside of class 4-5x a week. Mel knows everything about self-tapes, acting, scene study and she created an audition checklist I always refer to when I have auditions. I am SO GRATEFUL that the Universe brought me to Mel!!!!! Three years ago I went to one of those free workshops at Reproductions and Mel was the speaker, giving 100 actors or so tips on auditioning, headshots, film, TV, etc. I just loved her energy, her vibe and sense of humor. I have taken (3) classes with Mel. I "fell" into acting about 11 months ago and enjoyed it immensely. As a result, I realized if I wanted to be considered for additional roles I had to get rid of my stiff, corporate presentation delivery and be me, in the moment. I struggled for a number of years with finding an acting class suited for me. I love training with Mel and will continue to do so because she is an acting teacher who really cares about her students. I have been in her class for about a year and a half now and absolutely love it! I have learned so much about TV/Film acting. The class meets once a week but requires outside rehearsals with the other students. The students in the class are very dependable and fun to work with.
