Melissa shot our engagement session last year and I'm still so in love with our photos! My husband was a bit nervous about what to expect at our photo shoot (which we did at the Botanical Garden in San Francisco), but Melissa has the sweetest and most engaging demeanor, that he walked out of it saying how much fun he had! Here's a little glimpse into how dedicated Melissa is: On the day of our shoot, we were meeting in San Francisco (we were all coming from the South Bay) in the early AM to catch the sunrise. On the way over she had some car issues, but that didn't deter her from not only making it on time, but being totally relaxed and at no moment were we ever rushed. I can tell you that if I'd been in her situation, I would have rescheduled to deal with my car issues (which she dealt with after our session with her car still parked on the side of the freeway). She had a commitment and she was not going to let us down! Melissa has a talented eye for capturing beautiful shots. She caught some gorgeous lighting which made us so happy that she suggested sunrise to begin with. I also loved that she would suggest poses for us to get the best angles. We have so many amazing photos to share and our family and friends have all commented on how incredible they turned out! ALSO, for whatever reason I always assumed that all photographers had editing skills. I'm not talking about lighting and minor touch ups (which is the norm as I've learned). I'm talking, photoshopping out an ugly building behind a beautiful shot of my husband and I during a sunset or taking out a background of a messy room from one of the only nice shots of me in my wedding dress with my parents. Melissa was not our wedding photographer and while our photographer took beautiful photos, there were a few that I really wanted fixed up (including a couple from the church with heavy lighting). Melissa spent several hours working on these and they look amazing. So much so that I seriously cried from happiness! I know my review is getting long, but I am excited about the work that Melissa does. She cares about each and every one of her clients and it shows. I love that she is also constantly learning and taking classes to improve her skills. I wholeheartedy recommend Melissa for any of your photoshoot needs! Melissa is fabulous! We are OBSESSED with our wedding photos! My husband and I were not sure if we wanted a wedding photographer and we are SO glad that we did! Melissa made it feel like she really enjoyed what she was doing and helped everyone else feel that way too. She was very organized, calm and kept us on time throughout our wedding day. She took every photo that I had requested and helped guide us into additional natural poses, I loved having the different variety. I appreciated her patience's with the group photos and I loved how many photos she took of our guest's enjoying themselves. Melissa took our engagement pictures. My husband and I weren't really sure where we wanted to do the photo shoot. Melissa suggested the beautiful Santa Clara college campus! I had never thought of a college campus. I am so glad she did! It was Springtime and the landscape was absolutely beautiful! Her imagination went beyond creative! The photos came out amazing! I loved that she incorporated our daughter in the pictures. Every time I go back and look at them, they bring a smile to my face and tears of pure joy to my eyes! Melissa has taken photographs of our family on several special occasions. The first was of our immediate family on Thanksgiving; we all had so much fun during the shoot. Melissa is so patient; we had two five year olds and six adults! The second occasion was for my mother's 80th birthday. We had our entire family, including two six year olds. an eighteen month old, a nine-month old, a five-month old and a three-month old! Can you imagine? in total, there were 22 people! We wanted an entire group picture, plus each individual family! Melissa never got flustered, and was so calm and never stopped smiling! With each shot, she not only captured the moment, but was successful in capturing personalities, especially of the children. Melissa captured them being themselves and having fun, as well as the adults! Each photograph was wonderful. I will always call on Melissa for our pictures; she is the best!
