I was last here over ten years ago and honestly couldn't recognize anything (obviously, I wasn't paying attention then). How was our experience when we used this gateway into Melbourne from our cruise ship!? PURCHASE Myki Card Daily Rate ($6.00AUD): Used for their public transportation, this was a wonderful deal especially if you were in port for the day to get to/from Melbourne's Central Business District (CBD) or elsewhere once you left the port area. Once you made it inside the CBD all trams were FREE. The kind woman who sold us our tram card was equally cheery and kind. Upon our return, the outside port security guards were straight business and ushered us in while the Princess Cruises staff were wonderful as always. From start to finish, everyone we came in contact with was awesome - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I honestly didn't notice any onsite parking at the terminal. However, there was a nearby passenger drop-off/pick-up location just past the security gates, and there potentially was some street parking once you were outside the terminal area. Otherwise, the 109 Tram conveniently took you to/from the Station Pier into the City Center - 'nuff said. I arrived safely, the place was secure, it offered shelter, it sold tickets to their easy tram system, and everyone I dealt with was super helpful and nice. There wasn't anything else I needed. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $6.00AUD / $4.00USD BEFORE any discounts/tip). Large terminal, we followed the cues and got outside easily. Volunteers available to answer all of our questions & provide maps. Once outside the terminal we found the 109 tram to downtown. Using credit cards we were able to purchase a Myki card for all teams, buses & trains in Melbourne. read more

Very convenient to the MYKI tram that will take you right into the city! You must buy a card in the convenient store next to the tram stop if you don't have one. Really appreciated the convenience of accessing the city by this light rail system from the cruise terminal! The terminal itself is small and there is not much too it. It's a nice clean and pleasant area to walk around in though with a few bars and restaurants with wifi close by as well. read more
