It's not just leather couches, though there're certainly enough of them to go around the store. You can also get chairs, tables and the odd entertainment unit. A lot of the furniture has a vaguely art deco, modernist vibe to it, and anyone who loves white furniture is might see something that they like. The prices seem pretty standard for your long term furniture investments. Most of the couches I tried were fairly comfortable, but they all seemed to be on slightly to obtuse an angle for my particular taste, so slouchers will probably enjoy them more than people who like to sit relatively upright. A lot of the stock can also be found and purchased online.

I stumbled upon this store walking home from Barkly Square. I spotted a bamboo tiki bar (with matching bar stools) in the window and immediately gravitated towards it - it was so damn beautiful. Naturally, as most things are, it was hugely out of my price range but WOW it was nice to imagine it in my living room. Angelucci 20th Century don't just do furniture! They also have great homewares, mirrors and a variety of knick knacks (everyone loves a knick knack). A great warehouse for Saturday afternoon browsing or if you have a nice budget to spend on home-decorating or are looking for a gift with a difference. This is the second Angelucci store, sister to the Fitzroy store, and acts as more of a warehouse than a retail store.

For Tombo is an incredible Westgarth shop which specialises in 'Asian antique furniture and Japanese fabrics' and sells a truly staggering range of both. An almost warehouse sized space on High Street, Tombo is absolutely packed to the rafters with gorgeous vintage Chinese cabinets and benches and a beautiful range of antique Japanese kimonos. Also incredible? Tombo's exceptional range of textiles numbering some of the most beautiful antique crêpe de Chines I've ever seen. Sure, the staff probably don't have any books on customer service sitting at home but from what I've observed if you show a real interest in Tombo's stock its staff will show an interest in you. At around $1500 for a cabinet the furniture will have to wait, but I'll definitely be returning to Tombo for an antique kimono at some point soon.

The design store sits here, and sells a range of handmade kids clothes, blankets and other crafts. They also stock amazing Marimekko collection and small collections from independent jewellers, cards, and other things. It's a lovely little shop that you will surprisingly spend Way too much time in.
