After 2 hours of trying to unlock our older bedroom door, we called Melin's. It was after 4 PM. Andrew and Jonathan arrived at our home around 5 PM. Within 20 minutes, the old lock and door knob were gone with new ones replaced. They took their time to explain what had gone wrong with the lock and what they had to do to unlock it. SERVICE SUCKS. Lady in the back decided she wasn't ready attend my daughter to continue to gossip with a man about politics and how she's getting old and ready to retire. My daughter waited about 20 minutes to not even get asked what she was there for. Owner truly needs to reconsider who's he/she is hiring if employees are descriminating and LAZY. truly disappointed!!! read more

worst company I've ever dealt with. We needed a lock re-keyed so I called on a Monday to schedule for Thursday. I let them know we don't live at the address. They said they'd be out between 9:00 and noon and they'd call an hour before they arrive. I then called on Wednesday to ask about another service and at that time I confirmed the details. The Thursday time windows came and went so I called them. They said they don't give times (they did -- twice!) they just squeeze people in. Good luck! read more

I tried, and failed, to install new locks on our new house. Our doors are old and required modification beyond my capabilities. Melin's came out and spent over an hour working on our doors. I was surprised when the bill came and reflected only the standard service visit fee. Yes, they were 15 minutes late, but they called and apologized in advance. This is a solid family run business. I had an odd key to make (round) and even with some issues with the machine, they stuck with it tjrough trial and error for 15 plus minutes until they got it right. I braced for a large bill, howver it turnes out to be not much more than a normal double side key. read more

Dont bother. I brought in a lock box on thursday that I had lost the key for. They told me they would call me on either friday or saturday at the latest and they woiuld get the key made for me. It is now 3:30 on TUESDAY so I called them. Basically they told me that my project wasnt important enough. What terrible customer service. I will never step foot in that store again. read more
