There's a lot of construction going on in front of the hotel so be mindful when crossing the street and/or parking. The hotel is in a good location. The lobby is spacious and clean. Elevators require using a keypad assigning a designated elevator so don't just hop in an elevator that's open. The rooms and bathroom are also spacious but has limited lighting. Everything was a bit dark. The shower in my room didn't really work. The water pressure was minimal with the handheld and the A/C didn't work in my room leaving it muggy and humid my second night here. I'd recommend visiting the pool if you're staying here though!

Rooms were old and dirty. Water pressure was weak, sink was clogged, stain on bed spread, rough bedsheets, and shower tub is an accident waiting to happen. Pluses are the updated lobby and high-tech elevators. But a nice clean room is what you want during your vacation which this place lacks.

Nice, stylish building with large rooms. Hotel has plenty of amenities, but is severely lacking in service.

The breakfast buffet sold me here though as it is quite large, yet offers a great variety of different types of food.

Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the concierge, who spoke fluent English and Spanish, and she guided us through the various amenities and nearby sights that Sevilla is famous for. Due to our Marriott Bonvoy status, we were also provided the option of a $20/day (per room) credit towards the hotel's restaurant. The hotel is sparsely decorated, with a minimalist vibe - it feels slightly dated and in need of some new decor. The gym is tiny, with a bike, treadmill, and adjustable weight machine, but served our needs for our one-night stay. There is also a rooftop pool, which is small, but perfect for catching a break from the sweltering Sevilla summer heat! One of our rooms was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and open, with a large bathroom and a nice sitting area. Our other room with two full-sized beds was smaller, but also had a large bathroom. The rooms are clean with stocked minibars, and complimentary almond cookes from a local bakery are also provided! We tried the hotel's restaurant for dinner the night we arrived, as we had a €40 credit that day between our two rooms. We ordered a Prawn Salad, Ham Croquettes, some sort of Pizza, and a Cheese Plate. The food was solid if not stellar - the seafood in vegetables in my salad tasted fresh, though it was overdressed, the ham croquettes were crispy on the outside and rich on the inside, though overseasoned, and the pizza was fairly standard. The cheese plate was the best dish of the night - with a variety of four different cheeses (with varying textures and tastes), walnuts, and a tart marmalade, this was a great option to share. For four dishes, it was around €70, though with the credit, it was only €30. For breakfast the next day, we returned to the hotel restaurant to use our credit for the day before leaving. The hotel breakfast is extensive, with a buffet-style layout comprised of Spanish favorites, such as jamón ibérico, as well as more traditional breakfast fare, such as scrambled eggs and toast. For those with a sweet tooth, there are assorted pastries and breakfast breads/cakes, and there's also a wide variety of yogurts and fresh fruit for those craving healthier fare. I believe the breakfast buffet option was around €18/person, which is a bit high, but only €8/person with the credit we had! Overall, I would say that the AC Hotel in Sevilla is a great option that was on the less pricey side (book early!) - the amenities are decent, the location is a bit out of the way but quiet and peaceful, and service is kind and helpful.

Furthermore, the hotel is a mere 10 minute drive from most of the best tourist attractions in the Sevilla area. Upon arriving we were greeted by the very friendly concierge desk. Only issue we had during our stay was that the price quoted by the front desk was significantly higher than the one quoted online on the Marriott website. To combat this we had to book online, and wait several minutes for the reservation to, "kick in" with the front desk. Other than the above issue, everything was great at the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were nice. Room service was 24 hours a day which was especially convenient considering that a lot of restaurants in the surrounding area close by midnight. The hotel also has a sparking garage, and there is lots of near by free stream parking. Only thing I would not do, is get a triple room. It seems the third bed is a less comfortable trundle bed that was just added to the room, and not the standard more comfortable Marriott beds and mattresses.

The Halls were very hot in the summer as they were not to air conditioned. The pool on the top floor actually was really great maybe a little small though. My friend who I was with had stayed there a couple of years before and he says it has downgraded a bit. The prices have come down but so has the quality. The room actually was pretty good but we had to request a new one because the bathroom was basically the sink and mirror near the bed and the toilet and shower were basically in a water closet. Not good for him. So we were transferred to another room where everything was in one bathroom space. That was good enough for my friend. The air conditioner just worked really hard to keep things cool but it was 40° outside so it didn't work that well. And then I woke up in the middle of the night pretty cold so it was hard to adjust. Overall not bad. Breakfast was pretty amazing! I've yet to be disappointed by a European breakfast at a hotel. Would probably stay here again but maybe consider some other options too. We parked actually in an underground garage near the bus station as it was a lot cheaper. Just a quick 5 to 10 minute walk to the hotel from there.

The rooms are a bit smaller and are cleaned daily but sometimes towels are missing, not being properly replaced, and there is no facial tissue provided. Being an Elite member doesn't mean anything to this hotel staff. The fitness center lacks water and has limited exercise machines. Management becomes upset if you bring in your own food and eat this in their lobby before 6 pm even though their bar and restaurant won't open up until 8 p.m. every evening. The good news is that housekeeping does a decent job on a daily basis. Make sure you bring an international adapter if you have electronics you need to recharge. At least, the floor I was staying at was quiet and night and the room's black out curtains are very effective. There are only a few limited Marriott hotels in Sevilla. If I had to do this again, I would choose another hotel that will recognize loyal Marriott bonvoy members.

It was very convenient to take in the sights of the Espana Plaza. Other sites and restaurants are anywhere from a one to fifteen minutes walk away depending on what your interests are. The breakfast in the hotel is awesome as there are many options to choose from hot/cold options, various breads/pastries and various fruits/vegetables. The only disappointment we experienced at the Melia Sevilla Hotel was in the onsite restaurant, Quimera for dinner. Although the food is very good, their spontaneous appetizer option was offered in a forced payment manner. The first visit for dinner we were served croquettes by a waiter as a complimentary appetizer and we said we ordered croquettes, he stated these are complimentary. However, on the bill there was a $7.50 charge for 3 small croquettes that we did not request as we had placed an order of croquettes as part of our dinner option in which we received six in the dinner order. Ok, you thought we would have learned our lesson and we did. On our second visit for dinner, another friend joined us who accepted a piece of bread, but the three of us from the previous visit stated we didn't want bread as we ordered dinner options that included bread "chicken and waffles"...which are by the way very good. Again when the bill came, we were charged $10.00 as if each person received bread although only one person accepted "a" piece of bread from the waiter. We could understand if they placed a bread basket on the table with enough bread for each person to charge each person for bread "provided." But NO, they have a RIDICULOUS policy that if one person receives one piece of bread from the waiter, they charge the entire party for a piece of bread. We are so grateful that our fourth guest refused the "FORCED APPETIZER" due to the waiter literally plopping the appetizer onto the table without us asking for it and describing it as spicy which our guest does not like. Therefore, the waiter retrieved the appetizer from the table and no additional fee was charged this time as the rest of the party also refused the "FORCED APPETIZERS." Unfortunately, on our last evening in town, we declined to dine in the Quimera restaurant onsite which based on the lateness of the day would have been convenient and we dined elsewhere in the city.
