It's been years since I last visited a Mellow Mushroom. I decided to go with their sausagefest calzone, and it was incredibly satisfying. The crust had that signature doughy texture, and they definitely didn't short the fillings. Every bite was meaty and loaded with cheese. My only small adjustment was that I needed to order extra sauce on the side, for the second half. The one sauce didn't quite cut it for the whole 'zone. I'd definitely recommend it. Also, their Caesar salad was actually very tasty! The salad I asked for it lightly dressed, and they brought it perfectly. Overall the service was great and it had the quirky mellow vibe. read more

I went to mellow mushroom in search of some good pizza ! Man did I hit the jackpot. They had all types of pizza for my liking's. I recommend the funky q chicken pizza. The caramelized onions and bbq are something special to that pizza. I love the option of having the whole or split pizza toppings. I also recommend the cloud 9 garlic Parmesan wings. Also get the 10 piece 5 is a tease. The service was pretty fast and attentive , as the food was made fresh to order. The ambiance gives me like a stoner vibe with the mushrooms and outstanding colors lit around. Definitely recommend and I will be back!! read more

Let me start by saying we used to love the east Memphis location and pizza is my favorite food. We have eaten at the Germantown location twice in the last month. Both times it took about an hour and a half to get our pizza. We ordered standard pizza straight off the menu. Tonight they said you could only order beer because their liquor license had lapsed and the salad was horrible. The lettuce looked as bad as the roads in Memphis do after the snow storm. For a weekend hangout, my friend and I decided to try Mellow Mushroom. The restaurant wasn't that busy, so we were able to get seated at a table quickly. After being seated at our table, I began to notice the design on the table and the various designs scattered throughout the place. For appetizers, we ordered the cheese bread. The cheese bread was amazing and a good way to kick off our lunch. For our main dishes, my friend ordered the smash burger, and I ordered a half-and-half pizza. For the half-and-half pizza, one half was the Mighty Meaty Pizza, and the other half was the Funky Q Chicken pizza. My friend told me that her Smashburger was good and perfectly seasoned. For the Mighty Meaty Pizza half, all the flavors with the pepperoni, bacon, Italian Sausage, and ham just blended amazingly together. For the Funky Q Chicken pizza half, it was good as well, especially with the BBQ sauce, but the only criticism I have with it is that I really didn't taste much of the chicken or bacon on it. Greeted quickly as I entered to pickup my online order. After getting home, I tried my pizza and the ground beef was EXTREMELY salty. This made the pizza practically inedible. I ordered curbside at this location. I like how accommodating the team member was on the phone. They asked if I would like to come inside to pick up my pizza or they could bring it out. The young lady was kind to walk it outside given all curbside parking spots were taken. I could tell it was a busy time of the evening for them given a line was outside the door. I haven't stepped into the location to know what the vibe is inside. I am sure it is similar to all other locations I have been inside. I've eaten at several Mellow Mushrooms, and this was unlike any other. First, we waited at the hostess stand for several minutes with no sign of a host. They were busy, so we found two seats at the bar. Tired and hungry, we sat there for over 5 minutes while the bartender entirely ignored us. She looked directly at us and picked up glassware from right in front of us without ever even acknowledging our existence. Eventually, she took a break from visiting with her friends at the bar and came and asked us what she could get for us. I asked for a menu and a tap list. Almost 10 minutes later.we got sticky menus and a tap list thrown on the bar. Then, she left the bar unattended for about 10 minutes. Not sure where she went, but when she came back and continued visiting with her friends while washing the barware. After almost 30 minutes sitting at the bar, she finally came and took our order. After another conversation with her friends, she finally brought us two beers. The cocktail napkins were right there, but she couldn't be bothered to toss a couple down on the nasty, sticky bar. No time to complain... We might never see our food. About 30 minutes later, we got our pizzas. While we were waiting, my wife commented to me, "What are the chances we can get a second beer?" We hadn't noticed the server station behind us, but a cute little server chimed in, "Not likely!" over my shoulder. We chatted with her for a couple minutes. She tried her best to make our experience better, but it was simply out of her control. She concurred that the bartender had absolutely no craps to give about us and was generally unpleasant. The bartender did, however, provide excellent service to the staff who was coming off shift. She served each of them two rounds while we waited for her to bring us our check During the entire time, there were only a few people at the bar, and never once did she stop and wipe down the bar or come to check on us. The ONLY reason they got two stars is because the pizza was very good and the other server genuinely wanted us to enjoy our dinner despite the fact we weren't her customers and she couldn't fix any of the issues. Came here with a friend for lunch and it was not busy at all which was good for us. We had to leave our contact information for COVID-19 purposes, the menu(s) is a digital scan except for the brunch menu, and table/booths were blocked off to provide social distancing. We were seated at a booth that was clean, our waitress wore a mask, and she made sure not to hover over the table when she served us. I ordered the House Salad w/Caesar dressing. The salad was full and dressing was creamy. Definitely a good, light starter. The pizza I ordered was the House Special (medium, thin) and I made some substitutions. The pizza came out hot and it was large enough to have leftovers. It was a little more cheese than I wanted but I know to limit that next time and the sausage was a tad bit on the dry side but it didn't take away from the pizza that much. I did order no tomatoes (solid) and it came with it but I just picked them off. Overall it was a good experience especially during a pandemic and I will come back to try different items. read more

I've been to this chain with friends often but I never seem to come here myself. I keep forgetting why but the most reason is because it's pretty expensive and they only sell slices at lunch (as far as I know) and I can only really afford to buy a slice or two. The pizza is pretty good and they have a nice variety of options that I haven't seen elsewhere. I gotta admit this is the first place that had a buffalo chicken pizza I really enjoyed. I also loved the beer cheese and I usually hate beer cheese everywhere else so those were two surprises. I also enjoyed trivia with my friends and recommend it. I like this place! I dig the atmosphere. I appreciate the staff being so cool. I love the pizza! It's the best pizza in Germantown, without a doubt. Each time I've been here I have really liked my food. Ive been to a bunch of MM in the past and I've always liked their pizza. My wife on the other hand does not like it it all. She is a pizza snob in a way. We can all look past that, right... The last few times I've been here were with fellow Pokemon Go players. That's right. Pokémon Go! It's still a thing, and if you are missing out, well... Most recently, we had a party for one of our PoGo friends for his birthday. We had at least 40 people there and they handled it perfectly. They accommodated us very well and a great time was had by all. I will return with my friends and possibly my kids. Wifey won't have it. I like the local special pizza a lot. My partner and I went on a Sunday, a little after 3pm. The restaurant was nearly empty. When we were seated, a server said "i have to go find out who has this table." That should have been our cue to leave then as there were only about 2 tables with customers. We ordered our food and drinks and waited for a while before we received our appetizer, spinach dip. The bowl was scalding hot, however, the spinach dip was warm. Some pieces of the bread were burnt. No one came and checked on us, asked us. how our food was or anything. Our server just sat about 2 tables away on her phone. Again, another sign that we should have just left. We were giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they had a lot of online orders since football was on, and that's why our food was taking so long. However, a table that came in after we ordered, had received their food, eaten it and left. The entire time we waited, we weren't offered refills. There was no acknowledgement that we were even there. Our food came out roughly 50 minutes later, and it was luke warm. There was no steam or cheesy strings of cheese. Again, our server did not even come to check on us or our food. When we finally got her attention, she took our pizza back and said loudly "THEY SAID THE FOOD ISN'T HOT" as if we were lying about visibly cold pizza. The solution? Just heat it up. So we got our same pizza back, reheated. Hard. Dry. it wasn't until we were visibly upset that we even got an offer for refills. To be in a near empty establishment where there are more workers than customers and still not receive good service is completely unacceptable. What was supposed to be the jumpstart to our anniversary week ended up being a complete disappointment. The owner did come out and offer to help, that's the only reason i gave them a 2 for service. Solid pizza place in Germantown. My group of 3 shared 2 medium pizzas and there was still some left for take home. The Kosmic Karma is one I'd recommend for any non-meat pizza. Very cheesy and lots of tomato and spinach to enjoy. The BBQ chicken pizza is solid but the chicken was a little dry. This place has very floppy pizza if you're into that - the toppings just kinda come right off as you're picking it up. The end crust is very tasty & flavorful and not something you'd want to skip. COVID related - the hostess asked if any of us were experiencing symptoms before she seated us. Many tables were blocked off to accommodate to social distancing but we were first escorted to a booth that was a foot away from another table in which we asked to move. It took 7 years' time for me to come to Mellow Mushroom for a second time. We have been trying to review this place and we finally made it here. It has exceptional service, great food, and a professional-looking bar. We sat at the bar, ordered the hummus, and the hummus came out fresh and perfectly made. It was the best hummus I've ever had in Memphis (besides the hummus at Aldo's.) We ordered a half and half pizza to share-1/2 Pacific Rim and 1/2 buffalo chicken with blue cheese dipping sauce. It was amazing (though the crust was a bit undercooked, that was the place's only downfall.) There was also an abundance of TV's in the restaurant, and personalized tappers for the beer (on tap.) The inside is the most inviting inside of a building I have ever seen. If I could give a 6 I would. Will return soon. Update and P.
