We had ordered online for this place and then went and seen it in person. Very nice place and great pizza! It was definitely better than the basic pizza places!

Great location and is usually a must when in Colonial Williamsburg for lunch. Service was fast and food was great in this occasion as well. Seems to be pretty consistent.

We love Mellow Mushroom! This spot is in a great location and always very lively. Our food and drinks were good! We've been here a couple of times and have had good experiences with every time. It wasn't super busy, but we had a hard time getting our waiters attention for the bill. We also got serenaded by a band asking for tips. We love the pizza, the ambience, and the location! A great option for tourists to share a good sized pizza with the family! The little area it's in is also next to an arcade!

For those who want a bougie bite of pizza, mellow mushroom has steak to top off your pizza cravings! There are also fresh pressed juices with turmeric and pineapple. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's perfect for a family gathering, team outing, or solo date![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizza is fresh, cheesy, and has flavorful bread. My favorite thing about this pizza was the variety of toppings offered, ranging from spinach to grilled onions , or steak. Loved that! I'll be back for another order of pizza and fresh juice! We loved the manhattans.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I have to admit what Drew was to this place was that their outdoor patio was heated, dog, friendly, and open in early December.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were so pleasantly surprised by the fantastic list of spirits, and how delicious everything we ordered was. We started with a couple of cocktails, my wife had an amazing Manhattan or several, and I had several whiskeys. Our first food item was the magic meatballs. They came with a delicious array of really flavorful sauces and they were well spiced. We finished the night with a small pepperoni and a small shiitake mushroom pizza. Both were delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor outdoor seating was warm, spacious and they even brought water bowls for our pup.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10 out of 10.

I was going to order online and they let me stand there and order a custom pizza - and when it arrived they gave me plates and silverware and napkins so I could eat in my hotel room - so thoughtful! And the pizza was delicious! My mom does not like mushrooms and even she liked the Holy Shiitake pizza.

The only reason it's not 5 stars is because we did sit there for a little bit before someone came to greet us and although when our waitress got to us, she was VERY sweet and took care of us... the front desk staff acted as if it was a bother that we were there. Not just us, everyone that was ahead of us also. Not greeted with a smile or anything... just a "how many and do you want to sit inside or outside"... The cheese bread was some of the best cheese bread I have ever had. Not the sauce with it tho. It was a little bland. I got the white pizza with half grilled chicken and half shaved ribeye steak and this was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. My kids Mac n cheese was cold, but she is a kid and was ready to eat so she didn't mind... but I did because it could have at least been a little warm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were just visiting Williamsburg for the day but it was a cute area to be in and we will be back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizza was so good that we will be back for the pizza again and just hope the people that work there will be happier to be at work.

Absolutely delicious. I had the Special Pepp pizza and the flavor combination was such a joy to shove in my mouth.

The Mellow Mushroom offers interesting pizzas in addition to traditional pies. It's also a fun place with cool atmosphere that plays off the Beatles Yellow Submarine song. We started with the Pretzel Bites, which we got for free by signing up on their website. The bites were more like pizza ends. For pizzas: We enjoyed the Kosmic Karma, which reminds me of an elevated Margarita Pizza, with pesto replacing basil leaves. We also had the Steakhouse Pizza, which contained steak, mushrooms, peppers, onions on a garlic and olive oil base. As a group of four, both pizzas were plenty for our table, and we took some home. Pies are more expensive than at a neighborhood pizza joint, but you're paying for creative food and a neat place to eat. The Mellow Mushroom is located in the Colonial Williamsburg area across from William & Mary, so it's always busy. We were lucky to get a table on a Tuesday evening in early December. Parking is nearby in the city's lots, and you can get 2 hours free by using Passport Parking in some lots, like the one on Francis Street.

We weren't sure where the restaurant was located within the building so we stopped to ask where the Terrace a room was at a hostess stand where three women were working. They all stared at us like we had dropped from the sky and then one woman gestured down the hall. Except it wasn't down the hall. We were in fact at the Terrace Room hostess stand. Sort of an odd beginning. We were seated at a two top with one chair and a couch with huge pillows scattered all over that left no room to actually sit. Had to toss them to the center of the couch to squeeze in. The menus are giant in size so it's hard to lay them down on the small table. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We started off with a bourbon cocktail that included some candied ginger and was very refreshing. The server gave us each a small cube of bread and some butter. It was sort of comical how miserly they were with the bread. The menu offerings were sort of odd but we were able to watch what other tables ordered to make our selections. The entree prices are pretty hefty. We each got a Caesar Salad to start that was good. We both settled on the brisket sandwich (a July Fourth special) and one of us got the fries and the other a side of summer veggies that was squash & zucchini. The sandwich was okay but nothing grand for $21 and the veggie side caused us to both explode with laughter at how meager it was. C'mon folks, squash is dirt cheap so load it up. Absolutely ridiculous. Their wine selections were not super familiar to us and pricey but they give you an ample pour. The Inn itself is very beautiful and the night stars shimmering on the reflecting pool out front is very romantic. I'd recommend a drink at the bar and skipping the $200 dinner for two.

We have not not dined, or even spent much time at CW since the pandemic. After a hike behind Bassett Hall my wife and I enjoyed lunch. We arrived at noon and were promptly seated in an empty room. Around 20 minutes later the first floor was full. The atmosphere was cool and authentic. Nothing has changed since my previous visit. Our friendly waitress got menus and waters. I started off with an Apple Jack Old Fashioned utilizing Virginia Gentleman bourbon. We reviewed items on the menu that may have been served in the period. We started with apps. My wife had "Chicken Hash", it was like a thick soup. The plating was beautiful and the taste matched. The old fashioned was disappointing because it was so weak. There tends to be a line to get in if you don't have a reservation, but we were seated soon after we got in line around 1:45pm. Their menu is sourced from recipes from the colonial era and the staff are all dressed in the latest colonial fashion. I ordered the fish sandwich which I thought was too salty (perhaps this is period accurate) but my family really liked it. I liked the chips it was served with! I also tried the peanut soup which tasted like drinking peanut butter and I'm not sure if that's for me, but my brother loved it. I had a bit of the beef hash which was pretty tasty! I also had the chocolate tart which was very chocolatey. For a drink we had the non alcoholic orange ginger peach bowl, which served our family of 5 just fine for $16. There was entertainment during our meal, a woman came around and sang a colonial song before taking out a recorder and playing a dancing song. This was fun! Our waitress rubbed us the wrong way. She repeated our order several times to us because she was not writing it down. I was not confident we would get the right food. When we tried to add other things she made us wait since she was busy committing everything to memory. She seemed annoyed when we put in other orders for food, but she did bring us an extra peanut soup "in case" we wanted another one, since we had put in an order for a soup after we initially ordered. She did not really seem keen on serving us. The service was slow, too. At the end of the meal, she put something of ours on another table's check, then took our check back to add what she missed. There was also a bowl of soup on our check that we did not order and the card was charged twice, plus another $18 charge. Not sure what ye olde POS system they're using back there...
