I have never really put much thought into a bank or credit union. I had a few others that gave me surprise fees and would do random check holds to purposely try to get me with overdraft fees. I've never had a single issue with Members choice. I've used this location for personal loans, 2 cars financed, IRA's, savings accounts for my kids, and personal checking. I've recommended Members Choice to every friend I can. They gave me a large loan without even checking my credit because I had an established relationship with them. I love Members Choice. The Grand Parkway location is fast. I've never had a long wait. My kids like it because of the free suckers and cookies. read more

I have worked with this office with my business accounts. I also set up my grandsons account. They were so helpful setting up his account in a convenient way so as he turned 18 it would not have any changes. Then they helped me several times when stuck traveling and needing info or money... and money transferred into into my grandsons account while he's traveling. I've been using MCCU since 1980 here in Houston had my Park Ten Oil & Gas company monthly paycheck auto paid to them way back then and also now in 2025. Recently I found to my big surprise that the closest branch to me on Eldridge Parkway near Briar Forrest just closed recently 2025 and the bigger one used to be in Park Ten was their main office location! :-( I needed cash from their ATM so drive to both of these locations and both were no longer there! So I had to use Chase Bank and pay the $3.75 fee to use my MCCU ATM card there! I just found on Google that MCCU had moved South of I-10 West near Barker Rd area! Why was I not notified these locations had been closed down either by a Letter or email as they have both on file there? I tried to call their main number last week but no one called me back in 1 hour!? read more

Love memebers choice but this location is the WORST. Everytime I go to this location there is an issue. The bathroom is never clean, they once deposited my check into the wrong account and the other day they made It very difficult for me to pay my credit card with them when it is literally the same way I have always paid my card with them. Do yourself a favor and drive down the street to the bigger and better and more professional location off i10. read more

Their fraud protection for debit cards is horrible, at best. Freeze your account then the jokers on the phone make up excuses on why they can't unlock it even after the purchases are verified. Then the $5 hit every time for their "overdraft protection". Give me a break. And they won't lump all the charges into one transaction. Nope gotta get those $5 fees in to cover that nice big corporate building they just finished over by Barker Cypress and I-10. They'll nickle and dime you to death. They moved locations off of 99 and now it's even more inconvenient to get in and out of the branch. Who ever made the decision to move there had zero idea or didn't care at all about customer convenience. Plus the ATM at the far lane is almost always closed. The only positive is the tellers inside, when you used to be able to go inside, were nice. But since they're closed, that's not even much of a "pro" anymore. Avoid this place at all costs. Needed to run in quick to get cash and there were 2-3 associates ready with a smile upon entering. In and out in 3 minutes with checks, just wonderful! Always greeted with a friendly face at this location and Spring Green location. read more

I applied for a auto loan last year and talked to a guy I think his name was Scott Said I was approved and gave me my terms, interest rate and monthly payment and said some would call me the next day to finalize it. Waited for a call nothing so I decided to call back they had no record of me calling or of my application a few days later they called and said that the guy was a call center employee and should not have gave me the information he gave and gave me a higher interest rate and higher monthly payment. A year later I totaled the car and I called mccu to start the gap process spoke to Jose and asked him what I needed and he said I needed 2 forums from my insurance co got and sent it over let a week go by and then found out that gap process had not been started but that I needed more documents for the process to start. So I spoke with Elsa and explained to her that I was expecting the process to be done by now so I could apply for new loan and she said that I could apply when payment was received from geico, so waited for check to clear applied for new loan but I was denied because gap had not cleared remaining balance on vehicle! I had my savings account with MCCU ever since I came to USA. The bank staff are super nice and efficient and customer centric. I had same expectations when I decided to get my housing loan through them. But unfortunately, the bank staff bait and switched me it seems. He started off with a nice interest rate of 3.375 and no mortgage insurance. As I had closed in on the purchase, he increased the rates step by step giving weird reasons. He knew I was in a point of no return with the purchase. Finally I was forced to sign for 3.65 percent with a mortgage insurance!!. I probably would've agreed for 3.65 initially if they were straightforward about it. I felt like I was with a third rate used car dealership. I will still bank with them, but for loans, no thank you. read more

Got a car loan and opened a savings account w/MCCU and am very impressed. Tonya Jones, my loan officer and Katonya Jack, the manager, worked w/me every step of the way. Banks don't work w/you the way a credit union will. I can't thank Tonya and Katonya enough. I am so happy w/my new car! I can't say this is the best credit union I've dealt with, but it has its positives and negatives. Positives are that you can just walk in to get a new debit card unlike some other credit unions and banks I've had. Negatives are their loans are crap compared to other banks and credit unions - their loan officers are just as likely to offer you a stupid interest rate even if your score is over 750. Going to a CU to get a cheap loan use to be a sure thing, but not any longer, so make sure you shop around and don't trust them just because you have your money here. I have no issues with their website or their app other than it logging me out too much. Otherwise I'm never treated rudely here or sent away unhappy. read more

I have been with Members Choice since I moved to Katy in 2012. I've been with a credit union my entire adult life so I expected a great experience when I joined MCCU. I was not disappointed. The woman who opened our account was at the branch I go to until last year..every time I walked in she would greet me by name. She would ask about my kids, knew all of their names and really made me feel like I was welcome. Everyone there did. It was great knowing all of the staff. I eventually opened a business and went straight there to open an account. Just like any banking institution, they have their bad days, but overall I am extremely pleased to be a member here. They really create a welcoming atmosphere. read more

I've been banking with members choice for just over 7 years. everything was great until two weeks ago. my transmission went out. I had to liquidate assets and transfer money in order to pay for it. I caught a ride across town to pick up my car and try to pay for it. first I use my debit card, didn't work. then a check still declined. so I call members choice only to be told there is a limit to how much money I can spend in a day and since it's 5 and after hours they can't help me. spending over 2k to fix my car that I'm still paying off shouldn't be any more painful than it already is. last week after work I go run some errands. when I swipe my card I am told that the card is flagged as fraud. members choice deactivated my card without notifying me. luckily I wasn't across town and needing to get gas. when i called they said they would rush deliver me a new card in time for me to go out of town for the weekend. I did not receive that card at all. I did however locate the card they had initially sent me a month ago so I tried to activate it. no such luck. so now I need to buy groceries for the week and put gas in my car to get to work and can't access my money. the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. and if you need assistance after hours in most cases your out of luck. get it together members choice. I'm currently finding a new bank. read more

This has been the best financial institution I've ever done business with. I'm so glad we became members with this Credit Union. The staff are very nice as well as the online support staff. The app works really good, but could use a few tweaks. Also, I can't wait until they get personalized debit cards. The online support team reversed some fees for me when I made mistake I transferred money to the wrong account and spent money from the wrong account. Although my visit was not pleasant because I was not able to get my credit card made that day after waiting half a month to receive it. The lady that was helping me was very nice and did all she could to get it and unfortunately still i didn't get my credit card that day but had to come back a third time to finally get it printed. If i could request the company to get cards overnight to their clients if they have waited this long to get it. After waiting my time three times this should have been offered from the beginning. This branch has always been nice and helpful this review is meant for the company to start offering this suggestion. read more

Member's Choice Credit Union has been a nightmare to work with! They do not honor offers and promotions that were promised to recruit members or new accounts. The incompetent staff sends customers on a run around to avoid losing accounts. Specifically speaking, they held $1,500 for more than EIGHT MONTHS and sold our credit card account without notifying us in any way. They're locations are inconvenient and fees are higher than advertised. It has been a disaster and today, when we asked to speak with the manager, she spoke to us THROUGH their customer service, not directly. We closed all accounts - AVOID THIS CREDIT UNION AT ALL COSTS! read more

Very shady practices. Attached $2,500 insurance to an auto loan with zero notice. Tons of red tape to remove it. Added penalty fees to same auto loan by reducing payment to principal. That's extending the length of a fixed rate loan with no paper work. 30.06 sign is out front while security guards play on their smart phones ignoring customers. Good target to be robbed. read more
