Oh my! We were visiting our favorite cabinet shop near Bowling Green, Missouri today (Eicher Brothers) and played our YELP game to find a local place to eat. What a wonderful find! Our lunch was delicious - their famous tenderloin sandwich and a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The iced tea was perfect as well. We now have two reasons to go to back Bowling Green! read more

They made a red velvet cream cheese icing birthday cake for a friend --decorated. It was delicious., but passed for homemade which was exactly what I wanted, since I intended to bake it myself, but was not able in time. It was fresh, good texture & tasted great! Home Cookin that reminds you of Grandma's recipes! Homemade sweet tea and lemonade served in Mason jars!! My family and I spent a long weekend at Lake of the Ozarks. We were hungry as we were passing through Bowling Green on our way home . I checked for food in the area and came across MeMe's Pantry, so we pulled in. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised at the welcoming feel as we walked in the door. Appears to be a place locals go, where they are known by name. Our waitress greeted us immediately!! My husband and I ordered the lunch specials they offered and my children ordered burgers! Our meals were deliciously homemade! The sweet tea perfect AND it's served in a Mason Jar!!!! We decided to indulge in dessert and WOW! The cheesecake is to die for! We will certainly stop here again when we head back to the ozarks!!! When you pull up to the restaurant it's not much to look at & the parking lot is kind of small but, it's full. That in itself, is always a good sign. The restaurant is very cute. I like the decor, very traditional for a mom-and-pop place. The waitress was very kind and efficient. The food was delicious and mind you, you do get plenty of it! my only complaint was if they're going to work so hard at making something that's good, don't skimp on the buns buy some decent buns! Soooo... this is just a really solid local diner. I had to be in Bowling Green for a 1:30 Court appearance and needed some lunch. Great local crowd and quick friendly service and a solid bacon cheeseburger. Good crinkle cut fries. Sweet tea and regular tea. Reasonable price. Fast service. Family friendly. Clean restroom. Service was excellent. Friendly welcoming even though it was 20 minutes before closing time. Country small town America atmosphere top notch. Food ? Well, bLT was just ok, grilled cheese was pretty good, grilled ham, cheese was not very good with ? cheese and the tenderloin was huge, heavily breaded and not a favorite of anyone at our table but the waitress and a customer who ordered it ahead of us. Glad we happened upon this place on our way south to St. Louis! We stopped during the Monday lunch rush, and the place was hopping with locals. Service was great! I really enjoyed my BLT on sourdough with chips. The bacon was delicious, and the mayo was nice and tangy. My husband had the tenderloin with chips. It was huge! It was a little dry due to being pounded a little too thin, but was still decent. His fresh-brewed iced tea was excellent. We splurged on a chocolate hazelnut cheesecake that was phenomenal! Choose the cafe to eat from Yelp on our way home to Illinois. I had BLT and husband had grilled chicken on sourdough with bacon and cheese. They were served with chips. Arguably my favorite food place within three hours of St. Louis. This place is well worth the drive. As you walk in you feel right at home. You are offered the local paper and your order is taken. The wait time is minimal and you get our meal. The portions are HUGE! The food is AMAZING. The Meme"s Melt is the best thing ever! I strongly recommend this place to anyone. Major disappointment- small cup of watery chili and a one slice plain bread grilled cheese and a can of coke $9. THAT'S EXTORTION! No dessert, No chips and NO vaseline. However they have a nice large chef salad reasonably priced. They should stick to donuts, dessert and coffee, or bring MeMe back. read more
