I can't thank her enough for saving my wrist, because I was really ready to just black the whole tattoo out! I'm so beyond happy with how the final product came out, Helen is super talented at what she does! On top of that, the shop itself was really clean and cutely decorated! First, I went in on May 2015 to book my appointments, I have a big back piece that required two dates to complete, according to the artist. So those dates were in October and November. When we booked them, I didn't realize our first appointment fell on Thanksgiving day, so not only did I go out of my way to contact the artist myself to confirm our appointment, which it should have been his job to do, once he said its fine, it shouldn't affect our time slot, I took the day off work in order to get this appointment, yes I worked on Thanksgiving. The day of my appointment, he calls me an hour before my time slot and cancels. Ah well, shit happens. So we booked for a week later, I figured I waited 6 months, whats 1 more week. Anyway my first session came and gone with no issues, my second appointment on November 24 was supposed to be when my tattoo was to be finished. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to complete it, but assured me he'll squeeze me in before December ends since there's only about an hour to an hour and half left of work (according to him) to complete it, so it shouldn't be a problem. I asked if I have to leave another deposit for the final sitting, he told me he wasn't taking anymore bookings until June, so I can't book him, but assured me not to worry. He advised me to contact him via Instagram, so I did about 2 weeks after our last sitting, he never got back to me. After a week of waiting, I decided to call the shop, requested to speak to him, when the person on the phone asked for my name to pass on to Jon, I can hear him say in the background that he remembers me will get back to me, so I was fine with that. It provided me some re-assurance and I'm a fairly patient person. So December comes and goes and I didn't make anything of him not getting back to me because it was the holidays after all. I email him directly in mid January, again, no reply. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided to wait, since he does have a lot of bookings and is in high demand. So after 6 more weeks, nothing, so I went to the shop 2 weeks ago (this is now last week of March) to finally just talk to him face to face. I tried to give him the story of our scenario, but he was getting ready with another client at that time and seemed more interested in just getting rid of me rather than hearing me out. He told me, "what do you want me to do, I'm booked until June", my immediate reaction was you're the one who assured me I won't have to worry bout booking you and you would have it done by DECEMBER, its now almost APRIL. So he told me just to write my name and number on his card and he'll get back to me, I did, but I knew full well that wasn't going to happen and it was more just to get me to leave...considering all this bullshit that occurred, I doubt that happens and am now looking for another artist to finish his incomplete work. I tried to be patient and reasonable and feel completely mistreated and just passed on. I shouldn't have to wait until June to book him again after he's the one who decided 2 appointments is all he needed. I hope no one else goes through this with Jon. Nothing worse than being left in the dark, personally I feel if you make a promise, you should own up to it and always follow up with your clientele. Its very unprofessional, I should not have to chase you down, being I'm the client. I think his popularity probably has gone to his head.

TLDR; The artist used AI even after I asked for an AI-free design; the artist presented me with a…read moreNeotraditional/Illustrative concept instead of the American Traditional design we agreed upon; when I pointed out that the piece was not what we discussed, the artist dropped me as a client but kept $500 out of my $1000 deposit. The artist presented me with an approximate concept at the consult and told me to trust that he would tattoo each animal in the American Traditional style the day of the tattoo even though the concept he created was not American Traditional. I very clearly said that I was not comfortable with that and that I needed to see the exact design before the appointment. He agreed; I was promised an AI-free, hand-drawn, ready-to-stencil, American Traditional design. I was told that I would receive it far enough it advance to make any adjustments if needed. Less than 24 hours before my appointment, I was sent a collage consisting of the reference I sent and 2 AI images from Pinterest. Even if we disregard the fact that the artist did not hand-draw the design as promised, it was not even American Traditional. The deer was Neotraditional and the squirrel was Illustrative. The squirrel also included an acorn which I did not ask for. I called the shop as soon as I could to let them know that the design I was sent was not the one we had agreed on (hand-drawn, ready-to-stencil, American Traditional). But because the artist sent me the design less than 24 hours before the session, the soonest I could call was the morning of the appointment. I would have communicated sooner if the design was sent to me sooner, as originally promised. The receptionist told me that I needed to come into the studio to continue collaborating with the artist. I asked her to ask the artist when he would have the draft of the drawing done so that I could meet him then. I made it clear that I was willing to continue collaborating. When she called me back, she told me that the artist did not want to continue working with me and that he would only refund 1 of my 2 deposits. I find this extremely unfair. It was not my fault whatsoever that the tattoo did not proceed. I was promised an American Traditional design in advance of the session; I was given a mashup of Neotraditional and Illustrative less than 24 hours before the appointment (and it also included AI, which I had said 3 separate times that I did not want). Furthermore, I was willing to give the artist a chance to draw the design he had promised. I made every effort to see this project through to the end, but the artist chose not to continue. Yet, he kept $500 of my $1000 deposit.

I had sent them the image ahead of time with another image for an idea of shading. We talked to Bahador & made an appointment for the actual tattoo session for both of us. The day of the session we waited a bit as Bahador was with another client & finishing up. We showed him the images again & decided on the size & placement of the tattoo on each of us. Hubby went first & I waited on the couch nearby. It took about 1.5 hours for his session. Then I was next. Hubby had his tattoo placed on his forearm & I had mine placed on my left shoulder. Bahador was professional & nice. I kind of wondered if he was bored because our design was really simple. But we picked him because we really liked his other work that we saw on instagram. I think if I get another tattoo that is more elaborate I would like him to do it. He's very talented. The receptionist Talin (spelling) was really nice also. Her personality is friendly & bubbly. She offered us a drink while we waited. I opted for a simple bottle of water. There is a single washroom on the main floor for customers. There is also a lower level where some other artists work but we didn't go there so I'm not sure what it looks like. The main floor though is very brightly lit. The floors are white tiles. And the walls are white also. The tattoo chairs are black with silver hardware. Everything is very clean. Anyway, we were very satisfied with our matching tattoos. We also think the price was reasonable. I would come back here if I ever get another tattoo. Hubby has been here before & so has my SIL.
