The two girls working at the customer service desk are very rude. I was there 8/21/2024 to inquire about lawn bag stickers. The girl stared at me like I was stupid and literally kept repeating "no, no, no, no" before I could even finish my sentence. Ok I understand you don't have lawn bag stickers but Holy hell you need to be humbled little girl. Beyond rude. You think you're "special"... but you're not. I would give them no stars if it was available. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen. Some of my best friends bought over $5,000 in appliances and are moving into a new house. First off the new fridge is so damaged once we took off the packing the freezer will not seal due to both sides being bent at the bottom. Next the dryer they bought will not work. Conveniently the Yorkville store doesn't have the items in stock but the Montgomery store does except they are offering zero help. All we asked is to have someone from the Montgomery store bring the replacement appliances and we would put the faulty ones in the truck to return. First and foremost, they price match. But keep in mind when they notice that they will be losing too much money. Let's say for instance, anywhere over $50. They find some stupid a** reason not to price match. So let me start by saying. I was there yesterday and I was trying to purchase a Hoover. Cleaner vacuum XL pet friendly. They had it marked for $199. Same box, same name and everything matched only thing that didn't match of course, is the SKU because. It's in a different store so I showed them the same exact vacuum cleaner at Walmart. Going for $168. The young lady decided to reach out to her manager to see what all she needs to do. In order to price match, come to find out. She tells me oh, the SQU doesn't match. I'm like it's not supposed to match. They're not at the same-store, but it's the same brand. The same name, the box color is the same. Is the same size? It's the same brand so I'm confused so I had over $300 worth of merchandise in my buggy. I decided to leave all of that there. Every year, we generally go to the Boy Scouts of America or a Christmas tree lot for a tree....this year, we went to Menards. Need I say more? This is probably the most pathetic tree we have ever had, and of course, can't be returned. Just a waste of $29.99 - makes it worth it to spend the extra money to see the trees unbundled. I have been reluctant to write this but my business has spent thousands at this store and the repeatedly touted 11 percent rebates have never materialized. We have been working on project and made decisions based on this promotion. It has been since June since our first request via mail for rebates and NONE have ever materialized. I have been told that it takes longer for higher amounts but it's now 4 months they are acting in what amounts to criminal fraud. The 11 percent rebate is a complete SCAM. There should be a class action law suit against this corporation. read more

I choose menards anytime of the day over home chepo. They carry more items, always more sales and deals. Good store if you need household items such cleaners, detergents, paper towels. Usually cheaper than even walmart and target. They have variety of candy and smaller companies snack items. They also have propane fill station either for your vehicle if you have one or just in need of tank refill. Cheaper than exchange at gas stations. read more

I thought I'd write a bad review after the completely ridiculous experience I had with an employee named Rachel today but Torey handled the situation so well that I have to give him credit where credit is due. She was so condescending and awful and told me flat out she'd been there for a while and didn't give a f*ck and I could just have her manager help me. As if he doesn't have plenty of work to do and plenty of emoyees to look after, he had to come outside and finish filling my propane tank because she decided in the middle of it to throw a fit and call me rude for asking her how long it would take since my boss was texting me and waiting for me and I'd been waiting outside for 15 minutes before I saw her and asked her for help initially. She's clearly a spoiled little girl who's parents float her through life, I'm not sure what other kind of person would take that so personally and feel so entitled to act that way. I'm sorry Torey had to pick up her slack but he did so promptly and gracefully and was very apologetic and helpful. These 5 stars are for Torey. Much of the staff are quite friendly and try to be as helpful as they can, but the managers are terrible besides a couple by the cashiers, Torrey and Tachah. It is obvious that at its core Menard's does not care about anything but making a sale. Menard's needs better management and better training for their poor employees. read more

I don't like Menards at all. I think they're cheap stores. Well, I needed something and had to stop in here. The store is huge and I didn't know where anything was. The staff was very, very helpful. She showed me right to the area I needed. When I couldn't find the exact item, she helped me find the associated items where I could 'jury rig' the item I was looking for. She was very patient with me and I only spent $9 there. I may have to revisit my opinion of Menards in general. Great experience. Only four stars because they didn't have exactly what I needed. read more

I ordered a board here that they charged me for and said they could get by the end of the week.A month later and multiple trips in to speak to someone in person has yet to produce the board.I even went in and asked for the store manager,which I didn't get.Everyone you talk to tells you the same crap and no one follows through.This is 100% the result of poor management. read more

I really wish I could give negative stars on a review. The Menard's in Yorkville, IL is not a reliable or customer service friendly store. The manager Kyle Lojewski does not care about customer service or trying to rectify mistakes made by his staff. When given the opportunity to fix a mistake made by his staff, he delegated the problem solving to someone else. He refused to help and then hid in the back when I went to the store specifically to speak to him and ask for a return. I will be going out of my way to patron this store. Such a shame! read more

I just moved to Yorkville, IL, from another community, where I frequently shopped at a Menards. Yesterday I visited the Yorkville store for the first time. Prior to going, I read the negative reviews so was braced to have a bad experience. I believe the rater's accounts, but would say to them, this store must have been radically transformed because it is not the store of these negative reviews. I shopped for about an hour and was asked by every employee encountered, if I needed help. In each case they also offered to walk me over to the product for which I was looking. I was very impressed at the deliberate effort to assist the customer. I will definitely become a regular customer of this store. read more

I needed to return a screen door. According to the receipt it had to be returned on 10/14. I of course work during the week, and Danielle at the front desk offered absolutely no help or consideration. Don't shop here, sales people rude. The Oswego store great service, the Yorkville store, bad sales person in Electrical Department. I purchased 2 light fixtures at first store, even though lots on display they didn't have several of the ones that I liked in stock. I did have to make call myself on my cell phone while two sales people watched me see if Yorkville had the product, no answer twice just the phone system. I bought two at first store and tried again calling when I got home. I spoke to a grumpy guy who has no business working with customers or the public. He agreed to hold the two light fixtures I needed, I said I would be by in the morning. He said if I wasn't there by noon he would put them back, no problem. I wasn't able to get there in the morning, I called around 1:00 and got same grumpy guy. I asked him he still had them he said there were three on the shelf. I asked if he could pull the two aside for me I was leaving the house now to drive out there, about a 40 minute drive. He said "they will be on the shelf when you get here". I said what I am asking is for you to set the two aside before I drive out there....here's the best part. Very sarcastically he says "Well, are you going to show up this time?" I told him to not to speak to me that way, that I wasn't able to make it this morning, things come up. He then started to tell me that he will hold them for only an hour, like these are some priceless jewels, the conversation ended at that point. I spoke to Evan the Store Manager just to try and understand why someone would talk that way to a customer. I told him to keep the Lamps, I am returning the original two, and won't be back to Menards. Why should I have to explain to someone that my 90 year old mother has cancer, and that some plans change without notice? Why should you be made to feel guilty for something that is suppose to be a nice thing? In reading posts on line about this company, it doesn't appear as though they care about Customer service too much. Karma, what goes around comes around. read more
