Some of the policies have changed due to COVID but they still provide the great standard and quality of care that I have come to expect from them. They send you a text for a health screening prior to your appointment, they check in again with you at your appointment and take your temperature and then you are off with your CDA/hygienist to one of the private rooms.

She does not try to convince her patients to have all kinds of unnecessary work done (like other dentists do) because she knows that nothing compares to natural teeth. Dr. Fran's conservative, respectful approach is why her patients promote her to others. Any dentist who has pure motives regarding their patient's teeth deserves to have more patients than they can handle and that is why I am writing this review. Dr. Fran is also very gentle which makes her the best dentist for children and those who are worried about pain. Finally, I must say that she is truly a wonderful person and she has a good sense of humour as well. Dianne and Anne work at the front desk and they are really nice ladies. I enjoy talking to them because they are really down to earth and compassionate. I would bring some food and drinks and sit and talk them--but they are too busy. Autumn is one of Dr. Fran's assistants and she is very friendly and up-beat. All said, Dr. Fran and the other ladies make one's dental appointment as calming and pleasant as possible. I close my eyes and get some needed rest while Dr. Fran is working in my mouth, and sometimes get to have a laugh or two during an appointment. Dr. Fran is in the Campbell River Common mall on Ironwood Street. Dollarama and Thrifty Foods are part of the same mall.

I have a reduction in pain and life is easier; feeling more aligned in my movement and getting a better sleep. Sean had a kind nature and he has so much knowledge to offer. His techniques remove restriction in the connective tissue and that is what I love the most. I like to ask questions during treatment, as Sean is a natural teacher. His care leaves me feeling balanced and I have more understanding of how my body works. This knowledge leaves me feeling good about my body, and thankful for all that it does. Sean is very gentle and concerned about applying the right pressure, he was constantly checking with me and I felt in very expert hands during the treatment. The most surprising thing is that he has fixed a problem that I've had for years on my right ear!! I had a constant 'different pressure' feeling that I've tried to treat for a long time with different specialists (I've tried osteopathy, acupuncture, traditional medicine...). Nothing worked for this particular issue. When I had the treatment with Sean I didn't comment anything about this problem on my ear, as I gave up on it some time ago and learned to live with it. But last night, after Sean's treatment, I felt my ear completely normal for the first time in years!! There are a few things that I feel a bit 'different' today: my jaw, my right foot feels different, the knees are more aligned, the hips feel more opened, my neck and shoulders more relaxed... The treatment is gentle but it does a lot! I am going to continue visiting Sean as he also gives you recommendations for your posture and exercises to do on your own. However, only after my appointment, was I informed I would be charged as a new patient since they hadn't seen me in several years ($30 difference). For context, I had called twice because I was pretty sure I had been a patient there before, several times. The time with the doctor was not a new patient consultation but a 10-15 minute adjustment. They did agree to take $15 off the new patient price, but I still felt it was unfair and should have been communicated upfront. On a positive note, the adjustment was good and resolved my neck stiffness. They were also able to get me in quickly, which I appreciated. However, the billing issue left a bad taste in my mouth, so I called them back and explained that I felt misled. Instead of addressing my concern, they defended their practice of not being transparent upfront. It would have been more honest to inform me beforehand that I'd be charged as a new patient, especially since I mentioned I was inquiring around town to find where I had been previously. It is not about the money, but instead about the principle. This experience left a negative impression. I run a business, and I think honesty and transparency are key to good customer service. If I informed someone after the fact that I would be charging them more than they expected, I would likely have unhappy customers, and less than 5-star reviews.

When confronted...rather than offer some sort of compensation ....like 1/2 off or a free complimentary visit the office manager said she was sorry but it was my fault . Treatment sessions are extremely quick. Your wait is longer that the treatment session ....in and out in 5 -10 minutes. I will not be going "back" no pun intended ....more like they are insurance coverage money grabbers
