Senior year and Prom time can be a very stressful time. We went to the Paramus store for my slim 6'2" son. The staff was very helpful. When we went for final fitting and pick up his tux was mistakenly given to another guy. Immediate panic on our end but we were assured they would find the guy to make the switch. As a back up they went to a back up plan to get another one ready for prom day. Three updates and communications were made in a 12 hour period. Luckily our original tux was brought back to the store. Upon pick up everyone was very apologetic and we were so happy to have such awesome customer service. read more

I'm only giving this store one star because I have to. This place is an absolute disaster and the people that work in the store are so rude and unprofessional. I went and got a custom fit suit for my friends wedding and had to work with John Torres. It took him 2 1/2 hours to fit myself and a friend while other workers had people in and out in 30 minutes tops. John said it's cause it was busy but there was only two other customers in the store. When my suit came in and went and tried it on and to my surprise John ordered my stuff four sizes too small. The issue we had after this was my friends wedding was three weeks away. After dealing with their customer service on the phone and in the store I wanted to scream because they could not give me a straight answer of why things were messed up and when I would be receiving the new custom suit. After multiple phone calls and emails we ended up working with Pete who went out of his way to rectify the situation. He was able to push the process through and get me the suit on time for the wedding so he was the only bright spot for that store. I went into try my garments on and the suit needed some alterations and Pete told me to come back in two days and everything would be fixed. When I went back to try my garments on nothing was done for the suit. I had to wait for them to fix the suit because the wedding was the next day. If I didn't need the suit for the wedding I would have asked for a full refund, I will never go back to the store and if anyone asks I will let them know about my experiences and how they should go to another store. read more

Would love to give a 5 star rating but the managers attitude killed that. But otherwise good experience with the two gentlemen for helping me get settled with measurements for my rental. But first the store is way to hot. They have small rental A/C units meant for a small room. That is a joke, I own my own Hvac company and offered some advice to help keep the building cool. The manager just stared at me shrugged and walked away. You could see other customers fanning themselves it was that hot in there. And according to employees it's been like that for almost two months. I would have gladly taken a look at their units and offered some help. read more

Dropped a tux rental off at this location - which went fine. The problem was when I was waiting to use the bathroom, out of view from anyone, and I overheard a male employee speaking to what appeared to be the only female employee in a very demeaning fashion. He reprimanded her for the service she provided, not selling shoes, or offering other products. It sounded like she was new to the store and was struggling with the pace in which she helped people. This man's version of coaching was horrible. He needs to be sent to some management training if he is going to be in a position to coach other employees. When leaving the store, a group of about six male employees were standing around in a circle talking and laughing. I feel terrible for that poor woman working there. That experience combined with the fact that most of the groomsmen's tux rentals were messed up means I'll be avoiding using this business at any location. read more

My general experiences with different Men's Wearhouse chains have been bad, but nothing could have prepared me for the horrible and below any standards of service I received in the Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn branch. The story started a few weeks before my wedding. To be honest, the only reason I got involved with this store in the first place is that I was given a Men's Wearhouse gift card. First I went to the Rt. 17 NJ branch where after a long and frustrating process where I was given subpar service and it was very difficult to find things in my size (which isn't extraordinary--I am a men's small and 30 waist) using this gift card I bought a vest, suit, shirt, and tie. Measurements were taken and the pants and the suit were tailored to fit my size. When I returned to try on my clothes after tailoring, it turned out that the suit jacket was tailored too small and the shirt sleeves were puffed out and too long. When asked how this happened, their answer was "there is no standard" and "you get what you get, it's fine" which was offensive and frustrating, as this was for my wedding. Since I live in Brooklyn, it was hard for me to return to NJ, so I had my clothing sent over to the Brooklyn branch, where upon entering, the employees were in the middle of what looked like a dance party and it took several minutes for me to get their attention. They promised to make the corrections needed so that my suit would fit properly. As I was waiting, I also looked through shoes. I asked for help for finding my size and was given only one pair, and when I asked for more options, was ignored. I asked again for more options and his reply was, "What, that isn't good enough for you?" and when I said no, he replied, "If those shoes are fine, then why do you need another pair?" After pushing further (which I shouldn't have to do for good service) he begrudgingly gave me another pair. In the meantime, I was called to check my shirt, which still wasn't a correct size, so it was sent back for a third repair and by that point the shirt was so poorly tailored that so much fabric was cut from it that the shirt didn't fit me anymore at all. It was the only shirt there in my size and they said there was nothing they could do. By this point, weeks had passed and this all happened a few days before my wedding. Not only would they not give me a discount or any form of compensation, I was completely ignored, never apologized to, and the ridiculous mistake they made was completely disregarded. I was very distraught and at this point close to panic and asked for the manager's help. His reply was no better than his workers. He asked, "Why do you need that shirt, there are other shirts here" even though I insisted that this was the specific shirt that I had chosen for my wedding after careful scrutiny. After all, it wasn't a shirt for any day, it was my wedding day. When pressed further, I was told there is one shirt of that kind in my size but in the Bronx and that I could "take a taxi (from Brooklyn all the way to the Bronx) to get it" and there was "nothing they can do" for me. After ruining my shirt not once but TWICE the least they could do was send a taxi themselves and when politely asked, they replied, "there is a limit of what we can do for our customers." They also when push came to shove didn't have another shirt in my size at all in the entire store. In the end I gave up and used an everyday shirt I have used many times, for my wedding. The entire experience was beyond disrespectful, rude, and completely unacceptable. I will never buy at Men's Wearhouse again, even if given another gift card. I suggest that no one else enters this despicable store either. There are far better, more cordial, and more reasonably priced places to shop than at this horrible chain. read more

I've been here twice now, one time was a few years ago and don't recall having a problem. The last time I was in here was very recently (a few weeks ago). I remember it well because it was snowing and believe it or not there were a bunch of people in the store. Probably because they needed to spruce themselves up for the holiday's like I did. I looked around looking for what I needed, spotted a few ties that I also like and was approached by a salesman. I told him I needed a blazer and he walked me over to where I should start looking. He told me it was buy one get one and figured "why not?" After trying them on and the tailor doing their thing, they told me they'd be ready in a few days. This was the worse Tuxedo experience I have ever had. I was the groom for the wedding and I had to go and get measured 4 times and I still was not satisfied with the way the the tuxedo fit. They wasted my time coming in to get re-measured a few weeks before the wedding. I was not the only one that had trouble. When my best man went to pick up his tuxedo, not one of the items fit him. Why are the prices ONLINE different from the prices in the STORE???? can someone please explain this to me?. after doing our research and picking MWH i went with 9 of my groomsman to rent our tux and because we did our research online and thought that even tho the price was a little hight but the quality was good decided to still go with MWH. To the surprise of all of us , the price was completly different from online and when aksed for an explanation they could not give me a deffinitve answer to the point we had to ask the manager why and he could not give us the answer either but he did honor the price that we saw online. i honestly felt that i was getting ripped off on purpose , we felt like they thought we were stupid enough not to ask questions and put the price that they wanted and because the suit i will love to wear for my wedding was with MWH i did not have a choice to go for that price but NO! when it comes to pricing and specially when we are paying for own wedding i will ask questions! I went here to rent a tux for my son's prom. they were so nice and so patient with him and the other HS boys. My son went back after speaking with his GF about the color of his vest and they very nicely gave recs. and helped them change the order. I also asked for an inexpensive sport coat for my son and the salesperson scoured the racks to fine an $80 sport coat. No upselling or overselling, just right. We will see what happens when the tux arrives! So far, so good! They press the jacket for the life of the jacket - free! That's pretty cool. read more

My personal exp here was terrible.The attention to service lacks with associates.They talk to you as if your less then them because you aren't dressed like them or maybe a different ethnicity.They don't make eye contact even if you talk to them with respect and good mood.Very disorganized with people waiting on line and no one wanting to help. John and his crew took excellent care of me, pointing me in the right direction immediately. I told him I needed alterations by Saturday. He told me they would rush it because of the circumstances. Went here to rent a tux for my wedding along with my 5 groomsmen and ring bearer. They were nice but all suits fit either too big or small. They only give you the suit 2 days before the event. So two days before my wedding I am running back and forth to get the right size. I didn't even want to give 1 star. Do not go to rent a tux. The grooms tux was fitted terribly, he had to come the day of the wedding to get the final fitting done because they botched the length of. the jacket and the pants. The rudest store ever. The employee we worked with a few weeks ago did not listen to what we wanted, kept shoving expensive suits in our face, then got visibly annoyed with us when we just wanted the one, "cheapest" suit he showed us (of the whopping 4 we saw). They're obviously only worried about their commission and not the customer's needs. Then they charge an arm and a leg for alterations. To top it off, my fiance called today to make sure the suit was ready and the response was, "We're professionals. If we told you it would be ready then it's ready." ...not very "professional" to me. Not happy, and I am a pretty understanding person. This was to be a Tux fitting for my son's wedding. Pre set up for the bridal party. Special occation I would say, and my son came with me to the fitting to share the moment. And a moment it was! I had to greet the person behind the counter, and got the ol hand point to the back of the store "over there, they will take care of you". When I finally figured out who "they" were, the girls rushed me through the paperwork, handed me off to a guy who messed up my measurements then just left me standing there with the garments in my hand, to go talk to a friend who came to visit him at work. Checked out. Went back on a hunch because we felt the associate took the wrong measurements. He did. If I was there 15 minutes I was there a long time. We were gonna take a picture or two of us, Dad and Son, at the Tux fitting. Fat chance. We were shoveled in and out before a camera flash would blink. Customer service lacking in a big way at this store. I do not recommend. There are a many men's clothing stores out there who would love your business and treat you right. read more

I went to this men's warehouse as one of the groomsmen in my brothers wedding. They scheduled us for an appointment. When we arrived they told us there would be a long wait because it was first come first serve. Right out of a Seinfeld episode.. why take appointments when they don't hold them? I was ok with the wait, but after the customer service reps insulted the bride-to-be and began muttering derogatory comments we went to the men's warehouse across the street at the mall. We had the same experience as others at this location. None of the suits fit and we each had to go back 3 times. The suits weren't off by little increments... they gave folks different size shoes.. one guy had a size 7 and a size 9 for his shoes.. pant legs were different lengths for each leg.. The staff couldn't locate items that were already in the store. I will say that in the end everything worked out.. but who wants this kind of hastle right before a wedding? It just added to the stress and resulted in the groomsmen and bridal party freaking out right before the wedding. read more

We ha d a wonderful experience here. Bought a suit for my 12 year old son. I can't remember the name of who helped me but he was an older gentleman with really stylish glasses. He was so helpful and agreed that a 12 year old didn't need a $600 suit- we found one for about $250. Super helpful, no pressure, the tailor was quick to mark up the alterations and we are picking up today (Saturday) after purchasing on Tuesday. Everyone was super helpful and service was quick. When I first walked in to return the tux that I rented for a wedding this weekend, the employee who took the bag from me said that it was a day late, no problem, I was aware of it so I was expecting a late charge. He asked how I'd like to pay for it, when I said I want to put it on my perfect fit card, he made a face and said, "you have a perfect fit card?" I wanted to say something nasty but I bit my tongue and just replied yes. Just because I was wearing sweatpants and a tshirt, I felt he made a comment like that. That did not sit well with me. I then proceeded to shop for some suits shirts and ties, but after 20 mins of me piecing some combos together, I decided to leave. There were multiple employees that didn't even ask if I needed help. I can guarantee I'll never shop at this men's warehouse again. But I hope the two employees sitting down right by me find the dark buffalo jeans they were looking for online. read more

Where do I even begin? This place is TERRIBLE and their employees are useless. My husband and I used Men's Wearhouse for tuxes for our wedding. Almost every man's tux (including my husband's) was an improper fit the first time around. I'm not talking about a gain of a few pounds of being off by a little bit -- I'm talking pant sizes being off by an inch or more. They failed to properly measure more than half of the men in our wedding party, thus creating more stress the day before our wedding when we had to scramble to get everyone fitted correctly. My father was also give a broken bow tie, which was discovered on the day of the wedding. I was so angry at their carelessness. They should have checked all accessories before handing everything off to us. Luckily, my friend was able to use a safety pin to hold the bow tie together, but it was just idiocy on the part of Men's Wearhouse. The thing that really put us over the edge, though, was the refund process that my husband had to go through to get his deposit back (he was entitled to the free tux as the groom). They first gave him the $40 deposit back in the form of a gift card. He said he didn't want a gift card. They told him they couldn't refund the money back to his credit card because he didn't have the card physically with him. So we went back and they said they would give the refund back in cash since they couldn't refund it back to the card. What kind of sense does that make? What was the point of going back? Why couldn't they just give him the cash in the first place so we didn't make to make another trip? Furthermore, the guy doing the refund picked up his cell phone TWICE for a personal call. Are you kidding me? Our wedding party spent over $1,000 to rent tuxes from this place. The least he could do was be professional. He got very irate when my husband asked for the money back on his card rather than in cash. But again, if he could only give it back in cash, why did we have to make another trip back? Also, be aware that you can only return the tux to the location that you had picked it up from. They never told us this. We tried to return tuxes to a different location and they wouldn't accept them. Inconvenient. Avoid Men's Wearhouse at all costs. Their salespeople are sleazy, their management practices are terrible, and they're incredibly pushy. Don't waste your time. read more

In a nut shell, don't go here. It is the most unorganized, poorly run clothing store I have ever seen. The sales people are too busy assisting multiple customers at once and we are currently going for a third fitting due to incorrect adjustments. Wrong sized jackets, one sleeve shorter than the other, pants hemmed uneven, yet the manager telling us it looks just fine. I guess if your looking for the homeless look it's just fine. This place is a total cluster f#%¥+k. Even the sales associates clothes don't fit right. A very unprofessional, disorganized and frenetic place. The manager should go for lessons in people skills and how to properly fit men in tuxedoes. As the commercial goes, "we'll make you look good"............yea, if you in a crowd of blind people. i was in a hurry to get a suit for a trip, Stewart Kauffman, Cherif Oussadane, and John were very helpful in getting me what i needed in a timely matter, although i knew very little about suits, choosing colors, matching ties and shirts etc. Furthermore, when i came back to exchange an item, i realized they had a new very good deal and they accepted to apply the deal retroactively to my previous bill, which was a good saving. They did their best to make sure was happy with my purchase and I give them the highest recommendation for customer service. read more

One order was cancelled in error, we received and were charged for pocket squares which we never ordered, and the merchandise (ties) were really shoddy. My son's prom was last weekend and we came to this store location to rent for his senior night. The store was a little bit crazy, but considering there are so many schools in the area with proms I figured it might be hectic. Even though we waited a little bit of time, the staff were very friendly and helped my son and I pick out what he wanted to wear. When we went to pick up the tuxedo, I noticed his coat sleeves were a little uneven. I expressed my concerned and the staff catered to my needs in such a friendly matter and assured that the tailors could fix it. Later on that day I had my husband pick up the coat for my son. My son looked so handsome! I've heard some crazy stories from other mothers, but my experience here was superb! One of the thing I've always been taught and pass on to my family, is that patience is a virtue and if you give respect you will receive it back. read more

Our experience with this Men's Warehouse was excellent. Liz was very helpful and measured the groom very well for a beautiful tuxedo. As well, she measured my 85-year old father for a basic black tuxedo. When we picked up the tuxes and tried them on several days before the wedding, all the pieces (pants, jackets, vests, etc.) fit extremely well. We had no problems. We wanted everyone in the wedding party to have the same ties, and although we ordered these late in the game, the ties were there on time and ready to go. Everything worked well for us. this review is based off my experience getting tuxedos for myself and groomsmen for my wedding absolutely HORRIBLE experience we got measured and went back a few days later to pick up the tuxedos seemed like they just gave us whatever was available as not one of the tuxedos fits any of us properly the employees "attending" to us were the typical girls from the ghetto that would rather loudly chat with co-workers about "how dope their weekend was" than do their actual job when we pointed out that my sleeves looked like a pirate's sleeves, that my right pant leg was noticeably shorter than my left pant leg, that they gave us the wrong style of pants.... the chatty girls huffed and puffed bc they actually had to do something in their job description and actually work......how dare we make them work! this was just a couple days before my wedding and we had to scramble around to find a reputable store my advice to everyone getting married go to a PRIVATE, mom and pop TUXEDO rental store such as Biltmore Tuxedo's in Ridgewood, where the employee/owners actually care read more

I think many reviewers are confusing this location with the tux only MW in the mall. This shop off rt 17 is one of the better mens clothing shops in the area - with a great, attentive and personable sales staff and decent selection of high quality clothing. If you pay attention to their specials and promotions, some fantastic deals can be had. For example, they have a ridiculous 50% entire purchase coupon if you donate a mens suit (great cause btw) and a few times I've taken them up on their 2fer and 3fer dress shirt and tie deals. Mike Flax in particular deserves my kudos. As an ex sales guy myself, I saw him handling no less than 7 customers during an extremely busy dads n grads weekend with super zen like calm and accuracy. And I'm positive his help in choosing and fitting a very hip Hickey suit and wingtips helped me land a great job in Boston. They even slapped suspenders buttons on my pants during a chaotic weekend in under 15 minutes because I needed them the next morning for an interview. My only critique is that some of the casual clothing could be a little more hip/original. Maybe even just a touch of punk for us professionals in the creative/entertainment biz who need classy with an edge. Some skull n crossbones cufflinks would be cool. \m/ read more
