Props to Guadalajara! these trendy look alike food markets are popping up all over the world... and don't get me wrong, thank god for them, I mean, who doesn't like to have any imaginable type of food available at your table?? Anyway, decided to visit the place by my dearest friend's recommendation; I was not disappointed at all, a great adequation of this old space in the bohemian heart of Guadalajara. the project is still ongoing and there're a bunch of empty spaces but so far is looking sharp! Lo Bueno We ordered seafood small plates from "La Muerta", tbh the best tacos gobernador I've had (we even ordered a second plate...), a very well done Michelada (which in GDL are made with clam and tomato juice) this is hard to achieve, and the aguachile encacahuatado was yumy yumy. you can see the slow traffic street from the terrace with all its people and bikes passing by, a perfect spot to heal a hangover or to look for one. The king of the food parks! Mercado Mexico is building on the taco truck trend but taking the truck out of the equation, and making it a little more gourmet. Whoever came up with this place went around to some of the best restaurants in the city and asked them to come up with a concept that they could put in a fonda, or stall. Most of the places are working with around 100 square feet but are putting our some great food. There is coffee from Pal Real, wine from La Taninoteca, grilled meats from Burgos, unique tacos from Eugelio, ceviche, churros, carne en su jugo, hot dogs, and more coming online everyday. One of the best parts is the parking. They are two blocks off of Chapultapec and have tons of safe parking (you know what I am talking about). I am especially excited to see what the juice bar is going to look like.
