It took me a little time to process what happened this past Sunday before writing this review…read more I want to start by saying Tanner, the young man who worked our party, absolutely made the day. He was incredibly helpful with the kids, repeatedly apologized for everything happening (even though none of it was his fault), and remained kind, attentive, and professional the entire time. Tanner is the ONLY reason we managed to have any sort of birthday party at all. We booked the Ultimate Birthday Party package for my son's 7th birthday from 2-4 PM and also added the pizza and drinks package. The day before, I called to confirm everything, including our food order: 2 cheese pizzas, 2 pepperoni pizzas, Sprite, and lemonade for 12 kids. I arrived around 1:35 PM expecting a busy Sunday crowd. When I checked in, I was immediately told our party room would not be available until 3:15 PM -- despite our party being scheduled from 2-4 PM. That meant we would only have the room for the last 45 minutes. I was shocked. The employee at the front desk was kind and explained the manager had overbooked parties. Meanwhile, I was left standing in a packed lobby with decorations, cake, plates, and favor bags with nowhere to set anything up. I eventually asked to speak with the manager. After waiting about 15 minutes, he came over with absolutely no sense of urgency. He was dismissive, condescending, and repeatedly told me the room timing was listed in the "fine print" of the emails. Maybe technically it was, but it's honestly ridiculous to advertise birthday parties without guaranteeing space for the actual party. After offering no real solution, he simply walked away. As guests arrived, Tanner took the kids onto the obstacle course while I grabbed a couple of lobby tables to hold gifts and belongings. Thankfully, because of Tanner, the kids still had fun and had no idea what was happening behind the scenes. We finally got access to the party room around 3:30 PM, leaving only 30 minutes in our reservation, and there was still no pizza. Tanner helped us rush decorations up while the kids were already hungry and thirsty. When I asked about the pizzas, Tanner checked with the manager and came back saying they claimed I never ordered them. That was completely false. I would never host a party for 12 children without food. Tanner apologized again and later informed me they had "just ordered" the pizzas -- at 3:45 PM, with the party ending at 4. The kids were hungry, drinks were running low, and there was still no food. I asked for more time in the room, and once again Tanner had to speak with the manager himself. We were eventually allowed to stay until 4:30 PM and the pizzas were comped. Unfortunately, by then most parents were already preparing to leave because the party was supposed to end at 4. I rushed to cut the cake so the kids could at least sing Happy Birthday and eat something. The pizzas finally arrived at 4:10 PM when only three kids remained. To their credit, they comped the pizzas and gave us free gym-time coupons. I appreciate that gesture, but after the way the manager handled everything, I will never return. I'm honestly shocked I still paid $329 for this experience. The reason I'm writing this review is to warn other parents. Birthday parties are expensive, and your hard-earned money should go to a business that values its customers and knows how to properly manage events. During the entire three hours we were there, the manager never once apologized. The only staff members who showed professionalism or empathy were the younger employees -- especially Tanner. They are lucky to have him. As a business owner myself, I can confidently say the current manager will drive this business into the ground. He was dismissive, incompetent, condescending, and rude from start to finish. Save yourself the stress and book your child's birthday somewhere else.

So we got an adult to place the reservation on what appears to be their we portal. Had to make the reservation an hour earlier, which caused several folk to miss it as they were still at work. But turns out they are the real winners. Because those of us who went over early just got to talk to the manager telling us that they close at 4:00 and there are no canoes, and the reservation clearly was not with them. Who was it with? "Colorado Watersports"... well that is us, no reservation showed on their system, so they demanded to know WHO we made the reservation with, who did we talk to... https://www.coloradowatersports.com/ They claim to have no control over the web site. It lets me make a similar reservation for tomorrow. From which I conclude you should never make reservations with that web site as it is not for rentals at Colorado Watersports at Chatfield. Note: they made no move to get a canoe as they don't want canoes going out that late. Literally all the employees were just sitting around doing nothing except try to prove we don't have a reservation. Clearly they did not want our business. They did not provide any canoes as promissed. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere.

They started off…read morewith some basic movements and songs followed by a brief introduction of parents and kids. After that they had an open gym time, which was most of the class. I was hoping for a bit more structure, especially having them learn some actual skills that focused on balance, strength, and coordination. They had the kids practice some forward rolls at the beginning of class and over a donut mat during the open gym time, but that was about it. Having coached gymnastics for many years, these kids are far too young to do forward rolls safely and they can easily hurt their back/neck so I wasn't a fan of that particular skill being taught. At the end of the class, they got to play with bubbles, sing a song, and were given stamps. The instructor was very sweet, but they seemed short staffed since she had to balance the class with occasional trips to the office area. The facility was clean, but many of the mats looked old/were wobbly and in need of replacement. The gym is small with just one room for classes. To sign up, we were quoted $89 a month, with a $35 annual fee (they take $15 off that price if you sign up the day of your trial class). I honestly don't think it's worth the price for a self-taught class. I'd rather go to an actual gymnastics gym to take a mommy and me class since they tend to be more hands on, emphasize skill building, and work on following instructions. I also think if your little one is younger than 2.5 years, they won't get much out of the experience. We tried this gym out because it's close to us, but I would rather drive to do something a bit more legitimate. Plus, the prices at actual gymnastics gyms are cheaper!

I remember during nap time I wasnt sleeping. I reached out to touch a toy truck. A big fat teacher, she had short blonde curly/wavy hair. She was overweight and she was wearing a purple shirt. She stood over me and screamed at me. Then she went back to a table that was a circular table and sat with four other teachers. All of them bashed me. I remember knowing that I couldnt cry because if I cried I would be mocked. I silently held back my tears as the teachers said horrible things about me. I dont remember exactly what was said. Its been many years but I do remember that things were said and it was mean. I remember being forced to eat food I hated, coleslaw that was runny and soggy. I wasnt allowed to eat anything else until I ate my slaw first and I hated it. I remember the lunch room being down some stairs as you walk into the front. I dont know if they changed things up since then but back then the lunch room was down a few steps as you walk in, past the front desk. The kids sit at tables and back then we walked up to get food if we wanted more. The lunch lady refused to feed me until I ate my soggy slaw first. To this day the smell of slaw gets to me. I remember another incident where we were making toy boats. We had to use string to sew in the part of the boat, making it fun colors. I remember all of the other kids getting help. The teachers were patient and kind to them from what I remember. When it came to me asking for help I was shoved away. I remember the room being in the back, as you walk past the lunchroom. You walk in the doors and walk down a few steps to the lunchroom, if thats still the lunchroom and you walk to the left, around the lunchroom and there is a room in the back. I think they called it the yellow room back then but my memory is foggy, as its been 34 years. Thats the room where most of it happened. The pool was another story. I was ignored in the pool. I had an accident, busting my lip in the shallow end. The teachers ignored it but the lifeguard noticed and helped me. The lifeguard had long brown hair that was tied back in a ponytail. She seemed to be early 20s from what I remember. The lifeguard stand was by the wall, opposite end of where you walk out to get to the pool. Its been 34 years and my memory has faded some. I was 3 and 4, very little at the time but I still remember. I did not send my oldest to preschool due to being afraid it would happen to him. We will be possibly homeschooling due to me not trusting the school system due to my preschool years. Dont send your children here. No way in hell would I be sending my kids here. I have a few children now of preschool and elementary school age and this is one school I will not be sending to.
