This place is a scam factory. I went in for a simple first-time dental exam and they tried to hit me with more unnecessary procedures than I've ever seen in my life. They stacked a CBCT scan, multiple sets of X-rays, and SIX intraoral photos -- all in one visit -- and then tried to tell me this was "normal." It's not. No legitimate dental office does this. They handed me a treatment plan worth nearly $10,000, including a root canal, crown, and wisdom teeth surgery, before I even saw a specialist or got a real diagnosis. They also added multiple consultation fees that most offices don't charge for at all. Every single price was at the extreme high end of the national range. The overbilling here is blatant. When I questioned anything, they dismissed my concerns and acted like I didn't understand what was being done. But after speaking to insurance and comparing with other dentists, it's obvious this office is padding bills and taking advantage of patients who don't know any better. If you value your money, your time, or your health, avoid this place. Get a second opinion before letting them touch a single tooth. There are plenty of honest dentists in Mesa/Gilbert. I go to the location on S Country Club. I can't speak for the other locations but this one is exceptional. All the professionals are friendly and easy to work with. They've helped me out on several occasions including extractions, and crowns, I can't recommend them highly enough. several times I have been to this office the office staff is very nice extremely nice, I had one very good hygienist, however the dentist I met and have been treated by as extremely young does not listen to her clients and is not competent in cosmetic work I strongly suggest against going to this practice for anything cosmetic maybe for very basic dentistry they are OK I basically have wasted a lot of money with them for nothing and now have to start from scratch. All they do is try to give you a hard cell and they are not consistent about their treatment recommendations at least not in my experience the female dentist I saw extremely disappointing they're also not a private practice they're part of a huge franchise group so you get what you pay for young inexperienced providers read more

I previously had taken my son here for a checkup and really was impressed. Since I hadn't been to a dentist in longer than I want to admit, I decided it was time to schedule an appointment. I love that you can make appointments online and that they offer Saturday appointments. The staff is great, they are so friendly and make you feel at ease. I love that they don't make you wait a long time to be seen. I mentioned to my dentist I was a bit nervous and made sure I was doing ok throughout my procedure. She constantly asked if I was feeling any pain and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. They also set up payments that worked with my budget. I even got a follow-up call to check how I was doing. I don't usually review doctor/dentist offices, but I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a new dentist. read more

Best dental office we've been to in Years. Dr. Kathryn Morgan was VERY sensitive to my fear of pain...and considering the old crown was a torture to remove - she did so with no pain and very little discomfort (and I was in the chair almost 3 hours.) Do not go here . Dr. Ho poked at my gums a lot in the last 3 months . Checking my pockets over and over. This has been a nightmare. Now she wants to extract a tooth that has an abscess . This week I am going to a new dentist. I asked if I could do a root canal. She said this tooth has too much bone loss . They recommended deep cleaning . So I did this in the last couple of months . I feel she is doing more damage to my gums by poking my gum pockets and saying the size of the pocket. Now as of Saturday she says my pockets around this tooth are a 9. I came to this location a year ago for a regular cleaning, and after sitting in the room for over an hour with no one coming in I finally left frustrated without any services done. I decided to give them another try today and they took xrays, told me extra services they recommend and then told me they could floss my teeth but couldn't do my scheduled cleaning. When I asked why they scheduled my cleaning to have me come in and say they now do no have time I've now wasted my time twice with this office, and will not be back again or spend money It was a waste of my time and a joke read more

The quality of care is great. The people are great. The dentist are great, so I thought. The dental office gets a kickback on these insurance loans that they claim you are getting a discount on. Please Google these multi million dollar consumer fraud lawsuits, that you just might become a part of . Smile Generation consumer fraud lawsuit, Comenity bank consumer fraud lawsuit, Bread Bank consumer fraud lawsuit, The problem is financing. You are taking a massive risk by accepting their financing. Trust me, I'm an extremely responsible adult woman who pays her bills on time always pays off promotional balances before they are due has excellent credit, pays my taxes works my butt off and now I'm getting taken for thousands of dollars. I am working seven days a week to pay off illegitimate fees and the changing of promotional balances and then changing my set monthly payment to the minimum due! I never agreed to it. They will not send you statements you will not be able to get on to their website to check and you will get thousands of dollars charged on your monthly payments just when you think you're about ready to have it paid off. You'll get nowhere with the dental office as they get paid for doing the loans, and you will get the runaround for days trying to dispute this fraud and be given bogus phone numbers it is all part of a giant scheme to take your money people. Do the research. Look at the claims. Look at the lawsuits. Shame on these people for doing this to us thinking we actually needed all this dental care that would come easy for us to finance at a lower rate through their insurance! Please be very very careful, I am now going to be part of this huge lawsuit. I came here for a cleaning and filling and had a great experience with Dr. Im! The office felt very clean and the wait to be seen was short. The staff was very professional and every step in the process was explained to me so I knew exactly what was going on in my mouth. Having Saturday appointments available was also a huge plus in my book since it can be difficult to find time during the week to stop in. Today I get a call apologizing for the confusion of them trying to tell me I needed 8 crowns not the 3 I was told. They also tried to charge me over $2000.00 saying my insurance only would pay $600.00. As of Jan 1st I have $3000.00 coverage. IF I didn't check it out I would have taken out a third loan. Please be careful with this dental office!!!! This is a fair warning to those who think this place really cares about their patients. At the time of service in Feb. 2023, I took my annual x-rays and did my 6 month cleaning. However, the dentist told me I had a root canal and needed to extract that tooth or do a root canal service at $850 with insurance. I was so surprised and appalled by their demanding demeanor to get this service done or else I would loose my tooth. Prior to visiting this office, I've been really good about going to the dentist routinely and I rarely had any cavities or oral health issues. I trusted their expertise and thought they really cared about their patients, but I was wrong! I felt like God was telling me not to continue with their services because it didn't sit well with me by how they treated me and demanded I do what they said, especially by the dentist. I felt pressured and uncomfortable. I ended up finding out the staff were looking at someone else's x-rays and missed diagnosed me with a root canal that I didn't even have. I spent over $2000 to fix this gigantic mess and I'm stuck with this unnecessary bill as a college student who is trying to graduate and get out of debt. Honestly, always get a second opinion at any doctor's or dentist office that charges anything above $150-$200 for any type of service. I promise you, you'll never regret that second opinion to make sure someone is being honest and truthful to you. It's already challenging for so many of us to make ends meet; please save yourself from the unnecessary stress, anxiety, and burden this dental office can cause. read more

I went to this office and was told I needed a crown that cost me 1700 dollars and I needed treatments for periodontal disease that would cost me 250 dollars every 3 months. I got the crown and the first periodontal laser treatment (which I regret) because I got a second opinion at another dental office from a different doctor and they said my gums are fine and I don't have periodontal disease. They will lie to you to make money. I don't trust them at all and won't be returning. Also I had a horrendous experience with one of their dental hygienists and I had tears streaming down my face and she scraped my gums and I bled profusely. Reading some of the negative reviews, I feel like either I went to a completely different dentist or they have really taken the reviews to heart and changed their ways. They took their time, and honestly, that's much better than being rushed through and I spent a considerable amount of time with the dentist. She seemed to really care. I have insurance and they didn't seem to do anything shady or try to upsell me on anything. Addressed my concerns very genuinely, gave me great pointers and it took a little over an hour for a first time visit but believe me when I say literally everyone in the office was an absolute delight. They have a lot of xrays that can help, but you are welcome to refuse a lot of them (which I did, because ouch and also, radiation, duh) Also the Hygenist ( Angela..? - I can't remember her name) was super super gentle and took her time and didn't spray me everywhere. Super caring, they have neck pillows and blankets and I've literally never gone to a better dental office in my life. If they weren't working on my teeth, I could have fallen asleep. 5/5, 100% would recommend. read more

This is the first negative review I have ever left for a business. As a business owner myself I understand the impact. DO NOT visit this office. They are great at first, then you will not see the dentist. They will sell sell sell. And they will lie. They lied and misled me multiple times about cost, and when I was not feeling well/ worried about an allergic reaction after a treatment (mind you a dentist did not see me, it was recommended by the hygienist), they wouldn't get on the phone with me or call me after I was assured twice they would. I am so happy with Mesa Modern Dentistry. I haven't had very many good experiences with dentists so it took me awhile to make a decision on one. My first appointment was for a cleaning and x-rays that was way overdue. I wasn't rushed and Dr. Ho spent a lot of personal time one-on-one with me. I went home very happy and with options to have several crowns done that I had been putting off. Dr. Ho helped me get what I needed within my budget. I just got the crowns done and I am so impressed with the service, treatment, knowledge and how pleasant Dr. Ho and Lindsey were! Dr. Ho makes personal phone calls for follow-up and to discuss treatment and options. I've never had a dentist call instead of leaving it to office staff to follow up. STAY AWAY!! They are performing unnecessary dental work. They charged me hundreds for a stay plate that they insisted I would need after an extraction. I never had to use it and was told by my NEW dentist that it was totally not needed. They tried to force me into a crown to fix a filling that had come out. I would not even give them a star, an under experienced dentist removed my upper teeth ( upon my request) but ti was under the impression he knew what he was doing ( he did not) and was afraid to be honest to me about it. I have had nothing but problems with my dentures and they offer NO solutions. Then when I showed up for my final fitting for my permanent dentures they said I had to pay even more! I left after waiting 30 min to see why and they stated they would call me with an update, I have NEVER heard back from them, only to receive a letter from a collection agency about what I owed them. Unfortunately this place is pretty much the worst. I have insurance. They can schedule you quickly, but I was in for a normal cleaning and I was in that office for over 2 hours. They took images for about 10 min, they tried to sell me an upgraded cleaning and equipment/services, the dentist came in to talk for about 5, and then they spent 13 minutes cleaning and flossing my teeth. The rest of the time I waited in the chair. It's unclear to me if an actual hygienist did the cleaning, because it was really not thorough and cut my gums. I'm not really sure what those other 2 people were upset about but, I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ho, the DAs, and the entire staff. Professional, friendly, and not to mention Dr. Ho's infectious laugh. I use to DREAD coming to the dentist before, but now I actually look forward to it. I came in last week with some left side tooth sensitivity, and after a few X-Rays and exam by the doctor, she and one of her office people went over each treatment option, and their costs. (If only my medical doctor would do that.) And if it's one thing I've learned in life, is 99.9% of the time when one has an issue with service, it's typically not the fault of the staff or doctor. I am not the type to leave a review, but like many others who have left reviews for Mesa Modern Dentistry, I had an awful experience! I have moved a lot over the years and have had nothing but fantastic dentists until today. Like others have mentioned, I felt like I was at a car dealership and it was very uncomfortable. I had three different employees try to convince me to stay and get all the work done that they recommended ASAP after I said that I did not have time in my work schedule to stay more than an hour today. I also, like many other reviewers, did NOT GET A CLEANING. I honestly do not know if they even have a hygienist! My husband and child had appointments earlier this week and also did not receive a cleaning. Why would I bring my child in if it were to not get a cleaning? They told all of us a million things they saw wrong, which we have never been told by other dentists, and sent us on our way after having other employees tell us about the pricing of the procedures. No mention of a future cleaning at all. No one in my family will step into this office again. read more

5 stars for the front desk staff. They have been nothing but awesome! So I've been waiting about 4 weeks to post this review to see if my 2nd and 3rd times to the office get any better than the first. I had a rough experience on the first go-round, but I talked it out with the front desk staff (which deserve 6 STARS just for putting up with me) and I thought we had it resolved. It was basically miscommunication where as a new patient I didn't get to see the dentist after my 2 hour cleaning since someone misunderstood and thought I wanted to come back next week and do that. Um? Anyway they made it up to me by giving me free custom made teeth whitening trays. Which I thought was going to be awesome. (details later) I came back a couple weeks later to finally see the dentist and she said I needed to pull all my wisdom teeth... okay.... so I started setting up appointments to do that, and then I started to read online that if you're 30 (I'm 32) and you haven't had any problems with your wisdom teeth then you probably won't. Okay, okay I know the internet can be a hit or miss source of information, so when I called back to ask the doc about it, her attitude was sort of like - well, it's up to you. Um. How come 2 hours before it was "you have to pull them" and then when I call back it's like "well, whatever - it's up to you."? Then the teeth whitening thing. I was actually very excited and appreciative of that. (Like I said, the front desk staff is amazing. They will really go out of their way to try and make things right) However, when I went to pick them up the receptionist gave me some very brief instructions on how to use them, so I figured it wasn't brain surgery or anything and I tried it out that night. I did everything exactly as the verbal and written instructions were given, but the whitening solution actually burned my gums and left a sort of reddish black mark that was so sensitive I couldn't even brush my teeth in that area for a few days! (It did heal up, by the way, but I think I'd rather have slightly off-white teeth than risk burning my gums again.) Overall, I think I've tried really hard to like this place and to give them an honest try. But maybe we are just not a good fit. I'm sure they have fully satisfied patients. Maybe I'm just a special case. But I've kind of given up trying and will be going somewhere else from now on. read more

Update: My wife and I scheduled back to back appointments far in advance for a specific Dental Hygienist. I was notified only two hours before my scheduled appointment that the Dental Hygienist we wanted to see was not on the schedule. Really? Only two hours notice? Unprofessional. We were given the opportunity to reschedule but since it is the end of the year, we would have lost the chance to use or 2020 dental benefits. So, since that was not acceptable to us we had no choice but to see another Dental Hygienist. I went back for my cleaning first and rather than them wait until mine was done so my wife could have the same Dental Hygienist I had, as scheduled, she was taken back shortly after me to a different Dental Hygienist. No longer happy here and it's not worth the extra drive for us to come here now that we have moved, we will find another dentist closer to us. read more
